Between angels and insects

The noise had awaken some students. They were already staring at the scene through the numerous windows of the castle. Seena laughed sardonically and cast another Impyro Spell on Hagrid’s cabin. The roof falred up in an instant, the gamekeeper and Fang rushed out of their home. Students were screaming and crying.

“Do you still think we shouldn’t intervene?” McGonagall winced. Dumbledore was as shocked as the others.

“Minerva, go get the teachers and Mrs Pomfrey, I want all the students in safety, in the dungeon. Harry, come with me.” Dumbledore ordered.

“What about me?” Hermione urged him. The old wizard stopped dead in his track and stared at the girl.

“Come with us!”

Outside, Seena was beginning to throw fireballs to the castle. The sky was so dark one could believe it was midnight already. The fresh grass surrounding her was now ashes. An earthquake struck Hogwarts. As they were making their way down, Hermione, Harry and Professor Dumbledore had to dodge pieces of concrete falling. They came accross terrified Hufflepuff students who were trying ‘Reparo’ spells to fix the ceiling. The three of them finally got out and stood several feet away from The Nemesis. She was playing with a fireball, rolling it on her finger like a Basketball player.

“You took your time...” She sniggered at the trio. That’s when Ron chose to appear and stand beside his friends.

“What’s going on?” He asked, out of breath. He turned his head to Seena and his eyes opened wide. “Oh my God I’m gonna die!”

“No one is gonna die.” Dumbledore stated firmly. “Seena! Please calm down! You’re not yourself anymore!”

“No kiddin’? Waow, now I know why you’re the great Headmaster!” The brunette snickered.

“Don’t force me to hurt you, Seena!”

“Like you could! I’ve survived Voldemort, I’ve survived dragons, werewolves and all those fucking Ancients who thought I didn’t know they were using me! Do you really believe that a crappy old guy and three kids could hurt me?”

Dumbledore pointed her wand to Seena, so did Harry and Ron. Hermione was motionless.

“I’m warning you Seena! Stop this immediately!” Dumbledore shouted. The girl took the ball in her hand as another was appearing in the second one.

“Petrificus Totallus!” Both Harry and the wizard screamed. The spells hit Seena but didn’t affect her.

“You know what? I was raised in violence, and now I’m pure Evil! What you guys think? There’s no weapon in the world that could hurt me! No spells!” Seena laughed and threw the balls to Dumbledore and Harry. The impact sent them flying away. Hermione’s eyes crossed her girlfriend’s black orbs. There was nothing in them.

“Ron, go take care of them. I know what needs to be done.” Hermione said with a very deep tone.

“Wh-What?”

“Go!” She shouted, and the redhead boy ran to his friends. Hermione slowly began to walk towards the Nemesis.

“Don’t! Stay away!” Seena yelled angrily. But the young girl kept on walking. Two other fireballs appeared in Seena’s hands. She threw the burning ammo to her lover, but none of them even grazed her. “Hermione back off!” Seing that the girl didn’t want to obey, Seena chose to threaten her. “Do you want to die? Cause I can kill you! I’m meant to destroy everything!”

“I don’t think so...” Hermione finally stood in front of her girlfriend. They were face to face. The Gryffindor girl observed Seena’s change. The black ink had formed symbols on her skin and her hair and eyes were darker than the night. Seena’s breath was accelerating.

“What are you waiting for, Seena? Go on, kill me!” Hermione said very calmly. Seena looked aside. “Isn’t that what you want?” Seena didn’t reply. “Come on, you’re pure Evil! Why can’t you kill a little helpless witch?”

“Shut up!” Seena shouted and punched violently the girl who fell on the ground.

“You see? It wasn’t that hard!” Hermione stood up. Blood was already running from her ear. “Do you remember the first time we actually met? It was already violent between us.” Hermione chuckled. Seena was beginning to shake.

“ And I’ve always known there was this side of you. But both sides, Good and Evil, it makes you who you are! Who I lov-”

“Don’t say it!” Seena hit her again. The earthquake stopped.

“I love you!” Hermione screamed.

“No! No you can’t love me!” Seena fell on her knees and began to cry. “ I’m a monster!”

“I love you Seena, I always did!” Hermione came closer and knelt beside her girlfriend. She took her head in her hands. “And I always will...” Hermione crossed the gap between their lips and kissed the Nemesis. A few yards away, Dumbledore, Harry and Ron were watching them. The old wizard looked at the sky. It was now just cloudy and a pouring rain began to fall, extinguishing the fire. He looked back at the two of them holding each other desperately, and inside, he knew that the war was really over now.
