Change of Heart

Disclaimer: Jo owns these superb characters...

Thanks to all whom are reviewing...

beeky63: Sorry for those mistakes, but like I said even Jo has made a few mistakes in her time and I can't find a regular, reliable beta (I've tried three, and so I've given up, sorry!) As for the weren't... I think it depends on which English you're using, I am using UK English and I was brought up with WASN'T as bad English, and I did type in Wasn't but WORD did not like that... don't blame me, blame my computer! I am glad you are still enjoying the story though, and lol on the big trouble thing... we'll see shall we? I've tidied up the Sonata bit though, thanks for spotting that one... oh by the way there are only five chapters left, so...

Pinkwands: You want a whole story on LV/HG or just PWP? I can do both... as I am an even bigger deviant than you I reckon.

angel: Don't worry things will sort themselves out soon enough.

Oh and a reminder to all of you, please just see this as a bit of fun.

Change of Heart

Lucius sucked his sleeping fiancées breasts as she lay breathing evenly. Their outdoor exercise had leant colour to her cheeks and the birds were beginning to twitter in the sky. He looked at her angelic face, and then went down to kiss her belly button before he got up and plunged himself in the lake. He swam for a few minutes cooling down his fiery passion. Hermione shivered, and then awoke, as she felt the bit of ground where Lucius should have been and weren’t. She furrowed her brow, and then turned over and saw him swimming in the dawning light on the lake. He was definitely the Day.

She smiled and then got up and picked up her dress. She was about to get dressed when Lucius saw her. He swam over to her and looked at her beautiful body before he spoke.

“Come on in, Mya,” he urged. “It’s lovely.”

Hermione giggled and smiled down at him.

“Oughtn’t we be getting back?” She asked.

“No,” he said. “Please?”

Hermione looked down on the ground avoiding his gaze, the sun sparkled on his sapphire eyes and she had to turn away from them. She couldn’t be falling for Malfoy? Not yet? Not ever! She was about to walk away when Lucius made a grab for the dress. He used his strength and determination to get her into the lake. She found herself unable to fight, and if she did it would tear it… not that she couldn’t fix it afterwards, but it was the principle of the matter.

“Lucius,” she said in an exasperated tone, he laughed.

“Suit yourself!” He exclaimed and swam away. She stood watching him, and tipped her head to one side, and sat down on the shore tucking her knees under her chin. She had to admit that he was beautiful, and muscular, and that his emotions last night caught her unawares. She had to admit that it was, well, wonderful. But, she shook her head she didn’t love him. She smiled at the thought though of what Draco would say if he knew of her engagement to his father, that she had overstepped his property. Come to think of it, she bit her lip, as she thought of this enchanting prospect, it did have a great resonance of revenge, and some part of her had wanted to get revenge on the pampered little git for a long while! It was perfect.

“Lucius?” She called out.

He heard and swam back to the shore.

“Yes?”

She started playing around with her nails and bit one between her teeth.

“Shouldn’t we tell your friends and family?”

“Who is there to tell?” He asked mischievously. “I am a Slytherin I have not friends just people I have to put up with.”

“Yes, but you have family,” Hermione said. “Have you forgotten about your dear son?”

Lucius sighed.

“He will find out through the Daily Prophet, darling, we need not worry about him.”

“Oh, but, can’t we tell him face-to-face?” She asked in a sweet voice. Lucius knew that voice well. It was the voice that all women used when they wanted something because they knew that the men were defenceless against it, soon she’ll flutter those pretty eyelashes of hers.

“Why do you want to do that?” He asked her. He knew what the answer would be but he wanted to see the look in her eyes as she said it.

“Because I want to see the look on his face!” She said eagerly. Her eyes lit up with a playfulness that oddly enough reminded Lucius of his sister-in-law Bellatrix Lestrange.

“Are you sure, Mya? I mean, he might try to kill you,” Lucius asked his voice set the tone for a flirting match.

“What with a big strong Death Eater like you to protect me?” Hermione asked in an even sweeter voice than before. Honey or liquorice could not have been much sweeter. She started to flutter her eyelashes, and she smiled winsomely at her lover, and picked his hand up and started sucking the fingers looking into his eyes.

Boy, he thought, what a Slytherin this girl would have made.

“Oh, all right, Hermione,” Lucius said. “On one condition.”

“That is?”

“That you come and have a swim, we’ll have a warm up and breakfast, German bread is, dare I say it, the best in the world, and we can get some freshly baked. And then we’ll go and tell Draco the good news.”

He supposed it was tit for tat and that he wanted to see the looks on her friend’s faces. She was being just the same. In truth, it weren’t Draco he was worried about, it was Bellatrix. She had been FURIOUS when her sister died, and was out for his blood, and as Snape liked Potions out for his too. Lucius looked at Hermione waiting for his answer.

“Yes, all right then,” she said. She got up and walked into the freezing cold water. Goosebumps were forming on her skin and she shivered.

“Swim, you’ll warm up soon,” Lucius advised, as he laid flat on his back and did a few deft backstrokes.

