Leaving
Leaving
Hermione kissed Josiah one last time.
“Are you sure this is what you want to do, Dear?” Molly asked her again.
“Yes,” Hermione said again.
She really was growing tired of this.
“I will pick him up when I get settled. I do not want him anywhere near that cow,” She warned.
“Ron can visit him, but if he brings her and she tries to come anywhere near him, I want you to hex her into next week. Don’t let him take my baby,” She said again, tears in her eyes.
“I won’t even let on that he is here,” Molly said comfortingly. “By the time he catches on, I am sure you will be settled at Minerva’s cottage, and will have already come to get him.”
Hermione smiled weakly.
“Just promise me you won’t keep my son from his child,” Molly said, worriedly.
“I would never do that. I would never ever do that,” Hermione reassured her.
Molly nodded.
“Do Rose and Hugo know anything yet?”
“No, and I think I want to keep it that way for now. They will be at Hogwarts until Christmas, and that is almost three months away. Until Ron and I can get this thing settled, I don’t want to bring them into it,” Hermione replied.
“I can’t believe Rose is almost an adult already,” Molly said with a smile. “Time flies, doesn’t it?”
“Yes, it does,” Hermione said.
After all, it had flown by so fast, she could not even pinpoint the exact moment in which her marriage had fallen apart.
Hermione looked around the house once more. She had her potions reduced and packed in a trunk, kept under stasis. The rest of the lab equipment was next to it, in another reduced trunk. Josiah’s entire bedroom was duplicated and packed, along with Rose and Hugo’s as well. She didn’t want them to lose their rooms here at the home they had grown up in, but she also wanted to make sure that wherever she was going to be when they came to her would feel like home.
She had all of her things packed in another trunk, and was adding the last of her toiletries when she heard the front door open. She hastily reduced all of the trunks even further and slipped them into her pocket. She walked into the hall, wand drawn.
Ron was just closing the door behind Lavender.
“You certainly have a lot of nerve bringing her into this house,” Hermione said coolly.
“Hermione, please, sit down. I think the three of us should have a talk,” Ron said, walking over to the couch.
Lavender smirked at her, completely restored.
“There is nothing more for us to say!” Hermione screeched in anger.
“Hermione, please, I think we can all be adults about this,” Ron said, in a very patronizing tone, as though Hermione were a three-year-old child.
Hermione lost it. She aimed her wand at the cabinets in the kitchen and caused all the dishes to fly out of them, raining down upon Ron and Lavender.
“I am tired of you treating me like I am the one who has done something wrong here!” She screamed as she sent the coffee table flying, slamming into the wall and cracking.
“I am tired of you coming into my home as though you own it, and have every right to be here!” Hermione screamed at Lavender as she set fire to her hair.
Lavender screamed and extinguished her hair with water pouring form the tip of her wand.
“And you,” She said, advancing on Ron, eyes narrowed. “I did everything I could to make you happy, and still it was never good enough for you,” she said, dangerously calm.
“Impotencia” she said calmly, pointing her wand at his privates.
Ron’s face blazed in horror when he realized what she had done. Hermione stalked to the front door, and opened it, surprised to see a tawny owl soaring through the doorway with a scarlet envelope in its beak. She stepped over the threshold just as she heard the irate voice of Molly Weasley, amplified to outstanding proportions.
“RONALD WEASLEY!!! I AM ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED!!!!”
Hermione smirked as she walked calmly away from the wreckage that she had left behind. She could still hear Molly shouting in the distance as she reached the apparition point.
A/N: Sorry about the delay. We lost our internet for a little while, and because it was due to PC problems, I was unable to write or upload. I hope this and the chapters that will follow will be sufficient to make up for it :-) Please review!
