14 : Of To Potter’s House We Go

The
next morning when Harry woke up he had decided what to do.
<>
“ I
will give it a week. If flirting and letting him know subtly how I
feel doesn’t work then I will tell him and hope for the best. “
<>
Harry
got up and went through him morning routine. He debated what to
wear. Part of him wanted to dress sexy and see how Remus would
react. The other part of him was worried about Remus having an
embarassing reaction in front of the others. The latter part won out
and he dressed in baggy jeans and a green cotton jumper. He tied his
hair back and was ready to go.

He
went downstairs to find that most of the household was already up
plus Tonks, Moody and Dumbledore. Snape had not been back there
since the incident on Harry’s Birthday.

“ Good
morning dear “ said Molly. “ Breakfast is on the table.
“
<>
“ Thanks
Mrs. Weasley “ said Harry. He sat down and started to fill his
plate.

“ So
what are your plans for today? “ asked Arthur.
<>
“ Packing
my things , I hope to leave for the manor today if that works for you
Remus. “

“ That
should work for me, I do not have that much to pack. Maybe by late
afternoon or early evening we can go” said Remus.

“ So
you are still planning on moving to Potter Manor? “ asked
Dumbledore.
<>
“ Yes
I told you I was going , what part did you not understand “
said Harry irritably.

“ What
about taking Tonks or Moody with you as well? We would all feel
much better if you did “ stated Dumbledore.

“ NO! I DO NOT NEED
YOUR SPIES IN MY HOUSE “ roared Harry.

“ See
here boy...” started Moody.
<>
“ You
mind your own business “ said Harry. “ Remus is the
ONLY one coming and that is FINAL.“

“ Ok
Harry it was just a suggestion “ said Tonks.
<>
“ Yeah
and I bet Professor Dumbledore here told you to report back on my
progress. “ Tonks lowered her head and couldn’t answer
him. “ Just as I thought “ said Harry.

“ ALBUS
ENOUGH! What are you doing? “ said Remus.
<>
“ I’m
sorry Harry, I honestly have your welfare in mind “ apologized
Dumbledore.
<>
Harry
took a deep breath. “ I know you think that but as was said
before, I am prefectly safe there and frankly I can’t wait to
be away from some of you. “ Harry sighed. “ I am going
to work on my powers and study for my NEWTS tests. “

“ What
are you talking about Harry “ asked Hermione.
<>
‘ Damn
I wasn’t going to tell them but oh well.' “ If I
pass my NEWTS in DADA and Charms at the end of the month I will be a
teacher’s aide for DADA this year. “

“ That’s
great Harry. You will need to study hard though. “

“ Won’t
that interfere with your other subjects “ asked Ginny.
<>
“ I
will just be taking Transfigurations, Magical Creatures and maybe
Herbology so it shouldn’t be a problem. “

“ Wait
what about Potions “ asked Ron.
<>
“ I’m
dropping it “ said Harry.
<>
“ WHAT! “ said everyone.
<>
“ You
need Potions to be an auror “ said Tonks.
<>
“ I
don’t plan on being an auror anymore so why subject myself to
that greasy git any longer.“

“ Harry
you have wanted to be an auror for a long time “ said Hermione.
<>
“ Well
that’s not really true. I think I said that because, one I
didn’t know what else to choose, two it was what people
expected me to do and three because it pissed off Umbridge “
Harry shrugged. “ I think I finally realized that it’s
not what I want to do with my life. I have to live my own life, not
the life others would have me live.”.

“ But
Harry you need to become an auror. What about You-know -who? “
said Tonks.

“ I
will deal with Voldemort, oh stop that stupid reaction it’s
his name for pete’s sake, I will deal with V-O-L-D-E-M-O-R-T
Voldemort for my own reasons. If I get the chance to take out
Bellatrix too I’ll be happy but the rest of the scum is all
yours “ Harry ranted.

“ What
will you do then? “ asked Molly.
<>
“ I
don’t know. Maybe professional Quidditch if I can. I really
haven’t given it much thought. What I do know is I will not
work for the ministry in any way, at least until they get a minister
with functioning morals and an IQ greater than a bag of turnips. “

“ Minister
Bones is a smart, fair women...” started Dumbledore.

