Epilogue

Warning- sickening, gross, puke your guts out fluff occurs in this chapter. I almost got sick writing it. And it's really short.

Chapter 13 Epilogue

"Push, cutie. Come on, you can do it," Draco urged his wife, who was in the process of a long, drawn-out labor. The pain potions she had taken earlier had worn off, but since the baby's head was already crowning, they wouldn't give her another until after the birth for fear of complications.

"Oh, go fuck your mother," she replied through clenched teeth.

"But, love, you know I'm not into necrophilia," he responded with a straight face, teasingly. At the glare he received, he was afraid that it might just be the last thing he ever did.

Before Hermione could make another remark, the medi-witch interrupted. "Hermione, you're almost done. Now just push for me."

Twenty-five minutes later, Draco was sitting on the bed next to his blissfully pain-free wife, holding their daughter in his arms. "So, what should we name her?" he asked.

While they had, of course, talked the subject to death, they had opted not to learn the sex of the baby beforehand and had not come to a concrete decision for either a boy or a girl. "Aurora Hope Malfoy," she responded with a name they had never discussed.

"Aurora Hope?"

"She's coming into the world at the dawn of a new age in the Wizarding World, and she is the dawn of a new era for us. Hope because I want her to be always surrounded by love and support, so she never has to feel defeated, as if she has to give in. There's always hope," Hermione replied, taking her eyes off of her newborn to look into the shining eyes of her husband.

"Aurora Hope it is then," he said, taking his hand away from his daughter's hand softly stroking the face of the very first person that he loved, respected, and trusted, fully and unconditionally.

She smiled at him as she leaned into his touch. "You should probably go and let everyone know, she told him softly.

"But I don't want to," he whined. "I want to stay here with my two girls."

"Draco, you'll have us forever. Now go get our friends," she ordered.

"Okay," he sighed as he handed his daughter over. Five minutes later, the room was overflowing with people who wanted a look at little Aurora Hope, oohing and aahing over her. Somewhere in the room, a camera was flashing like mad.

"Can I hold her?" asked Harry.

Hermione glanced over to Draco, who gave a slight nod. "Okay, but I don't want her being shuffled from person to person. Only you and Tonks right now." The room conceeded to her wishes as Harry took a hold of the bald baby with blonde eyebrows.

"Hey, there Aurora," he cooed to her. "I'm Harry, and I'm going to be your godfather." Almost is if on cue, so opened her eyes to look up at the man who was holding her, revealing silvery grey orbs. "Uch, it's definitely a Malfoy you got here, 'Mione," he told her.

"I know," she answered, half-tired, half-ecstatic. Most of the people in the room, recognizing the first half, decided to leave (or were shunted out by Molly, however one prefers to look at it as their idea), promising to come back and visit the next day. Eventually, the room cleared out, with the exception of Harry, Ron, and Tonks.

When Ron leaned in to get a better look at the tiny figure, she gave a small cry, much to the amusement of everyone else in the room. The cry stopped the second he was out of her undeveloped vision, causing even more chuckles.

Next, Tonks leaned in cautiously. Aurora looked in her general direction for a moment before deciding it was safe to go back to sleep, though Harry was still introducing her. "And this is Tonks. She's going to be you godmother. She only likes being called Tonks, but I think you'll be able to get away with calling her Nymph, and not even I'm allowed to do that."

The remark earned him a small slap on the back of the head, but he just gave the older woman an amused smile. Remus had been one of the Order that had died in the Final Battle and Harry and Tonks had found solace in each other, eventually becoming a couple. Not many who knew them were surprised, as they had all seen the signs growing for months before they gave in. However, the rest of the world was a different story. The second that Witch Weekly found out that their number one bachelor was dating someone, not to mention, a someone who was at least six or seven years older than him, owls had started to arrive disparaging his choice. They overtook the owls that had previously come in, trying to get him on a date with one of his many fans.

Ron had also received his fair share of fan mail, as had Hermione, Draco, and Neville, but they all took it in stride. He was just happy that while Harry was now the Saviour of the Wizarding World, he was still Ron Weasley. Now that he had been reviewing mail from complete strangers who acted as though he knew him intimately, the very last trace of jealousy harboured towards his best friend had melted, truly understanding how annoying being a hero was.

After Harry gently handed Aurora over to Tonks, he stood behind his girlfriend, wrapping his arms around her waist, resting his head on her shoulder to continue looking at the little bundle. When Ron was offered to hold her, he just shook his head and backed away, which of course caused another round of laughter.

Eventually, Aurora started fussing, and the remaining guests left so Hermione could feed her in peace. That night, Draco practically had to be forced to go home to Malfoy Manor, which Tonks had restored to him, along with all of his vaults and belongings, though he did leave her with more than he did leave enough to set her up for life.

He was declared legally alive within the week after the battle; they couldn't hold a trial for a dead man. Before the trial, he and Hermione had wed in an extremely small ceremony in their living room. At the trial, he was freed with the use of Veriteserum as well as pensieve memories from Dumbledore, Harry, and Snape, who had also been freed.

Soon enough, Hermione and Aurora came home, and for the first time, he was completely content within the walls of his family home. He got a job within the Ministry, ironically in the division whose purpose was to root out corrupt dealings within the organization. He enjoyed his work, and he enjoyed coming home every day to the most beautiful woman in the world, as well as the cutest baby in the world.

Every time he would enter his home now, he was filled with feelings of gratefulness for having such a wonderful family and for having the means to provide for them; they would never end up homeless if there was anything he could do about it. He was filled with feelings of love, and even more unusual, feeling of peace, as though there was nothing wrong with the world so long as he had his family.

With a grin on his face, he stalked into the room where his beautiful wife was laying on the bed, reading a book, thinking about how much he would enjoy creating another new life with her. He moved onto the bed and she put her book on the side table, smiling at him warmly.

When he sat next to her, she turned her body so she was straddling his legs. It was still too soon after the birth for sex, but that wouldn't stop her from a good snog, and perhaps a little more. When she wrapped her arms around his shoulders, entwining her fingers in his hair, his eyes glazed over, as though his mind was far away and a smile crept over his features.

"What are you thinking?" she asked.

"Nothing," he responded, softly kissing her lips, as he thought back to that first time he had walked into the kitchen with her singing along to her radio.

The End.
