Chapter Thirteen
Dwisclaimer: I’m not making any money off of this. I don’t own Harry Potter. Wish I did. Then we’d see a little more HPSS action. Oh yeah...
Note: This is an AU fic. And I don’t care what happened in HBP. I started writing it before, and even though a lot happened in that book this fic isn’t changing. You no like it? Don’t read. Also, this is a yaoi fic which means it has guy on guy action. You no like? You no read! It’s really that simple. It’s also a vampire fic because I have this obsession with vampires. Again, you no like? You no read it! Anything else? It’s a big AU. There’s no way (even if for some reason Harry and Sev did get together in the real books) that they would be vampires and that they’d act the way they do here. Sorry for killing their characters but I have warned you... -dpa06-
-Chapter Thirteen-
Harry stepped out of the shower and grabbed a towel to wrap around his waist. Then he grabbed another and handed it to Severus as he stepped out behind him. Harry didn’t stay and wait for the kiss Sev would have given him had he still been standing there. Instead, he went back to the bedroom and lay down still wet and in a towel. Severus followed him quickly, worried he may have overstepped a boundary with his childe just now.
“Harry? Are you okay?”
“Yeah, just tired. Morning sickness is kicking my arse. It doesn’t matter what or how much or how little I eat, it all comes back up the next morning.” He sighed. “And I’m getting fat.”
“You are not,” Severus said immediately. And it was true; Harry wasn’t fat.
“Am too. Look.” He sat up so he could show his stomach to his lover. “I noticed it while we were in the shower. I’m getting fat.” Well, fat was a gross overstatement. There was a bit of a bump there where there was once a washboard of muscled abs. Their child was growing. Their child.
“Harry, you’re not getting fat. Our child is just growing,” Severus soothed.
“Fine, whatever. It all means the same: I’m getting fat. And our bonding is tomorrow. What if in our bonding pictures it shows how fat I am? We’ll be showing those to friends and family for years to come and every single one of them will say ‘Severus, why did you marry such a fat man?’.” He turned over and curled in on himself once more.
Severus gave an inaudible sigh and a roll of the eyes. He read up on pregnancies, as many as he could find, in both the muggle and wizarding world. He couldn’t find any pertaining to the vampiric ones so he let it alone. Kevin said he’d get those for them anyways. Mood swings and hormones were not something he was looking forward to, but every book said it was something you had to treat with delicacy. The wrong thing could turn things from bad to Hell. “Love, you’re not fat. I think you look wonderful. And I don’t care what other people might say. You have my full permission to hit them if they say anything you don’t like. Aren’t you happy that you can now see evidence that we have a child?”
“Well... when you put it that way... You don’t think I’m fat?”
Not yet I don’t, Severus thought, thankful that their bond wasn’t a telepathic one. “Of course not, Love. Come, let’s get you fed and decide a few last minute things before tomorrow.” Although Harry did know how and was using blood packets at one point after returning home, the baby was making his cravings worse and more frequent than when he was first turned. Severus gladly fed him regularly, but always had a few blood packets handy in case Harry seemed to not want to let go. Harry may have been pregnant, but he was still a man with magical powers and vampiric strength. And Severus would never forget that. This was not some dainty woman he was dealing with.
Once dressed and in the kitchen, eating a breakfast Dobby had set on the table at some point that morning, Severus began talking about their bonding the next afternoon. “We both still agree that it will be a quiet ceremony with just the two of us, the bondsman, and the witness?” Harry nodded. “You’re sure you don’t want anyone else to come?” Harry shook his head. “Last chance, Love.” Harry shook his head again. “Okay. And you want to take my name?” Harry nodded. “Harry Snape sounds a little off to me. Don’t think I don’t want you to take my name, Love,” he rushed. “Maybe we could... compromise a bit.” Harry looked at him, waiting for an explanation. “Maybe... maybe we should change our last names to Potter-Snape so we both have what we want.”
“You... you’d take my name?” Harry whispered.
“Of course I would. I thought you wouldn’t want to take my name. This way it will be recognized that we’re both in charge in our family, and we’ll both have an heir. Because any child we have will be a Potter-Snape, then they can have access to both ancestral, monetary, and sentimental things we have. It’s the best thing politically, as well as what I want. Do you like it Harry?” Harry nodded with bright eyes. “Okay then. I have also been told that it is not necessary to tell the bondsman about our being vampires. Therefore, we will not. Why cause a scene? I am also going to swear both in attendance not to tell a soul about what will be happening tomorrow. That way, we can tell others when we want to and not when The Daily Prophet does.”
“Okay,” Harry said shakily, taking another bite of his eggs and tabasco sauce.
“Harry? What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, nothing. I just... It’s nothing.”
“Harry.”
“I love you, you know that right?”
“Yes,” Severus said slowly. “And I love you. I thought we had established this.”
“Yes, but...” Here, Harry looked down at his eggs again. He muttered something that not even Severus could here. And when he was asked to repeat that, his hands curled into fists. “You’re... you’re not... The baby... It’s not...”