“Yes I know!” She exclaimed. She kept on her front, and did a few breaststrokes, and soon her body acclimatized to the water, and it did not feel so cold, although the goosebumps were an indication that the reality was otherwise.

Lucius swam up to her, and when they joined hands, he bought her closer to him and then they soon wrapped arms and legs together kissing as the sun shone on both of them.

***************

Snape did not sleep well at the Weasley household, even after the rather hectic evening. The twins had turned up and told everyone what had happened that day, and the news of Fred’s impending fatherhood and marriage sat very well with Molly, and for once she said that Percy ought to have taken a leaf out of HIS book, which pleased Fred. Snape did not like it when they told their family of Lucius’ offer of money. It was a typical Malfoy move to secure Hermione’s affections. He was losing his grip and he kept tossing and turning. The bloody leg twinged with pain still from the scalding tea he clumsily dropped. He had tossed over and was about to try to sleep on the sofa when he felt a soft patter of feet enter the room.

“Go away!” He growled in his tired temperamental tone.

“Okay,” A stiff voice said. It was Ginny. Snape immediately sat up. He’d promised her he’d talk to her because she had an idea that she did not want her boyfriend to hear. This did not bode very well with Snape.

“No, I didn’t mean it,” he said. He scrambled up and he lit a few candles plus the fireplace. She must have been chilly in that short skimpy nightdress.

“I want to tell you this because it might help Hermione and Harry can’t know of it, not yet, he’s trying to protect me poor lamb!”

Snape tried not to snort derisively at her description of Potter, to have this amount of love and to have a girl like Miss Weasley, Potter was anything BUT a poor lamb in his opinion.

“What is it?”

Ginny smiled.

“Polyjuice Potion!”

“Are you mad?” Snape hissed.

“If Barty Crouch Jr can do it why can’t I? I’ll pretend to be Hermione through the cunning use of Polyjuice Potion.”

“And what would Hermione be doing all this time?” Snape asked sarcastically.

“We can hide her somewhere, as we have to expose Malfoy, and soon.”

“No wonder you didn’t want Potter to hear of this plan,” Snape said seriously. He studied the girl – or woman – or whatever sitting in front of him. She was delicately perched on the sofa, her hands placed on her lap, and her eyes looking directly at him. No way! As confident as she was this was far too dangerous for her. And, besides, Malfoy is not easily fooled.

“So, what do you think? Is it possible?”

“No I don’t think it is. It is a very dangerous game Miss Weasley,” he said. “And one I don’t think you should be playing.”

“Hermione’s playing the game!” Ginny exclaimed hotly.

“Not out of choice Miss Weasley,” Snape said in an irritated tone.

Ginny chewed her cheek and looked away, her profile showed her irritation.

“I love Hermione like she was my big sister, Snape, I can’t let her be – be – under HIS spell.”

Snape sighed, and then winced, as his leg began to itch. He leant down to scratch it.

“Why have you got so much against Malfoy anyway?” He asked.

“He gave me Tom Riddles diary. Didn’t Dumbledore tell you?”

Snape in mid scratch fell down on the floor in surprise the way a cat or dog would. He clutched hold off the sofa and then got back on again. Ginny decided to help him up, but the space between the pouffe, and the sofa only allowed room for one man, Ginny caught her foot. They both fell on the sofa, Snape landed on top of Ginny in a very compromising and awkward position, and then the light switched on. Snape shaded his eyes from the sudden electric light and turned around. OH NO!

“Harry, it’s not what it looks like!” Snape exclaimed. Thinking the intimate use of the first name might soften Harry’s dark, dangerous and jealous stare, Ginny pushed Snape away gently, and got up her eyes were shining and her hair messy.

“Isn’t it?” He asked coldly. He took hold of Ginny’s hand; he extinguished the candlelight, the firelight and then switched the electric light off. He dragged Ginny upstairs nearly pulling her arm out of her socket. Ginny didn’t mind the fact that she was caught in a compromising position with her former Professor; it might finally spring Harry into action.

He pulled her into his room, and then he pushed her on the bed. Ginny did not like the look in Harry’s eyes. He pinned her to the mattress, and then he began groping around her body furiously.

“Harry, my parents might hear!”

“Damn them!” He growled as he spread her legs apart.

“Harry, don’t do it like this, please, don’t! It wasn’t what it looked like I promise you!”

“Tell me what was it like?” He asked sarcastically as he nipped at her neck.

“It was an accident. Snape fell on the floor, and I helped him up, we tripped, that’s it. He loves Hermione, he wouldn’t dare betray her!”

“What makes you so sure about that?” He asked as he fondled her breasts harshly.

“Well, he held onto his grudge for Sirius Black long enough to be considered as a devotion, and if he’s that devoted to people he hates think how he’d be with people he loves?”

Harry stopped and looked into her eyes. He didn’t believe her! He went on hurting her; he bruised her lips with a harsh kiss. Ginny was squirming under his strength, and he was stronger than he looked.

“I don’t believe you,” he snarled.

“Harry, please, what – does that mean you don’t trust ME?”

“I said I don’t believe you, I didn’t say I didn’t trust you.”

