A spell of death in the dark


Three weeks later it was starting to warm up some and the thunderstorms started to roll over the school as they came in from the lake. Harry and Trinity were getting really close and so were Hermione and James. James got the permission to stay there for the rest of the year. On the bulletin board over every common room was a huge peace of paper for the Quidditch games with the USA. Harry was already the Seeker from Griffindore and Trinity didn't try out for it this time. But she was their cheering Harry on for it. The keeper was from Hufflepuff and the three chasers were from Ravenclaw and the two beaters were from Slytherin.

Harry had not seen Ron since the night he left with Hagrid. But he must have left cause all of his things was taken out room that Harry and Ron shared with there. Know James has taken the bed that Ron use to sleep in. It was hard not to worry about his friend. The only highlight of the day was when he got to see Trinity. Even Snape was more relaxed with him and that was just scary.

That Friday he was planning to go to Hagrids and talk to him. Angel caught him on the way out and then she had said to him.

" I don't want you to go there, Ron is still there and he is getting worse He dose not want to see any of you guys or even wants to see any of the teacher's. He hates Snape and throws stuff at him whenever he tries’s to come near Hagrids house. The only person he is talking to is Hagrid." Angel said

" What about Hagrid he can't leave his house to teach his class." Harry said.

" That is true, but he has been out side a lot and I have talked to him and he misses you guys greatly." Angel said again as they watch his house.

They went back inside the school and little be known to then Ron was fighting Hagrid. Ron won by using the full body bind and he escapes to the woods.

Later on Harry and Trinity and Hermione and James went into the last class of the day and that was American class. When they walked in they noticed that Angel was slightly agitated at everything she even tried to cover her ears during the listen.

" Well I think that American witches and wizards are funnier to be around and that we all ways travel in packs." James said and out from nowhere Angel stood up and cracked James in the head with her wand.

" Owwww! What did you do that for?" He asked her.

" Cause that was a utterly complete moronic answer I have ever heard and the right know your voice is grating my nerves. Sorry James it's not you." Angel said. Going back to putting her hands over her ears with out much success.

" What is wrong with you?" Draco asking.

" I can hear everything that is going on out side with in the forest and every one is not happy. I have to go to Dumbledore now." Angel answered Draco but it was not what he wanted to here.

She left one of the American teachers to tend to the class. But she didn't go to Dumbledore but went out side and started to sprint to Hagrids place and when she did the door was still left open and Hagrid was not only in the full body charm and was knocked out. Ron was nowhere to be seen or heard. She checked on Hagrid and with the wave of her wand there was as stretcher underneath him and she carried him out into the ground and up to the school just as the last bell rang and every one was heading to dinner. She waited for them to pass and quietly she and the floating Hagrid was going to the hospital wing so far with out Harry knowing. The voices coming from Snape dungeon told him he was down their and that they were coming up she had no where to hind and they came up from the opening and Harry looked like he was petrified on the spot.

" Harry it is ok He is only knocked out." Angel said to him and she continued on her way to the hospital wing.

Snape made Harry go to dinner while Angel left.

" This means that Ron has escaped from him and he is on the loose." Harry said to Snape

" It would seem so, Keep your eye's open and be alert at all times." Snape said to him.

It was not until it was very late and the storms came in when Ron acted and got the cross bow and went up to the tallest point on Hogwarts. Along the way he saw Trinity and grabbed her and then he saw Hermione and he grabbed her. He got to the roof and waited for them to coming looking for him.

Harry and James were looking for the girls and they looked everywhere until they ran into Hagrid that just had woken up from being knocked out.

" What are you guys doing up so late?" He asked.

" We are looking for Hermione and Trinity they are not in their dorms or any where else." Harry said.

" That is strange, But they will turn up soon so don't freight about it." Hagrid said. He left to go to his house and fix what ever was broken.

" I think I know who took them and where he is at is good guessing." James said to Harry.

" I think so too. But where could he be?" Harry was looking around when he noticed that part of the tower was the highest one in Hogwarts. They went up and at the top there was a trap door and they went up to it and climbed more and then they were on the roof. They noticed that Trinity and Hermione was in the middle and was tied to a metal rod.

" Trinity?" Harry asked as he went to get her untied. James did the same for Hermione who was ready to leave when James ask.

