Allleged Remains of Augustus Rookwood Found — Next of Kin Sought For Identification
The alleged remains of Death Eater Augustus Rookwood were found by trainee aurors during a routine sweep of former hideouts of the Dark Lord. Surveillance of the Dark Lord’s ancestral home, Gaunt House, revealed two parties entering, one presumed to be Rookwood. Aurors have not publicly stated that any of the parties were seen leaving. Speculation as to the identity of the remains came after analysis of a wand (found at the scene) by renowned expert Garrick Ollivander, who confirmed the wand’s ownership.
The Aurors’ Office, in a surprisingly candid interview, expressed their concerns that Rookwood may have been meeting a group of rogue Death Eaters when he was ambushed. All auror leave privileges have been suspended and additional patrols will be visible throughout the community.
Rita Skeeter, in a recent article “Who Are the REAL Death Eaters?” speculated that rogue elements of the Order of the Phoenix, an allegedly secret society founded by the late Albus Dumbledore and led secretly by Hermione Granger, are responsible for the “cleansing”. New Marriage Contracting Service Opens in Diagon Alley
In an effort to address the turmoil surrounding pure-blood marriage contracts, Cornelius Fudge, former Minister of Magic, opened a new shop in Diagon Alley. “Magical Marriage-Makers” advertises itself as a “one-stop shop for lasting, fulfilling marriages in the new and expanded wizarding world”. The establishment can be found on the north side of Diagon Alley in a spot familiar to those with a sweet tooth; Magical Marriage-Makers has taken over the vacant space known for over a century as Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour.
In a press release received just prior to publication, Fudge stated:
“In this time when so many new relationships will be formed, it helps to have someone familiar with the entire wizarding community available to shepherd our young people during this most important of decisions. The right marriage can enhance a house for generations.”
