Chapter 14
A/N: This chapter is unbetaed. Sorry about the long wait, but I\'m working now and don\'t have as much time to write. The poll for pairing Severus is closed and the results are begining in this chapter. Please vote for Dudley\'s pairing and what house he should be in. The link is in my profile.
Chapter 14
Ginny had already taken Hermione up to the room that she had been staying in. The girls had decided to bunk together, so that Hermione wouldn’t be alone if she had nightmares.
Harry led Dudley up the stairs and into a room with a large four poster bed and its own bathroom. “This will be your room, Dudley.” Harry watched as Dudley looked around in awe.
“This whole room is mine?” he asked.
Harry laughed. “This is one of the smaller rooms. You have your own bathroom, but I have to tell you that muggle things don’t work here.”
“What do you mean by muggle things?” Dudley questioned. He sat down on the bed and looked around the room again.
Harry sat down beside him. “Well, unless they’re charmed nothing electronic works here.”
Dudley looked at him. “No telly? No computer? No video games?” he babbled. “What do you do for fun?”
Harry leaned back on his elbows. “Well, there are games like exploding snap and gobstones. Or we could teach you to play Quidditch.”
“What is Quidditch?” he asked.
Severus dropped down into the chair in front of the fire, a snifter of brandy in his hand. He had been shocked by the treatment of Harry’s cousin by his parents. If they had treated their own child like that, how had they treated Harry? He closed his eyes and thought back to his treatment of the boy, all of his assumptions about the way the boy lived when he wasn’t at Hogwarts were wrong. How could he expect to be forgiven?
Remus was walking past the library when he caught the scent that had been bothering him. He peeked around the edge of the door. What he saw shocked him, Severus was the only one in the room. He was sitting in front of the fire with his eyes closed.
“Severus?” he said quietly.
Severus opened his eyes and turned toward the werewolf. “What can I do for you Remus?”
The smell that had brought him in here increased when the Potions Master looked at him. “I have smelled something and I have finally found the cause.”
Severus raised his eyebrow. “And what is it that you have found?”
Remus stepped into the room. “You.” He sat down in the chair opposite of Severus. “I have smelled your arousal all day. Who is it that you are attracted to?”
Severus closed his eyes and took a drink of his brandy. “It will pass, it does me no good to want something I can’t have.”
The door opened and Padfoot galloped into the room. He quickly returned to his human form. “Why do I smell lust in this room?” he asked.
Remus sniffed the air. The smell had increased when Sirius had returned to his human form. When the Potions master looked at the two men, the scent of lust was almost a presence. “It’s Sirius and I, isn’t it?”
Harry, Dudley and the Weasley males were in the large backyard. Dudley was flying slowly across the grass, only a few feet from the ground.
“That’s great Dudley,” Harry said. “Once you get the hang of flying, we’ll teach you how to play Quidditch.” The rest of the group mounted their brooms and began flying around the yard.
“Aren’t you afraid that you’re going to fall?” Dudley asked.
They all laughed. “Well, enough of us are of age that we could slow your fall, and mum is great with healing charms,” Fred told him.
Dudley pulled up on the broom and gained some altitude. The back door opened and Molly Weasley stepped out.
She watched as her sons, Harry included, and Dudley flew around the yard. “Come in and eat dinner!” she shouted.
They landed as a group and headed toward the door. “You’re in for a treat Dudley,” Harry said. “Mrs. Weasley is the best cook. The only place I’ve ever eaten as well is at Hogwarts.”
Dudley looked at the table, he saw what looked like enough food to feed a small army. He counted the settings at the table, fourteen. How were fourteen people going to eat it all?
Harry motioned to a chair across the table from him. Dudley went over and sat down. “Harry,” he whispered. “All of this food is for us?”
Harry laughed. “Mrs. Weasley makes a lot of food. As soon as you taste it, you’ll see why. All of the Weasley children have large appetites.”
Molly sat down at the table and looked around at her family. “Dig in.”
After dinner, the younger people in the house and Molly went into the sitting room with Serena. They intended to play exploding snap, and to help Dudley to learn more about the new world he would now be living in.
The older occupants headed for the library, to have an after dinner drink.
Remus and Sirius were sitting in the corner, talking about what they had learned earlier.
“It’s what we both wanted when we were in school,” Sirius said, winking at his husband.
Remus laughed and ran his hand up Sirius’ leg. “You were the one who said that something was missing on the day we bonded and got married,” he retorted.
Sirius leaned close to Remus’ ear. “Maybe it was Severus that was missing. Maybe we should explain to him what we want.”
Remus kissed his lover on the lips. “A one-off is not what we’re going for, correct?”
Sirius ran his tongue across Remus’ lips. “We want him to join us. To bond with us, to marry us, to live with us for the rest of our lives,” he whispered.
The portrait behind them cleared its throat. “Moony, Padfoot, you’re going to have to get him alone,” James said.
They both turned and looked at their best friend.
“Both of you always wanted Severus. It’s about time that you did something about it.”