“Same thing! Look I don’t fancy Snape, all right, well okay, perhaps a little, but I don’t want to have sex with him or marry him or anything like that.”

Harry thrust his hands and pushed her breasts down squeezing them and hurting her the more her eyes were filling with tears.

“Really?” He asked coldly. “And who do you want to marry and have sex with then?”

“YOU HARRY!” She yelled. She no longer cared who walked in and saw them now.

Harry stopped and then looked into her eyes. He turned his back on her and put his head in his hands. He groaned and shook it.

“Oh, Ginny,” he groaned. She got up and put a light hand on his shoulder.

“I think,” she whispered in his ear. “That you sort of proposed to me.”

He took his head out of his hands, and then turned around slowly.

“I think,” he said back. “That despite what I’ve just done to you that you sort of accepted.”

Ginny nibbled his earlobe.

“Now,” she said sliding her hands down his chest and started fiddling about with the waistband of his pyjama bottoms. “Let’s do this thing properly shall we?”

Harry put his hand on the back of her head and kissed her sweetly and tenderly.

***************

The next morning Harry came down the stairs bouncing and his hair scruffier than usual. He had a wide smile plastered all over his face. No one else was down apart from Snape who looked at Harry and nodded his head in slight acknowledgement.

“Had fun last night?” He asked the boy.

Harry turned over, and was determined not to let HIM ruin his good mood.

“Yes,” he said. Snape walked up to Potter, and decided to tease him in a way that would probably annoy him more than mentioning his father. He ruffled Harry’s hair and then winked at him. Harry looked quizzically at Snape. It didn’t annoy him; Snape sat down on the sofa with a plate of toast and a book on his lap. “Look, Snape, I am, er, sorry. I shouldn’t have overreacted like that. It’s just that…”

Snape looked up at the boy and he shrugged his shoulders.

“I’d have done the same if it were me, and believe me boy I have!” He exclaimed.

“Look, if you love Hermione as much as you say you do why can’t we just – well – go in and get her?”

“If memory serves me correctly it was going in and getting someone that got Hermione in a near death situation. Ten bloody potions I had to brew everyday for her.”

Harry was shocked at that.

“I – I thought Madame Pomfrey did that.”

“No, boy, I DID that.”

“Why?” Harry asked. “You didn’t like her then.”

“So sure on that one are you boy?” Snape asked. “I had to ACT in front of Malfoy, and his friends, I had to put on a show even when they weren’t around, gossip spreads really fast in Hogwarts. I actually could not help but respect her, and I should not have respected her. Let alone like her, but in the last year I decided because she’d been through all that palaver that she deserved a chance from me. That chance was given and since then well – you could say she confused me… that confusion has settled, I know exactly what she is now, and I am prepared to admit that I was wrong about her. Hermione is everything I am not I know that and I know I probably don’t deserve her, but I have to try to be worthy of her.”

Harry did not believe it. This was the snarky Professor who, when angered, bit! Not someone who wanted to prove himself… ‘A thirst to prove yourself… I think you’ll do well in Slytherin!’ the hat had said. Snape was then only being a Slytherin, and in truth Harry actually looked at Snape anew. It weren’t just Snape that had to prove himself worthy of the woman he loved. Last night Harry had come face-to-face with the harsh reality that he had to do likewise for Ginny.

****************

Hermione and Lucius had enjoyed a wonderful breakfast, and he was right the German bread was lovely. He then took her hand.

“By the way when we’re married I want this to be our home,” he said to her.

“But…”

“I know dear, but this is beautiful, and it is my favourite of all of my Mansions, plus we’d get no intruders, it’ll be just ours.”

“Does that mean then that our child would have to go to Durmstrang?” she asked.

“Yes,” he said. “That’s where I wanted Draco to go.”

“If Draco had gone there then we would never have met,” Hermione said girlishly.

Lucius looked at her for a second and then thought about her statement a second more.

“No,” he said. His lips curled in a smile. “We would not have met would we? Thank Merlin for small mercies.”

They apparated out of the Mansion and back into England outside a forbidding house.

“Where’s this?” Hermione asked. She clutched hold onto Lucius sleeve. She gulped.

“This is the Lestrange Manor,” Lucius answered. “Don’t worry, even I shudder when I enter this abode.”

“LUCIUS MALFOY HOW DARE YOU SHOW YOUR FACE HERE AFTER WHAT YOU DID TO MY SISTER!”

Their entrance had not gone unnoticed, and the fiery expression in her eyes made Dante’s Inferno look like a mere garden bonfire!

“And greetings to you to, Bellatrix, but here, I have a new sister to give you.”

He pushed Hermione forward. Bellatrix’s nostrils flared at the girl. Hermione wished the ground would swallow her up whole.

“Who are you?” Bellatrix asked coldly.

“Hermione Granger,” she answered shyly.

“A mudblood?” Bellatrix screeched.

“Who happens to be my fiancée, can I come in, I do so miss our conversations,” Lucius said smoothly.

Lucius took Hermione’s arm and led her towards the front door. Bellatrix followed after them staring beadily at the Granger bitch.

A/N So, more trouble hey!
