Confrontations
“Lucius!” Harry hissed as he set Lilly down next to Sirius and stood in front of them.
“Father! What are you doing here?” Draco demanded in shock.
“After five years of no contact, that is all you can say?” Lucius drawled. “I must say, Draco, when you disappeared this is never what I have envisioned happening to you. How quaint, Potter’s whore! I would have thought I had raised you better than that, Draco!” he hissed.
“I am not Potter’s whore!” he exclaimed. “And how dare you waltz into this room and say these fowl things in front of my children!” Draco hissed.
“How utterly revolting, Draco! Where is your pride? Where is your honor to the Malfoy name? Malfoy’s do not spawn half bloods! How dare you corrupt our impeccable blood lines with this filth?” he yelled pointing at the two quivering children.
Draco laughed in anger. “Isn’t it ironic, father, that these children will be your heirs? Filthy half-blood’s that they are? You have no other option. You cannot reproduce to replace me, and I am soul bonded to Harry. Looks like you will have to live with it, doesn’t it?”
“I might have to live with you as my heir, but it doesn’t mean that I have to live with them!” he yelled pointing his wand at the frightened children.
“No!” Harry and Draco both screamed diving in front of their offspring.
“Stupefy!” Hermione shouted from the doorway. Lucius immediately froze.
“God’s Harry! What is going on in here?” Hermione demanded.
“Thank god you had your wand, Mione!” Harry cried pulling his two screaming children into his arms.
“Thank you, Hermione, I will forever be in your debt.” Draco solemnly swore to her.
“How did he find you?” she demanded.
“I don’t know. I haven’t been to England in five years! I have never once used magic since I left knowing that I could be traced. Someone must have seen me!” he said.
“A greedy man told the bad man where we were,” Lilly said.
“A greedy man? How do you know this, Lilly?”
“Grandmother Narcissa told me,” she said calmly.
“But Draco, isn’t your mother dead?” Hermione asked.
He nodded. “She died in the final battle.”
The three adults looked at the quiet little girl who stood staring at her grandfather. “Draco, is your daughter a medium?” Hermione asked.
“I don’t know. I thought that she was a seer because my mother was. But now that I think about it, she doesn’t behave the way that my mother did. I guess it would make sense.”
“Do you know how rare it is to be a medium? I read that only one is born every hundred years. A medium is only born when the current one is ready to pass their knowledge on before death.”
“Who is the current medium?” Harry asked.
“Nobody knows. That person will find the new one and transfer all of their knowledge and then move on. Nobody ever knows unless they are a close member of the family. Its not a genetic thing, it is completely random when it happens.”
“Grandmother Narcissa said that stealing the book was wrong and it is time to let things lie.” Lilly told her grandfather who was still frozen.
Lucius’ eyes flickered but he was restrained from speaking. Draco bent down and picked up his father’s wand. “I will let Hermione release you, father, but you will not harm my family,” Draco said.
Hermione flickered her wand and Lucius was released from the spell. He stood glaring at his granddaughter. “You have no idea what you speak about,” he hissed.
“Grandmother said to tell you that she took the soul book from your desk and threw it into the fire. She said she was wrong and so were you.”
Lucius paled. He had always wondered what had happened to that book. “Is your grandmother here now?”
Lilly nodded her head. “She says to tell you that you should go home and think about your behavior before you do something foolish that you will regret.”
Lucius wasn’t quite sure if he believed the nonsense that the girl was spouting. She knew things that nobody else would of, but his years of being suspicious and never taking any at face value had made it hard for him to trust.
“She also said that as I am the first born female Malfoy in two hundred year that you need to give me the Amulet of Willowswood.”
Lucius paled. “A bastard child does not get family heirlooms,” he hissed. Only the Lord and Lady of the Malfoy line knew of the Amulet. It magically appeared at the wedding ceremony for the bride to hold for her first-born daughter, if she so had one.
“How dare you speak that way to my daughter?” Harry demanded.
“What is she talking about, Father?” Draco demanded. “I have never heard of this Amulet.”
Lilly looked at her grandfather again. “Grandmother also said to remind you that as I am the daughter of a soul bound pair, I couldn’t possibly be a bastard. Daddy, what is a bastard?” she said looking to Draco.
Draco choose to ignore his daughters questions and continued to stare at his father. “Well?” he demanded.
“I must go,” Lucius said snatching his wand from Harry and apparating away.
“God’s Harry, what have we gotten ourselves into?” Hermione asked. “I only wanted to come for Adrienne’s wedding.”
Draco whipped his head to Hermione. “Adrienne?”
“My cousin. She is marrying tomorrow. That’s why we returned to England.”
“Whom is she marrying?” he demanded. It couldn’t be a coincidence.
Hermione paled as she looked at Harry. “She is marrying Severus Snape.”
“What!” Harry bellowed.
“It’s going to be a Muggle wedding ceremony. There won’t be any wizards there. I thought it would be safe!” Hermione cried.
“Hermione! How could you?” Harry demanded.
“Adrienne and Severus promised me that it would be safe.”
“Wait a minute, Severus knew that you were coming and bringing Harry with you?”
“Well yes,” she said. “It was their idea to bring Harry and Sirius.”
“That sneaky bastard!” Draco growled. “He set us up, Harry.”
“How so?”
“He invited me to stand up with him at his ceremony. He promised me that only Professor McGonagall and Madame Pomfrey would be there from the Wizarding world.”
“So now what?” Harry asked. “Is it safe to take the children out? Your father knows we are here, so someone had to have told him. Do you think it was Snape?”
“Severus hates my father, he never would have told him. I don’t know who told.”
“I told you, daddy, the greedy man,” Lilly said.
“Do you know what the greedy man’s name is?”
“Grandmother Narcissa said he is a nobody. He saw us eating ice cream and thought he could convince grandfather to give him money.”
Draco laughed at this. Nobody could blackmail Lucius Malfoy. “Well, Harry, one thing is for certain. We need to move to another hotel. Its not safe for us here.”
“I think that we should stay at the Leaky Cauldron. If I put glamour on the two of you, then we should be safe. Sometimes hiding in the open is the best hiding spot. Nobody will recognize the children and if I adjust my looks slightly we should be safe. We have no protection in the Muggle world if the two of you don’t have your wands.”
Draco nodded. “I agree to a point. Harry we both need to stop hiding and take a stand. We can’t spend the rest of our lives hiding because we are afraid of what might happen. If we are careful we can re-enter the Wizarding world. You with Sirius and me with Lilly. Nobody will know who their mother’s are.”
Harry smiled. “One look at Lilly’s eyes will tell who she belongs to and one look at Sirius’s will tell who he belongs to.”
“Mione?” Draco said with a smile.
With a quick flick of her wrist the children’s eyes were changed. Lilly had her fathers silver orbs and Sirius no sported his dad’s emerald eyes. “Wow!” she said. The two children now looked exactly like their fathers.
“So tonight we shall check into the Leaky Cauldron and tomorrow we get new wands and join our rightful world.”
“Daddy, does this mean that we get wands too?” Lilly asked.
“You are much to young for a wand.”
Sirius sat bemuse on the corner of the bed. He had never heard of wands and wizards except in his storybooks. He wasn’t sure exactly what was going on, but he figured his sister would tell him later when nobody else was around. Lilly always made him understand.
