Not so 'good' goodbye

Beta'd by: Megan (meglw0228) Thanks darling!!!!

Albus and Scorpius were sitting in Narcissa's room, waiting to see if Severus would come see them. "Severus?" Al finally gave up waiting and tried calling to the ghost.

"I was beginning to wonder how long your patience would last. What is it boys?" He appeared on the other side of the room, just beside the window.

"Why is it that you're here? I mean, are you stuck in the Manor?"

"Or do you only come to visit Narcissa?" they asked.

"No, I'm not stuck. Yes, I only visit Cissy. And as for why, I'm afraid that's complicated, boys."

"There you two..... Professor?" Harry and Draco walked in and Harry almost immeaditly fainted upon seeing
Severus' ghost.

"Well, Draco, you move him downstairs. Boys, go find Narcissa. I'll meet you there." Once again, Severus Snape's ghost dissappeared, only to reappear in the library. Narcissa was already there, rereading one of her favorite muggle novels. "Eclipse again, Cissy? Really, you need more reading material."

"Hello Severus. Is everything alright?" She placed her bookmark in the right place and addressed her oldest friend.

"Sort of. Albus and Scorpius were talking to me when Draco and Harry walked in. Harry fainted." He explained.

"Hi Grandma." Scor greeted her as they walked in, Draco floating Harry with them.

"Hello boys. I suppose we should wait for Harry to wake up, shouldn't we?"

It didn't take very long at all. Harrys' eye lids fluttered slightly before slowly opening. Thankfully, the first thing he saw was his son, and not Severus.

"You always did seem to have a knack for fainting, Mr. Potter." Severus stated from next to Narcissa.

"What's going on?" Harry asked, closing his eyes and falling back to the couch again. "I saw you die, Professor."

"I'm hardly a Professor, anymore. I am however a ghost. Your mother, father, Lupin, and Black say hello, by the way." Harry sat straight up again.

"You've talked to them?"

"I've talked to Lily and Lupin." Severus corrected.

"Wait, I'm lost." Al stated, looking between his father and Severus.

"Snape was best friends with my mum when they were young." Harry said by way of explianation.

"I learned to deal with Lupin and get along with him for the most part. However, Black and James Potter and I still can't stand the presence of each other. Oh, and Albus says hello as well. I told him what you named your son and he merely twinkled in that annoying way he does." Severus rolled his eyes but it made Harry smile slightly.

"Severus, I still don't get how it's complicated. Why are you here?" Scorpius wanted answers from the ghost.

"To make up for past mistakes." He answered. Harry looked at him and tilted his head ever so slightly to the left. "Someone had to keep you grounded. But as your mother's best friend, I didn't do a very good job."

"I knew there was a reason you were helping me." Narcissa stated, a smug grin in place.

"Be quiet, Cissy."

"Helping you? Mother, what did you do?" Draco demanded.

"Simple. I helped all of my boys find their own happiness." She smiled at her son. For seemingly no reason at all, she got up and sat at the grand piano in the east corner of the room. "And now that that's taken care of, I can spend more time in here." She looked around the library which had always been a source of entertainment for her. She put her fingers to the keys and began playing a song Harry didn't know.

Draco responded to Albus, Scorpius, and Harry's confused looks. "It's a song she composed for me when I was a baby. It's my lullaby." He smiled over at his mother. She didn't look up from the keys.

"I'm still a bit confused though. You're able to talk to my grandparents?" Albus looked at the ghost.

"I am. It's a little disorienting at times but for the most part we all appear to be where we were happiest. For most of us, that was Hogwarts. We're all there at the same time, a long with many others of course. But it's kind of like being a ghost at the school, just without the teachers, students, and ghost who actually are there."

Severus stayed with them all for a little while longer until he decided he should probably go. Turns out, he picked exactly the right time to leave.

"Harry! Albus!" Molly Weasley rushed into the room with Lily behind her. "I'm terribly sorry to just burst in like this, but it was urgent. Ginny was drunk and got into a head on car crash with a muggle. The muggle died at the scene and Ginny's slowly dieing as we speak." She said in a hurry, apologizing to the Malfoy's first.

Al took a good look at his sister and saw the tears streaming down her face. "Sh, Lil." He couldn't tell her it would be alright as he was sure it wouldn't be.

"Please, Harry, I know she said horrible things about you and Albus, but could you come to the hospital for the rest of us?"

"Of course I will, Molly." Harry stood and went to follow Mrs. Weasley.

"Dad, I'm gonna go with Al." Scorpius decided, knowing his boyfriend would likely need him that night. Even if his mother had been horrible, she was still his mother. He knew he'd be upset if his mum died, even though they really only spoke through letters and sometimes he only got a letter once a month, if that. Luxemburg wasn't so far away that she couldn't Apparate or Floo to see him at least for his birthday.

"Of course, dear." Narcissa answered for Draco.

They all reached St. Mungo's within 5 minutes and sat in the waiting room with the rest of the Weasley family. Charlie and his boyfriend, Seth, Percy and Penolpe, George, his wife Ava, and their son Fred, James, Ron, Rose, Hugo, Hermione, Bill, Fleur, Victorie, and Teddy Lupin were all in the waiting room, crowded on one wall.

"Mr. Potter, she would like to talk to you." The Healer walked out and came immeaditly to Harry.

"Thanks." Harry looked at Molly and Arthur wondering why she didn't want to talk to them.

"She said to bring Al." Harry nodded and Albus stood up to go with his dad.

"Ginny?" Harry asked when they walked in. Most of her body was draped in what looked like a powerful shielding charm.

"They say I only have a little while left and there was something I wanted to say to you. I gave Marrietta that article because I wanted to hurt you for betraying me. Those people are no good and you and I both know that. I don't know what you see in Malfoy anyway. He's always been an obnoxious prat. I should have never had children with you, then I couldn't be disappointed by any of them." She stated. "Send my mum and dad in."

Harry walked back out, Al trailing behind his father tears slowly rolling down his face. Harry sent Arthur and Molly in to Ginny's room as Scorpius hugged Albus.

"What did she want to say?" Hermione asked quietly. Just as quietly, Harry repeated what Ginny had said to them. Rose immeaditly clung to Al's other side, knowing her cousin needed them both.

Ginny Weasley was buried beside her brother Fred three days later. Having heard what she wanted them to hear, Harry and Albus did not go to the ceremony, but they did go to the cemetary to see her buried. No Weasley blamed them for that, least of all Charlie.

A/N: So thanks, Harriverse, for pointing out questions that hadn't been answered as of yet. I was planning to explain Severus, but I kinda forgot about James and Lily and the other stuff you mentioned to me. So thank you!!!! Also, I'm terribly sorry this took so long for me to get out. Hopefully I'll be able to start updating more often with my school letting out soon. Oh, and Megan, I did add that little bit about why Sev was able to talk to Lily and Lupin. Not too sure I explained it to well though. But that part was added after she Beta'd for me, just so everyone else knows.
