Peter Pettigrew
The first thing that Severus did, was he went storming out of the room and went directly to the
Gryffindor tower. He attempted to force his way into the house, but the Fat Lady would have none
of this, and screamed for help until one of the teachers arrived. He ended up getting dragged
to Professor Dumbledore\'s office.
\"Albus, Mr. Snape here was trying to force his way into the Gryffindor Tower past curfew.\" Professor
McGonnagal inform Proffesor Dumbledore. Severus scowled.
\"He took my mate so I will kill him.\" Severus snarled angrilly. Dumbledore frowned and folded
his fingers together neatly, studying the boy carefully over them.
\"Who took your mate?\" Dumbledore asked reasonably.
\"Pettigrew.\" He spat. Dumbledore\'s eyebrows jumped up in surprise and McGonnagal gave
Severus a surprised look.
\"Now Severus, why would Peter steal young Harry from you?\" Dumbledore asked.
\"I don\'t know. Why don\'t you try asking him? He left the note in our quarters.\" Severus snarled.
\"I can prove it.\" Severus growled. He threw the note that he had been clutching in his hand the
entire time onto Dumbledore\'s desk.
Dumbledore picked up the note and studied it. His face grew grave, and he cast a charm upon
the note to check it\'s authenticity. He grew even graver when it came up positive as Peter
Pettigrew\'s own handwriting. He then looked up at McGonnagal.
\"Minerva, could you please go get Mr. Pettigrew, and please bring James down as well. He might
be able to reason with Peter if he becomes disagreeable.\" Dumbledore gave Minerva a look that
caused her to become quite sad. She nodded and left.
While she was gone, Severus began to pace around the room. Dumbledore attempted several
times to get him to sit down and calm down, but Severus ignored him completely, and Dumbledore
knew better than to argue with a vampire while it\'s mate was in danger. It was the same with veela\'s
and werewolve\'s.
When McGonnagal showed up, a sleepy looking Peter and James were in front of her. Severus made
to lunge at Peter, but McGonnagal quickly performed a spell that caught Severus in mid air.
Severus landed on the floor with a \'flump\' and was wiggling around, trying to escape the ropes that
he was tied up in, trying to reach Peter, yelling curses that could not be heard through the gag in
his mouth.
This instantly woke James and Peter. Both boys stared at Severus like he was something completely
new to them. As expected, they turned to Dumbledore for answers, but he silenced them with a look.
They saw how grave his face was and how any evidence of a twinkle was missing from his eye.
\"Mr.Pettigrew, would you please inform us of the location of Harry? How you managed to kidnap a
completely transformed werewolf, I do now know, but you must return him immediatly.\" Dumbledore\'s
voice was enough to give you the shivers. It was completely void and grave and icy cold. Peter\'s eye
widened in surprise.
\"What do you mean, Professor?\" Peter asked, twitching nervously. Dumbledore studied him carefully.
\"Mr.Pettigrew, if you hadn\'t wished to be caught, you should not have left a note at the scene of the
crime. Now tell us Mr.Pettigrew, where is Harry?\"
\"I don\'t know Professor! I don\'t know what you\'re talking about! Tell them James! I was asleep all
night!\" Peter said, turning to James pleadingly. James looked uncertain, but he nodded.
\"He\'s telling the truth sir. He went to bed half an hour before I did. I had been helping him with his
transfiguration homework and I had just finished up my herbology homework.\" James explained.
Dumbledore opened one of his drawers and extracted a vial. He looked up at McGonnagal, who nodded
instantly and left the room.
\"Mr.Pettigrew, I need you to take this. This is the only way. It\'s either we give you this or we allow
Mr.Snape to kill you. The choice is yours.\" Peter and James both looked down at Severus, who was
still trying to reach them, but wasn\'t succeeding.
\"I\'ll take it!\" Peter said instantly. He stepped forward and Dumbledore dripped three drops in his mouth.
All emotion disappeared from Peter\'s face.
\"What is your name?\" Dumbledore asked, checking to see if it was working.
\"Peter Pettigrew.\" His voice was monotone. James gulped, recognizing the signs for truth syrum.
\"What did you do this evening after Mr.Black and Mr.Lupin left the Gryffindor tower?\"
\"James and I went down to the kitchen and got food from the house elves and then we returned
upstairs and I talked James into helping me with my transfiguration homework. I then went upstairs
and used the bathroom, and then I went to bed. Then McGonnagal came and woke us up and
brought us down here.\" Peter answered. Dumbledore frowned.
\"So you did not kidnap Mr.Potter?\" Dumbledore asked.
\"No, I did not kidnap James.\" Peter asnwered. It was then that Dumbledore realized his slip up.
\"So you did not kidnap Mr.Peters?\" Dumbledore ammended, but James stored this little slip up in the
back of his mind.
\"No, I did not kidnap Harry.\" Peter asnwered once again.
Dumbledore frowned and was thoughtful. Peter had obviously written the note, and had not been
forced to do so, but who had taken Harry?
