In which Lucius makes a mistake

Ok, today I had a MASSIVE stroke of inspiration and finished the story. As this is really just a daft piece to make Jilliane happy, I\'m not going to wait days to post em. I\'m putting them all up today, so enjoy! SP

Chapter Twelve In which Lucius makes a mistake

Lucius duly wrote and sent the letters outlining his demands to Snape, and then A-polyjuiced himself into Studdy to observe the younger man as he read the aforementioned epistle.

Snape frowned at the owl as it dropped the scroll onto the desk. He noticed at once the silver and green ribbon and groaned.

“What have you done, you foolish boy?” he wondered aloud as he reached for the parchment.

Dear Severus,

I am sure that, by now, you have noticed a rather obvious lack in regards to your personal effects. I can help you locate and ensure the safe return of said item in exchange for an antidote. Please do not insult either of our intelligences by pretending you do not know to which antidote I refer.

If you are amenable to this arrangement, then ensure that the antidote is made and then hand it to my house elf, who will be awaiting it outside your rooms tomorrow, and every day next week, at midday. Don’t bother to question him, he will not answer you.

Once I am cured, I shall ensure that the missing item is sent back to you. I may, of course, wish to check that my equipment functions, and might choose to test it on whatever is lying about.

That would be if I am kept waiting an excessive amount of time.

Yours,

Lucius Malfoy.

Please don’t bother trying to trace the letter, you won’t find from where it was sent, and even if, by some ridiculous stroke of luck, you did, it was not sent from your belonging’s current location.

Lucius watched through the peep hole, seeing Severus’ face darken with anger, then pale with fear and concern.

Such ridiculous care shown over a whore! Malfoy thought, He must be truly excellent. Hmm, perhaps I will test my equipment in the boy.

Lucius could almost reconstruct the thoughts running through Snape’s mind:

I don’t want that blond sex god to have the cure, but what can I do? My slut needs me. He’s less than a month away from giving birth. I daren’t risk him being hurt. And, Merlin! I have to get him away from Lucius before that beautiful man touches my whore.

Malfoy smiled to himself. Perhaps he had got a few of the descriptions mixed up, but that was, in essence, what Snape was thinking.

He moved away from the door before returning to Potter’s location. Ignoring the glower he received from the younger man, he settled into his chair before snapping his fingers.

Studdy appeared. “Yes, master?”

“Elf, I require five of your hairs. Pluck them out and put them on the salver.” He pointed to the silver tray on the small table at his left hand side.

Hiding a wince, Studdy obeyed before being dismissed.

“What was that for?” Harry asked curiously, feeling rather sorry for the down-trodden elf. He noticed the similarity to Dobby and wondered if it was the resemblance that was making him so upset about the elf’s treatment.

“That, Potter, was for part of my great plan.”

Harry rolled his eyes at the other’s vanity, and wished vainly for something to read. He remembered the magazine on the floor and muttered dark words. He couldn’t even bend over and pick it up!

“You turned it into a portkey, right?” Harry asked, nodding at the rolled up paper on the stone flags.

“Indeed. Your dear Sev will be most cross to learn you were gulled so very easily. But then, I imagine he enjoys your body, not your brains.” Lucius grinned, “Do you know, I seem to recall him utterly losing his heart and mind over a pathetic American boy a long time ago. I doubt he has it in him to love anyone else. He as good as told me the boy had contacted him again, which makes me wonder exactly what he is using you for.”

Harry burst out laughing. “Could you be blonder?!” he chuckled. “I’m Aidan! I always was.”

He collapsed into fits of giggles at the older man’s shocked face.
