No One Mourns the Wicked

A/N: So this was supposed to be the last chapter and I really did want to leave it like this, honest, I did. But then I gave it to my sister to beta and she yelled at me, saying it was a dumb ending and where was the rest?! I gave it to my friend Erica and she said the exact same thing...so fear not gentle readers there shall be an Epiloge!!!
-------
Five years pass in the blink of an eye

Harry Potter was the youngest wizard to sit on the Wizengamot since its inception. But as the Savior of the Wizarding World, no one was about to contend with his request. Nor were many likely to challenge him once he gave his opinion or word of good faith. The fact that he sat in the seat previously occupied by Albus Dumbledore only served to reinforce this.

The War had been over for two years and Voldemort dead for three.

Harry hadn’t thought about Ginny’s inconveniently messed up spell during his fourth year, since the summer he was fourteen. And now at the outset of these war crimes trials, as Muggles would call them, it was certainly the last thing on his mind. That is until the prisoners were brought in and rather familiar dramatic music began to swell.

Draco Malfoy sat in the single throne-like chair. The entirety of the Wizengamot rose to its feet.

“No one mourns the Wicked! Now at last he’s dead and gone. Now at last there’s joy thought the land!”

The crowd observing the trial also rose to its feet, a unified look of vicious pleasure on their faces.

“Good news! Good news!”

Harry had remained seated. Draco looked into the elevated loft that held his judges. His eyes caught those of the dark-haired Savior, and Harry saw no regret in them.
“Who can say if I’ve been changed for the better, but...”
Draco joined him as the crowd quieted.
“...because I knew you...”
“No one mourns the Wicked!” Cried the crowd.
“...because I knew you, I have been changed...”
“No one mourns the Wicked! Wicked! Wicked!”

Everyone sat back down, looking extremely confused, and Harry stood.
“Draco Lucius Malfoy, you have been found guilty of being allied with the Dark Forces. For this and other acts you will be sentenced to a life term in the prison Azkaban. Is there anyone here who would speak for Mister Malfoy?”

Silence prevailed

After a moment the gavel cracked and Draco was lead out.
