Ending the Abuse

James and Remus slipped into the house unnoticed. “Split up,” James said quietly to Remus.

“If you find her, send off the signal.” With that James gave Remus a small coin with a spell on it. With a certain spell, it would heat up the other one.

Remus opted to take the upstairs, and almost fell off the top step when he saw Avery on the floor, but he was unconscious. Just for reassurance, Remus petrified him, and gagged him as well. Had it been any other situation, Remus would have kill him on the spot, but he was more concerned with finding Lily.

James took the downstairs, opening every door slowly. He found nothing. The furniture was completely trashed, the wallpaper was beginning to peel off, and there was garbage all over the place.

He found the dining room where all the death eaters had been sitting. Empty bottles were all over the ground, fags were still smoking in the ashtrays, though they were almost all burnt out.

Remus had been through all the rooms upstairs, and found nothing. He prayed that Lily was here, and he was not wrong once again. He walked back down the hall, stepping over Avery’s stiff body, and going down the stairs warily.

Sirius had ducked into a cave as two death eaters ran by him. Too close for comfort. He set off another spell across the forest, and the same two ran by once again. It was like playing a game of cat and mouse.

“Anything?” Remus asked James, who almost jumped out of his skin. “Sorry.”

James shook his head as the two of them went into the kitchen. Almost as soon as James’ shoes hit the tile floor, a loud yelp from a woman erupted below him.

“Lily!” James hissed, and looked around the kitchen. Then he saw the basement door.

“Stay here,” James said and opened the door very slowly and quietly. He figured that Lily yelled because there was someone down there, and he would have to be on his guard. Before he went though, he flicked off the kitchen light, so no one would notice a change in light as he descended the steps.

Remus nodded in agreement, and stood by the kitchen entrance, watching the place, and staying out of view of the window. Avery had not woken up from what he could tell, and if he had, he was in for a surprise.

Lily had cried out when Evan grabbed her hair, pulling hard. She was sure some of her hair had been pulled out.

“That’s it pet,” Evan grunted. He was very close to coming, and he wanted to hear her shriek again. Evan was so absorbed in what he was doing, he did not hear the door open.

James slipped down the stairs, glad that no one had hear him come down. He could barely make out the figure in the far corner, and he squinted his eyes to see.

After his heart had stopped pounding in his ears, he heard it. He could hear a man grunting, as well as heavy breathing. James nearly froze in his tracks from shock. He did not have to see anything to know what was going on.

“Relax,” Evan said to Lily, as he nipped her ear. “This isn’t so bad is it?” He panted into her ear.

James heard, and his blood boiled over. His eyes had adjusted to the dim light, and he could make out what was going on. Someone was raping his wife, right in front of him. Anger took over James body, and he quickly ran at the man forgetting all about his wand, and using brunt force.

Lily heard the footsteps before Evan did, and screamed as someone knocked Evan over. It had scared her, but it also hurt how fast he was pulled out of her.

Remus was upstairs and heard the commotion, but he did not budge. He needed to keep an eye out for what was going on outside.

Sirius had slipped out of the cave, and made his way through the woods again. Ten minutes had gone by and Sirius was beginning to panic. He was running out of ways to distract them, and they would soon go back into the house.
