I do not own Harry Potter, nor any of the characters from the books or movies. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Chapter 12: I thought those were legends . . .right?
Hi everyone! Shiny-chan is back! Big warning for all my readers. This chapter will knock your socks off! I had the most fun
I’ve had in a while when I was writing this because I was following Bats’ advice and I get to finally make a cool cliffie!
Yeah, I know you’re all gonna hate me for it but I just wanna do a huge evil laugh. MUAHAHAHAHAHAcoughcough! Yeah, I’m done
now. Time to respond to my reviewers.
Thrnbrooke: I’m so glad you like Genkai! She is seriously one of the coolest Yu Yu Hakusho characters ever! She is definantly
the strongest old lady I’ve ever heard of! Thanks for staying with me! Please keep reviewing!
Bats: I wanted Genkai to seem demonic and overbearing because that’s what I think the wizards need. She’s a swift kick in the
arse they’ve been needing for a while. If you really think about it, what would they do if their wands were broken? They’d be
helpless! Also, about Hiei, sarcasm is appreciated so I’ll do my best to bring the snarking back! I’ll have to have a
snarking competition between Hiei and Snape for you or something. That’s something I’d really laugh my butt off writing!
Enough babbling for Shiny-chan! On with the story!
XD
Chapter 12: with a pile of multi-colored silk ribbons! Softness! Purrrrrrrrrr
The five students walked into the DADA classroom, surprised to see it silent and still, not in the middle of a lecture. The
teacher turned to them and Harry studied him for a minute. The teacher stood at about Harry’s height, but he was slender,
almost anorexically thin. He was wearing black cargo pants with light blue stitching up the sides, an obsidian tank top with an
ice blue mesh shirt over that. His ice colored eyes that seemed to have no pupil (surely a spell) were gazing coolly at them
through the spiky sea-green bangs that differed from the azure of the rest of his hair. Professor Touya Yukinosama gestured to
the empty seats that had been reserved for them. They quietly took their seats and Harry gave the slight professor an
apologetic grin. His chilling stare pierced Harry.
“Please tell me why you were late when we were waiting on you?” Harry raised his hand and answered him cautiously.
“I’m sorry Professor. Genkai-sensei asked us to stay behind so she could talk to us.” Touya nodded and turned to the board and
began to write. When he turned around, he had written the word ‘Demons’ on the board.
“Who can tell me something about demons?” Hermione’s hand shot up in the air and Touya pointed to her.
“Go ahead Miss.” Hermione took a deep breath before launching into her knowledge of the subject.
“Demons, or daemons as they are sometimes called, are legendary soulless creatures that are reported to live in the Demon
Plane. They were sealed in that plane thousands of years ago to control their powers. Today it is questioned whether they ever
existed at all as they have never been seen since then.” Yusuke snorted and began to snicker, completely unperturbed by the
heated glare she threw at him. The professor began to walk in between the desks towards the back of the classroom, talking as
he went.
“Well Granger-san, that explanation is good in theory, but it is not correct.” The class let out an audible gasp at the idea
that Hermione Granger was wrong for once. Touya continued to walk around the classroom, touching Kurama lightly on the
shoulder, which made Yusuke growl in jealousy.
“Minamino-san, please tell the class the truth about demons.” Kurama looked at Touya quizzically before beginning to speak.
“Some of what Hermione said was true, for example, the demons were sealed in the demon plane. However, the barrier was made to
keep A-class demons and above away from the humans, who could not handle their power. The barrier made for the B-class and
under is weak and continually ruptures in hot spots around Japan and Iceland, where demons are sighted almost daily. However,
not all demons are bad and to be feared, and they are most certainly not soulless.” Touya gave him a slight smile and turned to
the board and wrote next to his previous writing. The board now read, ‘Demons- Destroying the myths’.
“Very good Minamino-san! Twenty points to Gryffindor. This year, I will be teaching you the truth about demons and I will
vanquish the myths you have been taught over the years. I will also teach you ways to defend yourself from demons. If you see
one right now, you’d be no match for it. Run as fast as you can.” Ron raised his hand.
“Yes Weasley-san?”
“Why do we need to learn how to defend ourselves from demons? Suichi just said that the spots where they appear are Japan and
Iceland which are nowhere near here.” Touya froze for a second before his face became an emotionless mask.
“Headmaster Dumbledore has received information that Voldemort may be working with demons.” Almost the entire class flinched at
the horror that demons and Voldemort working together could present. Touya turned back to the board and created a list below
the title.
Demons-Destroying the Myths
Types of demons
1. Elementals
2. Animal
3. Humanoid
“These three types of demons are the ones most commonly . . .” SLAM!!!! The door flew open and ricocheted off of the wall,
shuddering at the impact. A man stood there, stooped over, and trying to catch his breath. As if they were synchronized
swimmers, the whole class turned to stare at the newcomer who smiled sheepishly.
“Sorry I’m late Touya-sama. Pomfrey wanted to examine me to make sure I was real before she would let me leave the hospital
wing.” He said playfully. Harry’s eyes widened as he saw what should have been impossible. His breathing quickened until he
was hyperventilating. His vision began to close in and Harry fainted.
