Albus intervenes.

Severus lay in his bed for hours after Hermione left. He could feel his cock tingling when he thought of her and could taste her kiss in his mouth. Gods, she was a beautiful witch. He had been fascinated by her intelligence for such a long time but it hadn’t occurred to him she was the full package, amazing inside and out. And they had been good together. She had three orgasms, she was so ready for him. He congratulated himself with a small smirk and an image of her face as he fucked her made his cock harden. He wished she had stayed.

He replayed their conversation over and over again. He thought perhaps she was a little jealous of Selene and that’s why she had done a flit. It was ridiculous, Severus thought. Selene was in the dream, she wasn’t real. And she wasn’t Hermione. He ruminated for a moment and his face fell. A sudden realisation hit him. Hermione wanted Annalin, not him. She had realised this and that’s why she left. It was Annalin that had her so fired up. How could he have been so stupid to think it was him she wanted? But she let him think she wanted him and let him fuck her, while all the time she was probably thinking of Annalin’s face and not his

‘Damn the witch!’

Hermione was restless and very tearful. She was trying hard not to cry, but each time she closed her eyes she could see Severus’s face as he bent to kiss her and she wanted him so badly it was hurting her. But she wasn’t what he wanted. It was Selene. And why wouldn’t he? She was beautiful, her body ripe and luscious, even Hermione could see why he wanted her.

Hermione started to cry again.

Albus walked to the dungeons quickly, his long sky blue robe swishing quietly around his feet at he walked. He could feel the situation slipping from him even as he increased his pace. There was only one thing for it, Severus needed to know the truth, if only to help him stem his temper. If he took things out on Hermione, all his plans would be thwarted with no hope of reconciliation and the outcome… well, he didn’t want to consider that.

He arrived at the dungeon and unwarded the door. He walked in and could hear Severus shouting in his chambers. He approached with caution and peered around the door a little. He saw Severus letting loose with his wand around his sitting room, red sparks flying as he destroyed his bookshelves, broken glass flying around the room as a bottle of Firewhisky caught the brunt of a particularly well-aimed shot.

Albus sighed and pulled his wand out quickly, stepped around the door and pointed at Severus, who had his back to him as he obliterated a particularly tasteful set of drapes.

‘Stupefy!’ Albus muttered under his breath, then ran forward to catch Severus as he fell, laying him gently on the floor. ‘Sorry, my dear boy… you will thank me another time.’ Albus surveyed the room and flicked his wand. The destroyed books righted themselves and flew back on the shelves and slowly, the room returned to normal.

Albus pointed his wand at Severus. ‘Levicorpus’ he whispered and gently moved him onto the couch.

He settled himself into one of Severus’s very comfortable armchairs, lit the fire and accioed two large glasses of Firewhisky before pointing his wand again at the stupefied wizard.

‘Rennervate’ Albus spoke quietly and lifted his Firewhisky, taking a delicate sip.

Severus came to and glanced over at Albus. It didn’t take a genius to work out what had happened and he scowled, pulling himself up into a sitting position.

‘Have a drink, Severus.’ Albus handed him the second glass and Severus drank it down in one. Albus smiled a little. ‘Feel better, my boy?’

Severus grunted at him. ‘I do not think Miss Granger will be back to fulfil her teaching duties, so your little plan hasn’t worked, old man. I know you’ve been meddling, but what I don’t understand is why. I thought you were fond of Miss Granger. What possessed you, Albus?’ Severus’s eyes gave away his pain and Albus sighed.

‘I admit I had hoped for a more…pleasant…outcome, but all is not yet lost, Severus. As always, I m working for the greater good, but in the right way this time. You need to know the truth, Severus, because I need your help…we all do…’ He pointed his wand at the bottle of Firewhisky and it floated over to where Severus was seated on the couch. ‘I think you will be needing this.’

Severus looked at Albus closely and sighed. Whatever this was, he knew it couldn’t be good.
