Chapter 13- Snake Bite

Walking dazed through the streets of Hogsmade, Hermione contemplated Draco's actions. He wasn't being an arse really, more like, hell she couldn't even think of what to call him! Her mind was twisted around different ideas and thoughts of what he could possibly want from her in just half an hour. The brunette stood outside of the Leaky Cauldron, watching her friends through the steam-fogged windows, laughing and flirting with their other half. Why didn't she have someone like that? Was she really that unattractive? Sighing heavily, she swayed in the snow, wondering why it was impossible for anyone to look at HER, not Harry-Potter's Brilliant-Friend. Glancing at the Clock Tower on St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries she saw that it was almost time for her to meet Draco in the common room.

"May as well get this over with." she said out loud.

"Oi, going to kill your self there Granger?" spinning around, she saw Blaise standing just a few feet away.

"Excuse me?"

"You look so depressed and saying 'May was well get this over with', usually turns out bad." Blaise replied, looking at her with a smile painted on his dark skin. The contrast between his skin and the whites of his eyes and teeth made him look darker, like the midnight sky.

"Oh, no no. I have to go meet my 'Lord and Master'. The ruddy git. Bossing me around." Hermione huffed. Really, where does he get off?

"Usually in his room, like most blokes." Chuckled Blaise. This was one hell of a girl, she left her thoughts unguarded too much for such a smart witch. Pity.

"Pardon?" What was with the Slytherin males? Its like they can read your mind!

"We can." Laughed Blaise. Finally she was catching on. He watched as surprise then anger roll on and off her face, faster than the Nimbus 2001 in the air. Blaise smiled at her warmly and said, "It was part of our training as young poor bloods. Though who went to be a part of You-Know-Who were forced into honing on their skills further. Don't be shocked if your 'Lord and Master' does it to you often. Especially now." He smirked.

"What?! You mean you can hear what I'm thinking!?" Hermione's faced glowed with anger. Was nothing sacred anymore? She studied the man before her, who was still smiling like a little kid who got away with the cookie crime. Then she pondered. "Now? What do you mean by now?"

"Ah, that's for me to know and you to find out. Now go find Draco before he finds you. Your late enough as it is." Glancing up at the Clock Tower again, she saw that it was 3:15, fifteen minutes late

"Oh, bugga." She cursed. Looking back down she noticed that Blaise had vanished into the crowd. 'Honestly, I think that that's the most I have ever seen or heard from him.' Turning to leave, Hermione jogged up the run down path the Hogwarts: School of Witch Craft and Wizardry.

Pacing the width of the Heads Common Room, Draco ran his hands through his unruly hair. 'Fifteen minutes late, does no one respect punctuation anymore?' Glancing around the room, he took in the shared space, how both of their House colors would touch each other in different places. Since the beginning of school, they had changed the interior design. 'Something more cheerful', Hermione had said. The white arm chairs stood on the deep rich burgundy. The dark book shelves had stayed though, off in the niche of the room. Draco walked over to the shelf, hoping to find a book to pass the time waiting for the Gryffindor Princess. Seeing various books, he scanned the shelf labeled "Defense Against the Dark Arts". Hermione was into the whole labeling and organizing thing. Which, he had to admit, made finding things much easier. Scanning the shelf he saw, The Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Protection by Quentin Trimble and Practical Defensive Magic and its Use Against the Dark Arts. Deciding to go with the later of the two, he walked over to the chair he had claimed, and sat down, leafing through the pages, the words turning into blurred images before his eyes. The blond's thoughts wondered, back to his conversation with Blaise, his best bloke.

Blaise always seemed to know exactly what to do. Mind you, Draco wasn't helpless, its just that,
Blaise had what seemed like the experience of Dumbledore. He could tell you why things would happen the way they did. Like, why the Earth circled the Sun, and not the other way around. He knew how to handle almost any situation. He knew his way around the ladies. Draco smirked, Blaise got that from his mother, the whore that she was. Blaise was pretty much an...what did the muggles call it? An Ency a bile? No, en...encyclopedia! Just a wealth of knowledge. It came in handy when he asked about what Blaise called, "wooing" Hermione. She was an enigma. Fascinated him in such away he was almost obsessed. Almost. Her beauty blossomed, almost as if it were over night. The way her caramel curls were tamed after years of bushiness. Her eyes, oh how he adored her eyes. Such fire, yet they were soft. The intelligence that shown through were beyond her years. He sighed.