" Would you please get Snape and Angel, Have them come up here right behind you." Hermione was gone in a flash and got down to where Snapes office was when the door opened up to the where Snape was and Angel was close behind him and she then noticed the look on Hormone’s face as she explained what had happened and Snape and Angel were on the way to where Harry was trying to get Trinity.

Snape looked over and then he noticed that Ron was in the shadows waiting.

" Ron what are you doing hear anyway?" Snape asked.

" I am here to finish what I had started." He said. Ron walked up to where Harry was and threw him out of the way and bent down and whispered into Trinity's ear she woke up with a start.

" Ron What are you doing? I am your best friend." Harry said to Ron.

" Was is more like it. But that is nothing compared what I have in store for you Harry." Ron said.

" You are a mindless slacked jawed and pointless to the fact that you are a pain in the ass." Trinity said and spit into Ron’s face.

Ron quickly slapped trinity across the face and did it again harder. Trinity was not making a sound to let Ron have the satisfaction of knowing that she was about to cry.

Snape was all most their when Harry pointed his wand at Snape and Angel and the said " I'll take care of this. Ron it is I that you want not her or anyone else. Lets go."

" That sounds good to me." Ron said and raised his wand up and then to the side he raised his arms up and Harry did the same thing. The clouds darkened and the lightning flashed furiously and more closely to where Ron and Harry was standing. Thunder rumbled all around them Angel went over to where Trinity was and untied her from the metal rod that was sticking up.

" Well I think this is my.................... Harry?" Ron said.

" What?" Harry answered.

" Kill me please? I can not hold him back much longer." Good Ron said back to him.

" Ron you know that I can not do that." Harry said back.

" I want you to do it." Ron pleaded to him.

" I.I can't not you I can't do it." Harry said back.

" Fine then." With a wave of his wand he pointed it at Harry and then said.

"Expelliarmus."


Harry went flying into the edged that was high enough for him not to go over. It had triggered a reaction and the crossbow went off and was heading for Ron but James caught it and the tip was buried into Ron’s head just an inch. James pulled it out and dropped it.

" We are not going to let you go that way Ron." James said to him. Ron pushed him away and stood next to the lightning rod and waited for the lighting to strike the iron rod. Down some where on the ground Lucius Malfoy held his wand that pointed at Ron and raised it and yelled out just as the lightning bolt hit that rod.

"Avada Kedavra,"

It left his wand as the lightning hit Ron. Ron was dead before the lightning electrocuted his body. When it was done Ron’s body was sitting down still holding his wand at Harry. Angel slowly walked up to Ron and took out the wand that crumbled in to ash. Then she reached out and touched his artery to see if the was a pulse. There was none. Angel looked up and closed Ron’s eyes and moved him to lay him flat on his back and took off her cloak and covered him up.

" Snape go and get Dumbledore, He needs to get a hold of Ron's parents." Angel said. Snape left to get Dumbledore and Angel stayed up there with the rest of the group. Trinity had tears in her eyes and was hugging Harry tightly. Hermione lost it and she opened the locket that he had given to her at Christmas. There it was and she opened it up and a note dropped from it. It read.


(Dearest Hermione,


I am sorry but I have to do this it will be not long before I kill myself so I don't hurt anyone else. I am sorry that I had hurt you so bad for you to forgive me. I will always be your friend.


Love you forever.
Ronald Weasley)


Then she looked at the locket that held a picture of him smiling and waving. On the other side it was the saying that he had said to them a while ago. (Friends are Forever and never leave your side.) Hermione eye's filled up with bigger tears and held on to James and cried into his shoulder.

Angel got up from where she was crunching down over Ron and walked over to where Harry was and put her hand on his shoulder and he let out a small gasp of what might have been a cry but what ever it was Harry did not show it to any one. Then they saw the head of Dumbledore and then the head of Xero and then Mcgonnagall and then Snape and went over to where Angel was.

Dumbledore lifted up Angel's cloak and inspected Ron. Then he put it back over him and walked away to where the kids were standing next to each other. " I am sorry you all will be excused from all exams. I must go and inform the Weasley." Dumbledore said. He left them out side.

" If it is all to you sir, we want to do the exams and our N.E.W.T.S. It will keep our minds off of it." Harry said to Dumbledore.

" Ok Harry you guys can. It will be hard and I will let you know when everything will go down for the things for Ron." Dumbledore said to them.


