Ch 12
Hermione gaped. Boy scout feel? What was going on?
"I'm sorry but it was Voldemort that chose Harry, not us."
"Convenient excuse. Harry isn't a killer. Maybe if he went through some hard-core military training and gained a few years, then I could see it."
She studied Lanna for about a second. She was angry for Harry, angry at those that put him in front of themselves. Lanna was angry that Harry had not chosen this life. Lanna was angry that Harry wasn't like her; capable of killing...Wait...where did all that come from?! Why was she suddenly feeling this way?
"We are trying to get him the training necessary," Dumbledore reassures.
Dumbledore was up to something. He couldn't let this conversation continue, he couldn't let them know! It would be to soon...
Hermione gaped, how was she able to know this? What was Dumbledore hiding?
"Well, it's not working. And maybe someone who does already have the training should go after him. Stop trying to use lycanthropes and vampires and children and use yourselves," Lanna growled.
This old man's such a chess player using pawns, sacrificing the pawns more like it.
Hermione thought that over...everyone was in danger except Dumbledore...no one that was truly under his thumb was dying either...
Could Dumbledore truly be such a-a...manipulator, lier, killer?
"I'm sorry I can't answer all of your questions, but it is late. Most of us are either teaching or students tomorrow. Good Night."
What? This was his way out of the argument! How could we all have been so stupid?
Surprisingly Lanna and her mother were the first to leave, then the rest of the order was leaving too.
"What did you think of those Slytherin's questioning Dumbledore? Honestly," Ron muttered.
Crap! They're so close, hopefully Hermione didn't catch on...I don't really want to see her die...
I have to agree with him, "I agree, Ron. However, I think with time, they'll learn."
"Hermione..." Harry started.
I quickly gave him a look to the side and used my hair as a curtain to guard my expression from Ron. Harry understood immediately. "What do you think classes are going to be like tomorrow?"
What he meant was, what are we going to do about Ron? I gave him my classic lecture face, "The same...except there will be a few fundamental differences about your attention and quality of schoolwork!"
"Look out, mate, she's on the war path!"
"I'll talk to you later about your schoolwork! Now I suggest you sprint to the tower before I get there, Ron Weasley."
Like a charm, Ron ran to Gryffindor tower. I turned back to Harry but before I could even open my mouth, Lanna materialized out of the shadows. "I thought he'd never leave. Harry, I have an offer for you and Hermione."
"What?" we both asked.
"Training. My mother and I want to train you to be able to kill."