“Harry. What is it? Spit it out already!”
“You’re not just marrying me for the baby are you?” Harry whispered.
Severus froze. “Harry, how could you think that?” Harry looked into his eyes then. He really thinks that I only want to marry him because he’s pregnant! Sweet Merlin, why... why on earth would he think that? What happened to you, Harry, to make you so jaded? “Harry, come here.” Harry refused, and looked down at his eggs again. “Now.” Severus’ voice was one of authority, and Harry made to obey by sitting in his sire’s lap. “I will only tell you this once, so listen carefully or I will be most cross: I love you, Harry James Potter. I want you. I need you. If I wanted a baby I would have gotten one long ago. I am not marrying you so that you or I don’t look bad for the press. I’m not marrying you to get a Snape heir. I am marrying you, because I love you. Got it?”
Harry nodded against his chest, not trusting his voice to say anything. Severus’ arms wrapped around his shoulders in a comforting hug. “I’m sorry,” Harry whispered. “I don’t know why I thought that. I just... Are you sure?”
“Damn it Harry,” Severus snarled, grasping Harry’s chin and crushing their lips together. The kiss was demanding, unyielding. Sev moved to conquer the younger man, but Harry didn’t want to be suppressed; he wanted to be loved. So he fought back. His strength matched his sire’s and he was ecstatic when Sev yielded to him. They parted for air. “Yes I’m sure,” Sev panted. “If I wasn’t, then I wouldn’t do this. You know that. You know me. I don’t do things to make other people happy. And I’m not about to start.” Too bad Harry wasn’t listening. Instead, his attention was on his lover’s neck, where he was currently feeding from. “Insatiable nuisance,” Sev mumbled, tilting his head to the side to allow Harry free access.

“It’s very simple. Do you know who I am? I am Harry Potter. I killed Voldemort, remember? I want to be bonded to Severus Snape. Do you remember him? He helped me kill said Dark Lord. You can bond people. I want to bond with him. Do I need to draw a pretty picture to get the message across?! Just do your job!”
“Harry,” Sev warned. “Let’s not get upset now.”
“Upset? Upset?! He’s refusing to marry us because he thinks you’ve coerced me into this! Do I need to take Veritaserum to prove to you people that I come here of my own free will to bond to the man I love? Sev, get me a batch and quick. I’m getting irritated with this man.”
“Mr. Potter-”
“I’d correct you, but someone won’t bond me!” Harry yelled, face red and eyes flashing.
“Mr. Potter!” Severus snapped, taking his teaching voice with his childe. “That is quite enough. I am sure that if this nice man will refuse to bond us, we may go elsewhere... and when we have interviews with the press we will be sure to tell them that the first bondsman we went to refused to perform the ceremony because he thought he could stop Harry Potter from doing something he wanted to do.”
The man began to sweat lightly at the very obvious threat that was placed in front of him. “I-If you’re s-sure that he’s not f-forced you into th-this, Mr. P-Potter?” he asked, not taking his eyes off the potions master.
“Gee, isn’t that what I’ve been telling you for the past twenty minutes?”
“As long as it is of mutual consent, I would be more than happy to bond you and Mr. Snape, Mr. Potter. Do you... do you have the rings then?”
“Are you daft? Of course I do,” Severus snarled, thrusting a box into the man’s hands. “Now get on with it, you’ve already wasted enough of our time.”
“O-Of course, sir. Today Severus Snape and Harry Potter stand before me, Antonius Martin, under their own free will to be bonded one to another. Repeat after me, Mr. Snape. I, Severus Snape,”
“I, Severus Snape,”
“do give my heart, mind, soul, and body,”
“do give my heart, mind, soul, and body,”
“to this man, Harry Potter.”
“to this man, Harry Potter.”
“Now place the ring on his finger, explaining any spells you’ve placed on it and- Oh my. A-and the meaning of the rings, if you haven’t already done so.” Antonius handed Sev one of the rings and Sev snatched it out of his hand.
“Harry, these rings are special rings. They are not only the Snape family rings, with spells of protection and love written into them, but they are only given if the pair is one hundred percent sure of their love. If these rings were to be given without a pure, honest, and true love, the spells would reverse and backfire immediately upon the people. If said love is true, the spells are forever and unbreakable. If they’re not... Well, we don’t have to worry about that. They will burn when one of us is in trouble; they will act as a locator charm when one of us is lost; they will allow us many other advantages that will be explained in time. And they can never be removed, so you will never lose it. So with this ring, I pledge everything I could possibly ever give you for all time and eternity.” He slipped the solid silver band onto Harry’s finger. It resized to fit Harry’s left ring finger.
“Repeat after me, Mr. Potter. I, Harry Potter,”
“I, Harry Potter,”
“do give my heart, mind, soul, and body,”
“do give my heart, mind, soul, and body,”
“to this man, Severus Snape.”