“ Who
is always trying to set me up with her coma inducing , cow of a neice
Susan. “ Ron and Ginny chuckled.
<>
“ HARRY
JAMES POTTER THAT WAS NOT VERY NICE “ said Molly sternly.
<>
“ Sorry
but she is a boring , mousy Hufflepuff Mrs. Weasley. I have told the
minister several times that I’m not interested in a
relationship with her “lovely“ neice, “
Harry snorted. “ The next time she starts up with that crap I
am going to tell her EXACTLY what I think of the idea. “

“ You
wouldn’t dare “ glared Dumbledore.
<>
“ Well
then I suggest you trying to set her straight. I’ve tried
many, many times to tactfully get the message across but she is not
listening “ Harry said. “ Can I please eat my breakfast. I’m starving
and I have a lot to do today." Harry
started eating and ignored everyone.
<>
After
Harry finished eating he got up, gave a nod to Remus and left before
anyone else could start bugging him. Remus got up moments later ,
said Good Day to everyone and followed Harry from the room. He went
up to Harry’s room and knocked on the door.

“ Who
is it?” called out Harry.
<>
“ Remus
“.
<>
“ Come
in “.
<>
Remus
came in and saw the new trunk open in the middle of the room. Harry
came out of the closet with an arm full of clothes.
<>
“ Starting
packing already I see” said Remus.
<>
“ Yeah. I definite
can’t wait to get away from here” Harry said. “ Hey should we take
Dobby with us? I know he only came here
to look after me but I don’t want the other house-elves to feel
like I don’t trust them or something.”
<>
“ Why
don’t you ask Dobby? “ said Remus. “ He can tell
you if he would be welcomed by the other house-elves. “
<>
“ You’re
right “ said Harry. “ Dobby, “ Harry called. Dobby
appeared with a pop.
<>
“ Yes
Harry Potter sir. What can Dobby do for you?”
<>
“ I
am moving to the Potter Manor. There are already six house-elves
there but I would like you to come as well. Would you have any
problems fitting in? I would not want you or the others to feel
uncomfortable. “
<>
“ Dobby
would be loving to come with you. It will be no problem for Dobby to
join with the others sir. Is Harry Potter sir needing Dobby’s
help to pack?”
<>
“ That
would be great. I need the books that came from the bank and my
motorcycle. “
<>
“ Right
away Harry Potter sir,“ said Dobby who disappeared with a pop.
<>
“ Well
I should let you finish and get packing myself. “ Remus went
to leave the room but was stopped by Harry.
<>
“ Thanks
for everything. I know I’m probably putting you in an awkward
position with Dumbledore. I really appreciate you sticking up for me.
“ Harry pulled a startled Remus into a hug .
<>
Remus
returned the hug, laying his cheek on top of Harry ‘s head. “
I ‘ll always be there for you “ he told Harry.
<>
They
broke apart and Remus exited the room with a spring in his step and a
smile on his face.
<>
Later
that afternoon Harry and Remus were packed and ready to go. They
went down to the kitchen to say their good-byes. Molly hugged them
both, telling them to eat and be careful. Hermione said to study
hard. Ron said to have fun on his new broom and motorcycle (much to
Molly and Hermione’s disapproval). Ginny told him (with a
wink) to enjoy himself. The other wish them well. That left
Dumbledore.

“ Take
care Harry. Will we see you again this summer?” asked
Dumbledore.
<>
“ I
don’t know, “ said Harry with a shrug. “ Most
likely I will not see you until I come to pick up the Weasley and
Hermione or at my tests. “

“ Good
luck with your studies then “ said Dumbledore.
<>
“ Thank
you sir “ said Harry.
<>
“ Well
we need to get going , “ said Remus . “ Dobby. “<>
Dobby
appeared. “ Yes sirs. “
<>
“ We
are ready to go now. “
<>
Harry
, Remus and Dobby left the house walking to the edge of the
anti-apparation wards.

“ Dobby
will come with you now Harry Potter sir then Dobby can come back to
get the rest of the stuff. “

“ Great
Dobby, hold onto me so we can go “ said Harry.
<>
Dobby
and Remus each held onto Harry who activated the ring and they
disappeared.
