Team Meeting
Chapter 14 – “Team Meet
((Younger Sister – Short chapter…Elder has been busy with school so we have not had a lot of time to write but I am hoping that since she has settled into her schedule more chapters will be coming soon))
Harry didn’t think they were being serious. Not the whole team. But now there was an entire Quidditch team sitting around in a circle inside the hut where the Quidditch equipment was stored. And, much to Harry’s embarrassment, they were talking about how to get Tuardae to have sex with him. His head was buried in his hands, his black shaggy hair rooted through his fingers, his glasses left on his knees as his palms dug into his eyes. This was not happening.
“Well, he could always take her out on a date,” Dean said, polishing his broom.
They were all there on the guise of cleaning and preparing equipment for the Easter Break. Everyone had a broom, except Harry, who’d been given the Quidditch balls to clean and polish. They were still sitting in the box next to a clean rag and a bottle of cleaning fluid. He would get to cleaning them eventually, just not at the moment. And he wouldn’t touch the Bludgers. Damn things.
“But we’re about to go on Easter Break!” Ginny said, shaking her head. “Unless they both stay, sounds like Harry’s going to be getting beaten up by the Princess of Darkness.”
Harry’s head came up, his face rising from behind his hands. “Princess of Darkness?” he asked. Without his glasses he couldn’t see if Ginny was being serious or not so he picked them up and put them on, reaching for the Golden Snitch and the polishing cloth afterwards.
Seamus nodded. “That’s what everyone’s calling her.”
“She’s got that ‘I’ll kill you’ aura if you piss her off,” Ron added.
Ginny smiled and put her broom back, grabbing another. “So what does this leave us?”
Harry scowled. “I don’t need help getting laid.”
“Sounds like you do,” Dean said, waving a scrub brush at him.
The door opened and everyone tensed, looking up as a cold rush of air blew in through the hut, making everyone shiver.
A wave of relief passed through everyone as Hermione took off her scarf. “Sorry,” she said, sitting down next to Harry and grabbing a cloth and the Quaffle. “I was helping Professor McGonagall with something and I couldn’t get away. So have we found a way to get Harry and Tuardae together?” she asked, starting to clean.
Everyone shook their heads. Harry scrubbed harder on the Golden Snitch, which was struggling futilely in his hands. It was slightly embarrassing, screw slightly, it was completely embarrassing. With a sigh he pushed the Snitch back into the box and looked at the Bludgers, dirty and starting to rust. Oh well, he sure as hell wasn’t going to clean them. He threw down the cloth and put his elbows on his knees, looking around at everyone. “Well, every time we’ve come close, someone’s always come around.”
“What about the Room of Requirement?” asked Seamus.
“No,” Hermione said, shaking her head. “Since they found out about that in fifth year Filch checks it every half hour now.”
“The passageway behind – ”
“Caved in last year.”
“The basement?”
“Of the candy store?”
“Yeah.”
“No way man. Ernie and some Ravenclaw got caught last year.”
“I heard about that!”
“Yeah, it was a total scandal!”
Harry glared at them. “Hey, can we get back on topic?”
They all sat and started cleaning, thinking as smooth cloths moved over shiny brooms. Occasionally the clack of a broom being put back on the rack and the scratch of a dirty one was heard as they were exchanged as the team thought.
“What about in here?”
Hermione looked up. “That is just gross.”
Ginny shrugged. “It’s actually not that bad,” she said with a sly grin.
Ron dropped the broom he was working on and glared at Seamus. “You did WHAT?!”
Seamus help up his hands and started stuttering, trying to formulate an excuse.
Ginny responded first, throwing a towel at him. “Oh shut up. Stupid Weasly. It was my idea!” she snapped.
Ron’s ears were red. “Yank it! You’re a Weasly too you know!” he spat back, the only thing he could think of to say in response. He threw a dirty glance at Seamus who was shifting uncomfortably where he sat next to Ginny who was ignoring Ron completely.
“You know, it’s not entirely possible that she’ll leave for Easter,” Hermione said, being logical as she polished the Quaffle, not looking up. “They didn’t leave for Christmas, what makes you think they’ll leave for Easter? I mean, they do live all the way in the States you know. They talk eloquently when they want to, but they still don’t have an accent. I’m surprised you guys had forgotten that little detail.”
“That’s right,” Ginny said.
“I suppose that’s the best we can hope for, don’t you think?” Ron said, standing up and stretching before putting his current broom back.
Harry sighed and stood up, watching everyone else do the same. “I suppose so.”
They all trudged up to the castle, talking and chatting easily. Harry walked with heavy steps. Avari didn’t seem like she was joking when she’d threatened him to have sex with Tuardae. That in itself was mind boggling. It was just a little too weird. What was up with this family anyway? They trudged into the Hall for lunch and Harry was hungry, having overslept breakfast that morning.
“Harry! Over here!” Tuardae said, waving from where she sat. “I’ve got some news from home!”
Harry waved to Hermione who went to sit with Parvati and went to sit with Turadae. On his way over he noticed Avari staring at him from where she sat at the Slytherin table next to Blaze who was staring at her adoringly, even though she was ignoring him. She had a sly look on her face as she twiddled her fingers in a greeting that somehow seemed to make Harry shiver. He sat down next to Tuardae and kissed her cheek.
Avari watched Harry sit down and thought about the piece of parchment in her jacket pocket. It was a letter from home, sweet but short. “We miss you, and we want you to come home for Easter. We’ve even included two extra tickets for each of you to bring a friend. – T’la and Cieyua T’lageos.” She already knew that Tuardae was thinking about taking Harry, and if she wasn’t then Avari would have to convince her ditzy older sister.