There was other people sanding in the hall waiting to hear what had happened. Dumbledore didn't say anything to them but went up to his office and started to write to the Weasley's about tonight’s events. Angel and Snape ushered the caretakers to where Ron was and they picked him up on the stretcher and carried him out of the school in front all of the students and fellow Griffindore's in clouding Ginny. Who was not out side but she did know what happened.

Angel saw Ginny and went over to her and took her into the school room next to them and every one heard Ginny cry very loudly and then was taken by Angel up to Dumbledore's office and that is where she stayed until her parents came the next morning.

Mr. and Mrs. Weasley came in and was greeted by Dumbledore and then was taken to the hospital wing. That was all they heard of them. No one saw them leave with Ron or see the heartbreak that his mother had suffered from it.

It was quiet throw out the school no one talked to the four or even to Snape and Angel. Draco came up to Harry and looked at him. Harry was waiting for him to make a snide remark.

" I just wanted to say that I give my condolences to you Harry and the rest of you guys for losing your friend Ron." Draco said to them who was in shock once again of how nice he was.

" Thank you Draco." Harry said to him. Draco left them to go to the common room of Slytherin.

Mrs. Weasley that the funeral will be held next weekend and the Dumbledore said that they could attend to it sent the letters to them to them. Snape and Angel got one too and so did the rest of Griffindore.

The week went by slowly as the school was coming back to be the way it was. Harry Hermione and Trinity and James got ready to leave for the funeral that Friday as they packed up a light case to go. They met Angel and Snape waiting for them as well as most of Griffindore and there was Mcgonnagall and Dumbledore. He left the school with Xero to attended to things, as he was gone. They went to the station and got on the train to go back to London and they got dressed in muggle clothing and excited the station in Kings Crossing with the Order walking around the whole group.

They all got into the house on Grimwold place and they saw Mrs. Weasley there as she greeted them and sorted the girls from the boys and set their rooms to them all. The place was finally habitual for humans to live there as it was a haven for the order to stay or live. While the students where up in there rooms Dumbledore held a meeting for the order in one of the rooms. It lasted for a while as lupin and the rest gave reports about everything that has to do with Voldemort. The next day every one was ready to go to say good-bye for the last time. The funeral was held in the cemetery of the Weasley's plots.

Slowly one by one the students from Griffindore said their good-byes as well most of the order. The last to go was Angel and Snape, Angel laid a red and a yellow rose on top of his casket and then was led off by Snape as the tears came rolling down her cheeks. Then came Hermione and James, Hermione laid a gold locket on his casket and she too was led off bye James. Harry and Trinity came next, Harry had not said anything or even cried to any one, and He himself laid Ron's twister broomstick on top and Ron’s robe’s robes. He walked away with no emotion and stood next to Angel and Snape. Dumbledore and Mcgonnagall came up and aid the flag of Hogwarts crest on his casket and then gave one to the family.

The casket went down and they all left the cemetery quiet and subdued. At the Grimwold place there was a spectacular dinner waiting for them all in the huge dining room. Harry didn't go to it he was up to the room that he and Ron had shared when they were there.

Angel went up to Trinity and asked where Harry was. Trinity said.

" I have not seen him since we got back from the funeral, I am worried he has not said a word to any one about anything."

" Well I will go and look for him." Angel said to her.

Angel went up to the second floor landing and tired the doors until she came to the one that he and Ron shared last summer. She opened it up and looked in their Harry was standing in between the beds staring into nothing. Angel came in and softly closed the door to the room.

" Harry? Talk to me." She said to him. He didn't move or seem that he even heard.

" Harry?" She said again. Then he turned to her and said nothing to her.

" It should have never had happened, I should have known that this would have happened. Cedric and Sirius and now Ron. I am a menace to any one around me." He softly said. It had started to rain and then thunder rolled across the sky.

" We didn't even see it coming Harry it is not your fault you have to stop blaming yourself for every little thing that happens or the actions that Voldemort has done to any one in this world. You are 16 and have the weight of the world on your shoulders. Let some one else shoulder that weight for a while." Angel said to him.

" I can't do that Angel, I have to carry this. I let Ron die in front of me and did nothing about it." Harry said back

" Harry I know how you feel. I have lost friends that were close and dear to me. You are not the only one who lost Ron remember his mother and father and his sister and brothers. Harry you are not the only one that is grieving about him. I loved Ron losing him was like losing my son." Angel said back to Harry.

