When Worlds Collide
Summery: Hermione is being targeted by an evil that hasn’t set foot on earth in over a thousand years. Now, she must be protected. What happens when she and her protector fall in love? R/R
Chapter 12
February came quickly. The morning Mace and Obi-Wan were to land Hermione and Anakin ate breakfast with their friends. Hermione knew she should feel nervous, but after the night before, her nervousness seemed to be gone.
“When are they getting here?” Draco asked.
“They will be landing an hour before lunch.” Anakin answered as he took a sip of his orange juice.
“Can we go with you to meet them?” Ron asked in fascination.
“I don’t see why not. After all, Dumbledore and Severus will be there too.” Hermione replied as she glanced over at Anakin.
Anakin nodded. They all finished their meals and made their way out onto the grounds. Despite the cold winds, the sun was shinning and the air was crisp and clean. The four Gryffindors and Jedi Master walked toward the gardens. As they walked, Anakin told them about how he first met Obi-Wan and began his Padawan learner. How Mace was leery of him, but finally came to trust Anakin after he had told the council about Palpatine being the Sith Lord.
“Master Windu was afraid of my fate. Now I can see why. At the time, I was confused and wanted more. After my mother was killed by Tuskin Raiders, I did kind of loose it for a time. Thank god for Padme Amadala. She was my first real friend when I left Tattooieen and traveled to Coruacant.” Anakin explained.
“She sounds great. She’s that Senator you said Hermione reminds you of?” Harry asked.
“Yes. Padme hated having added security. She felt it would disturb her day to day duties.” Anakin chuckled.
“I would like to meet her someday. I mean, you’ve met my friends, I would really like to meet yours.” Hermione said.
“Maybe you can one day.” Anakin replied as he stared meaningfully at her.
The three guys watched the two lovers. They each smiled and in their minds sent out a prayer that everything would work out for them.

“We’re making our final decent on to Hogwarts. There, I see Anakin’s ship.” Obi-Wan said.
“Putting down the landing gear. Slow it down a bit.” Mace instructed.
Obi-Wan slowed down the engines and slowly the ship landing next to Anakin’s. As the engines died and shut off, Mace and Obi-Wan unbuckled their seats and stood up. They gathered what little things they brought and made their way off the ship. Waiting for them was Anakin, Hermione, Severus, Albus, Draco, Harry, and Ron.
“Hello Master Windu, Obi-Wan.” Anakin bowed.
“Hello Anakin.” Obi-Wan greeted as he and Mace returned the bow.
“So, this is Hermione Granger?” Mace asked as he turned and faced Hermione.
“Yes Master. Hermione, I would like to introduce, Master Mace Windu and Master Obi-Wan Kenobi.” Anakin answered as he motioned for Hermione to come over.
“It’s an honor to meet you both. During his stay, Anakin has been teaching me the History of the Jedi. He’s told me a lot about you both. I’ve been waiting to meet you.” Hermione smiled as she bowed.
“The honor is ours milady.” Obi-Wan smiled.
Obi-Wan and Mace followed Hermione and Anakin over to the others. Introductions were quickly made. As Albus led them into the castle, Obi-Wan felt that feeling again. The feeling that everything he knew about the Jedi, was about to be changed. And these feeling centered around Hermione and Anakin.

Palpatine stood staring out the window when Voldemort approached. The Sith Lord turned and faced the wizard.
“What do you have to report?” Palpatine asked.
“One of my Death Eaters at the school sent word to me that two men arrived this morning and they are dressed just like Anakin.” Voldemort answered.
“Grrr. That must be that meddlesome Obi-Wan Kenobi and Mace Windu. I sensed their presence. I want you to bring all of your followers. Soon, this war of yours will reach its conclusion.” Palpatine growled.
Voldemort nodded and left the room. Palpatine turned and faced the window once more. The arrival of the two Jedi had him worried. If they did not stop them here and now, the Jedi council would continue to hunt him down.

“How are you Anakin?” Obi-Wan asked as he and Anakin went for a walk on the grounds.
“I’m fine Obi-Wan. Why do you ask?” Anakin replied.
“I’ve been having these feelings that something Is about to happen. Not just with this war, but with the entire Jedi Order. As if everything we’ve been taught is about to change. These feelings center around you and Hermione.” Obi-Wan explained.
“I’ve had the same feelings, so has Hermione. What about Master Windu? Has he had these feelings as well?” Anakin questioned as they stopped at the lake’s edge.
“I don’t know Anakin. I suggest that you, Hermione, myself, and Master Windu all meet tomorrow evening after dinner and discuss this. If she is as powerful as the council believes, she may very well be a great asset in the battle that is to come.” Obi-Wan said.
Anakin nodded. He felt the same feelings as Obi-Wan dealing with Hermione. He only prayed that Mace and Obi-Wan didn’t discover that he and Hermione were in love. The two Jedi Knights turned and made their way back into the castle.