“to this man, Severus Snape.”
“Now place this ring on his finger.”
Harry took the ring from Antonius, his eyes never straying from Severus’. “I didn’t know what the rings meant, but I’m not changing my mind. It means that much more to me that you would think of something to keep my mind at rest when I am worried about you. They may be your rings, but with this ring I pledge myself to you, and only you, that I will do everything in my powers to keep our family strong and thriving, and as happy as we can make it. Together.” He slipped the ring on his sire’s left ring finger, the solid silver band automatically resizing to fit Severus’ finger.
“With these rings and vows I declare you a bonded couple,” Antonius recited, wrapping a piece of rope around their wrists to bind them. The rope was made of four different materials: silver silk, gold satin, blue hem, and black cotton. “This binding signifies each stage of life you have gone through, are going through, and have yet to go through. The different colours have changed to match your lives, and they mean something different to each of you. But, they are intertwined and will remain that way. The rope will stay with you forever and always, just as your love will.” At these words, the binding sank into their skin. A tingling feeling spread through each man, the sensation of magic and power surging through each body.
It caught Harry unaware, and he gripped Sev’s hands tighter. Antonius was saying something, but Harry couldn’t understand him. There was a loud noise in his ears; something was happening. Severus looked on, confused as Harry’s eyes glossed over. When his newly bonded mate slipped into unconsciousness and fell forward, Sev caught him and looked startled from Harry to Antonius. Antonius promptly stopped speaking and moved to help Severus with Harry, but one look from the potions master kept the bondsman at bay.
“Harry? Love? Answer me. What’s wrong?” Severus asked softly.
“He’s fainted, Mr. Potter-Snape. He can’t hear you.”
“Yes, he can. Shut up, please. Harry? Come on now, you’re worrying me here.”
“Sev?” Harry groaned, one hand on his forehead. “What was that? What happened to me?”
“I don’t know, you tell me, Love.”
“Something... So much power... And it hurt, but not painful hurt. It was like... like a good hurt. But there was this loud noise in my ears. Sounded like water pushing through a small pipe or something. Where are we?”
“Still at the bondsman’s, Love. We’re almost done. Hang on just one more second and I’ll get us home, okay?” He kissed Harry’s forehead and looked back at Antonius. “Are we done yet?”
“Just about, Misters Potter-Snape. The documents are ready to be sent off as soon as you sign them.” He held out a parchment and a quill for Severus to sign his name.
“Harry? You have to sign your name now. Harry Potter-Snape. How does that sound?”
“Great, Sev,” Harry sighed, trying to slip back into his sleep-like state once more.
“Not yet, Harry,” Severus said, shaking Harry awake. “Sign first. You can sleep when we get home.”
Harry haphazardly picked up the quill and scrawled his name on... across... near the line he was supposed to. Sev picked his childe up in his arms and prepared to apparate home. “Speak of this to anyone, and I will kill you,” he warned to Antonius and the witness who stood in a corner. Then they were gone.

A/N: Ah, threats after such a lovely wedding. *cough cough* I loved writing Sev in this chapter. So... Oh! The reason why this is late is because I was in the hospital yesterday. I have a bad knee, and it only got worse when two Saturdays ago I got kicked by a sheep. Fucking sheep... Anyways, they had to jab a needle under my kneecap and suck all the water out that was just sitting there instead of moving throughout my leg as it should. The problem with that: I have a phobia of needles. So they had to sedate me. And they also took my blood while I was out to see if I was anemic since I have these really nasty bruises all up and down my legs. I have a five-point star on my right thigh and a question mark on my right calf. No joke. Well, I'm not anemic and I'm doing better now. So, sorry for the wait. But I think I had a good excuse. Now then... Reviews!
Jet: I got this review, and thank-you for it. I don't know why they don't post, but thanks for reviewing. And thanks for the compliment.
hermione said so: I understand exams. I had a midterm this morning. Eugh. I really wasn't trying to hide his pregnancy or anything, but I did have one friend who was completely shocked when she found out. *shakes head* Weird... Thanks for the review!
girlsbyte: It would be stalkerish on my part. Sorry for the confusion. I love Mpregs, and I love when it's Harry that's preggers. And I agree, a pregnant Sevvie is hilarious. You'll know when it's the end because the chapter will be entitled 'Epilogue'. And that's not for a few chapters yet. So don't fret. Hey! That rhymes! Yeah!
nercomi: Thanks for the props, but the kiss kinda scares me. Sorry, that sounded really rude. I'm not a touchy feely person, normally. I'm sorry. I'll just say thank-you and shut up now. So thanks.
l'etje: Does your name mean anything? It looks kinda like French, which I don't understand but still love. Anyways, thanks for the review and the compliment. I post almost every Tuesday. If you read above, you'll know why I didn't post yesterday. Thanks again!
I love reviews. And I love my reviewers. Thanks everyone! -dpa06-

-dpa06-