That was it the damn broke and the tears had started to roll down. Angel crossed the room and sat down on the bed as he sat down next to her and laid his head on her shoulder and let it out. There was a knock on the door and Angel said.

" Come in."

Dumbledore opened the door and walked in and closed it behind him.

" Is he going to be all right? " He asked.

Angel shrugged her shoulders to say she didn't know.

" We will leave in the afternoon tomorrow and Mrs. Weasley wants Harry and Hermione to come down in a little while." He said to her.

" Ok Ill tell him, I think he fell asleep?" Angel said to Dumbledore.

" No I am awake, Tell her Ill be down in a few." Harry said

Dumbledore opened the door and left. Harry picked himself up and wiped the tears away. He felt better since he let it out and he was ready to face everyone now.

" Thanks Angel for being there for me." Harry said and got ready to go back down stairs.

" Harry do some thing for me talk to your friends too that is what they are here for. They need you just as much as you need them. Talk to Trinity she will listen that she got from me." Angel said as she followed Harry to down stairs. Some of the kids were talking amongst each other and somewhere talking to people from the order. Mrs. Weasley looked bad in Harry's eye's he crossed the room and stood next to her and waited for her to say something to him.

' Harry dear, I have something that belong to Ron and we think it would be only right for you to have it." She said to him and held out a book that held nothing but Quidditch teams and everything else about it. Then she gave him the picture of them the first time that Harry came there. Harry thanked her and walked away with tears and he went to where Trinity was standing and she put her arms around him and gave him a hug.

" Hermione sweetie, I know that you and Ron were at odds in the end but to let you know that we are not mad about it and you are always welcome to the house just like Harry, You both are like a son and daughter to us. Here are something that Ron had associated to you." She gave her a book of poems that he had marked that he thought was fitting to Hermione etc. Then there was some other stuff. Hermione went back and stood next to James.


" Me and Arthur thank you all for coming and that you we were Ron's friends and class mates this is just a sign that he was a good kid no matter what had happened." Molly said with tears in her eyes and went into the other room to finish her fit alone. The twins were at her side and Charlie was next to his father. That was it and the kids went up to their rooms and was getting ready to go to bed. Then Dumbledore called on Harry and Hermione and Trinity and James and said.

" We are breaking the rules of the Order and you guys will join it now. But you will not be called out until you guys are out of school. Got it?"

" Sure I think we can handle that. James said. " How do we join anyway?"

" By this you will swear to up hold the law of the order and give your services undaughtly no make what the task is and if another one of the Order is in trouble you will there to help them and undo what Voldemort has done. By this you join my arm as well." Dumbledore said.

All four of them looked at each other and then to Dumbledore and said in unison " We will do what you want and not turn our backs on you or the Order of the Phoenix. This we swear until our dying day and protect it by our lives."

Dumbledore looked pleased to hear this. He let them go to the beds as well. He and the rest stayed up.

" Do you think it is wise for them to join at this early of age?" Snape asked him.

" I think it will be all right Severus, if I remember you were not that much older and after Voldemort was gone and I stuck up for you at the hearings. I think you have done well Severus. I know it has been difficult on you. But you can shoulder that with Angel who loves you no matter what has happened in the past. She is good for you and you to complement each other well. As for the four I think Harry looks up to you as a father figure a lot he might not show it but I can tell. " Dumbledore said to Snape who looked horrified at the thought.

" But surely that is the utmost ludicrous idea I have ever heard." Snape said to Dumbledore.

" You may deny it but we know better than that." Dumbledore said back and got up and went to his room and got ready for the bed that was calling him to sleep.

Angel walked in with Molly to make sure the kids got into bed and other things. Angel looked over and shock her head at Molly and then casted her eyes down word. She went up to Snape and they them selves went to the bedrooms and got ready to sleep. For the big move back to Hogwarts.

The next morning was a quiet one as the kids and teachers got ready to leave to go to Hogwarts. That afternoon they said their good-byes to the Weasley’s and got into the cars that was provided for them and went to the station and got on to Plat form 9 3/4 to get on the train that would take them to Hogsmeade station. The got their and they were all met with wagons that took them back to Hogwarts. So the day ended in a quiet note and every one was ready to start up a new week of classes.