The door creaked on its old and stiff hinges as Hermione opened it. Feeling the warmth of the common room, she knew Draco was here. Seeing his figure on what she called, "The King's Thrown", she noticed he was engrossed in a book. She smiled. And she was always picked on for her love of books. If the whole school knew that The Draco Malfoy loved books, she'd be sure his new nickname had nothing to do with "Sex God of Slytherin" or "Prince of Slytherin". Not a chance in Azkaban. Walking over to him, she coughed under her breath. Seeing him jump slightly she watched him turn around to face her.

"You wanted to see me, Malfoy?"

"Granger. So nice of you to finally stop by. Too busy blowing Weasel and Potty?" he smirked. Setting the book down, he watched her face for any protest about not putting the book back in its proper spot.

"What do you want?" she drawled. Hermione crossed her arms, and tapped her foot. Really, she had better things to do. Sure, she couldn't name them right then and there, but she could find something to do. Noticing the book, the Draco carelessly did not put back, she walked over picked it up, and put it back on the shelf in its place. Sensing Draco behind her, she turned to see his face, only a foot away.

"Couldn't resist could you?" he breathed huskily. His warm breath was felt on the top of her head, sending chills down her back, and leaving goose bumps on her warm skin.

"Re...resist what?" she stammered.

"You know, HERMIONE."

"Oh, the book. Well, you weren't going to put it back, and I like keeping things organized so..." she was interrupted when his body pressed hers farther into the shelf. His warm body molded against hers, letting her feel the hardness of his body. She shivered again. Was it cold in here?

"No, silly Gryffindor. Coming to talk to me." Draco smiled down at her from his impressive height. He felt a shiver rack her body. Smiling even wider, he pushed his body further into hers. She felt amazing against him, almost if she was designed to hung in his curves. The natural scent of mango wafted up to his nose. Inhaling he groaned deep in his chest.

"Um, Malfoy?" She couldn't take it anymore. She didn't care that he felt amazing under his hands, or that his power radiated off of him, making her weak in the knees. She didn't even care that he smelt so wonderful that it made warmth rush to her stomach, he was still the number one git.

"Yes, HERMIONE?" Draco leaned forward, his lips just brushed her exposed neck. He heard an sharp intake of breath, like the air left her lungs. Smirking against her skin, he found that her scent was even stronger on her skin. "Mango am I right?"

"Wha...what?"

"Mango. You bathe in mango scented soap, yes?" He pressed as he nudged his nose up by the shell of her ear. Her curls tickled his eye lashes and her chest started to labor in what he knew was excitement. "If I didn't know any better Hermione, I'd say that you liked this."

"That ridiculous," building up her Gryffindor courage, Hermione bit the bullet and protested against the dark Slytherin." Why would I like your ferret ass in my face? Further more, why do you keep calling me by my given name?"

"Well, I don't see you struggling, HERMIONE. And, because, don't you think that since we live so CLOSE to each other that we should be respectful and call each other by our given names?" Placing small kisses at the bottom of her ear lobe, Draco pulled the small flap of skin in between his teeth, gently biting her. Hearing another sharp intake, he pressed on. "Come on, say it."

"Say....say what?" Hearing him chuckle deep in his chest, she sighed heavily at the feeling of the vibrations that were sent through her chest from his.

"My name."

"Malfoy." He growled and pressed his body further into hers. Nipping her ear again, he pulled her hands up and over her head, holding them above the section labeled, "Favorites". "No, say my name HERMIONE."

"Dra.....Draco." As soon as the last syllable was said, his lips crashed down onto hers, locking her in the most heated kiss she had ever experienced.
