To all: What good is being wanted by a sexy wizard if you can’t make your friends jealous. Had to make her try to tell someone, plus wanted her to see Ron/Harry have their own lives so she is more confident in living her own.
Applekissis: This chapter was just Hermione coming to terms with her decision.
SnapesPet30: Yes Ginny is a little gossip and even in the books she got whatever boy she wanted, so of course Hermione would want to one up her.

Hermione awoke the next morning feeling refreshed and happy. She had slept the night before and she knew exactly what she was going to say to Snape. She wanted to get to Hogwarts as soon as possible so she ate a light breakfast, had a quick shower and put on the outfit she had laid out the night before.
She first went to Hogsmede and then walked to Hogwarts castle. Arriving at the gates in the midmorning sun she stopped to think about what she was doing. She had decided what she was going to do. She thought about her family, her friends and what they would say. “But it’s my life and I deserve to be as happy as I can. Besides,” She thought, “I have a plan to control this arrangement of Snape-y poo’s” She giggled at the riddulous nickname for the strong and mysterious man.
She walked up to the grounds and into the castle. Classes were in schedule today so was not many students milling about. She made her way to Snape’s office and with a few guesses guessed McGonagall’s password. It was tartan. She walked up the stone steps and approached the desk Just then the chair swiveled around and McGonagall was facing her.
“Why it’s Hermione Granger, what are you doing back at Hogwarts? Have you come to take a teaching position?” McGonagall said while hugging the stuffings out of her.
“Well actually no ma’am I came to see Severus.” Hermione blushed. She thought about what she could say for why she wanted to see Snape. “We have been discussing lust potions and he thought I could be of help.” “D’oh! Why did I say that,” Hermione thought to herself. “Anyways do you know where he is?” she asked meekly.
“Well dear just hope he doesn’t try to test one of those potions on you. Can you imagine being with a man like him?” McGonagall kidded. Hermione was picturing her dream. “Well anyway he is back down in those drafty dungeons, after you have seen him, might you nip back up here for Tea with me?” she asked, looking at Hermione.
“That would be lovely but I’m not sure how long the meeting will take.”
“Well just come up when your done and we will have a drink and catch up a bit. Are you sure I cant convince you to join our faculty?”
“Ok ma’am and I’m not ready to teach full time yet. The ministry maybe hell, but I need to have time just yet to see where I’m headed with my life. I like working four days a week and having all that free time and space.” Hermione felt that came out wrong and she wasn’t as attached to her ho hum life as she said but she wasn’t sure she wanted to be at Hogwarts either.
Hermione left McGonagall and headed to the dungeons with a curt nod, a wave, and a lemon drop from the glass jar on the big desk.
