A Taste of Forgetfulness and As the World Falls Down
Warnings: Angst,AU/AR,Crossover,H/C,Language,M/M (slash in later chapters), OOC-ness only to the extent that it fits the movie and plot
Author's note--The titles are the same as the DVD. Here it is! The long-awaited "peach" scene and supposed to embody "As the World Falls Down"! I hope you like it as much as I do...of course, it's nothing hard core, but I hope it's still sweet enough. There will be MUCH hardcoreness later...but for right now, I think you should listen to the song while reading the chapter. haha Enjoy!
PS This is my way of apologizing for being absent for 3 days...here you go!

The Labyrinth
A Taste of Forgetfulness and As the World Falls Down
The team picked their way through the forest, following Helga Hufflepuff the badger. The farther they got from St. Mungo’s, the more normal Ron became. His language skills came back first, and he spent several kilometers colorfully cursing his grotesquely gargantuan body and mumbling about all of the extra hair. He was just holding up his arm, complaining to Hermione about it when it suddenly sucked back into his skin, leaving him with just the natural body hair he had before going into the Bog. A little while later, he unexpectedly tripped and fell over as he returned to his normal height. They had to stop and rest for a few minutes while Ron got his equilibrium back. A loud gurgle split the silence.
“Is that my stomach or yours, Helga?” Tonks said cheerfully.
“I’m bloody hungry,” Ron whined.
“We can’t stop now,” Harry said, even though he, too, was fatigued and starving. “Maybe we can find some berries or something.” Hermione dropped back a few paces and pulled the Snitch out. It was a golden, perfect-looking peach. Hermione sighed, resigned to her fate.
“Uh, Harry?” She said softly. Harry dropped back to walk with her, smiling. That made her feel even worse.
“Yeah?”
“Here,” she handed him the peach before she could change her mind. She smiled wanly as his face lit up.
“Oh, thank you! You’re a life saver!” He closed his eyes and bit into the peach. Hermione stopped walking and cringed, waiting for a bad reaction. For several seconds, nothing happened; Harry was just chewing with his eyes closed, appearing like he was savoring the taste. Hermione hoped against hope that it was okay, but then Harry’s eyes popped open.
“This tastes strange,” his voice sounded far away. “Hermione, what have you done?” His eyes glazed over as his form crumpled to the ground. Tears came to Hermione’s eyes as she stared at him.
“Oh, damn you, Voldemort!” She exclaimed. “And damn me, too!” She took off running blindly back the way they came as fast as she could, sobbing. Harry managed to drag himself to a sitting position up against a tree.
“Everything’s dancing,” he said dreamily, passing out.

“Yeah, Nelly! Whoa, Helga, whoa!” Tonks stopped her badger at the edge of a cliff. There was a break in the trees and a clear view of the Manor, large and close. Ron and Tonks exchanged excited grins. “The castle doth lie yonder, young sir!” There was no answer from Harry, and they both whipped around, not seeing him. “Young sir? Young sir? Young sir?”

Harry was dressed in a smashing tuxedo, even fancier than the one he wore to the Yule Ball. The room appeared to be large and cavernous, decorated elegantly with thousands of floating candles and fine draperies. Everyone around him was dressed much like he was, in tuxedos and elegant ball gowns, except that they were all wearing masks, every last one of them. He was the only one without a mask, and he pushed through the crowd, not sure what he was looking for. Some were dancing while others were just standing and talking, but everyone looked like they belonged and were having a good time. He was the only one who felt lost and out of place. Everyone near him stared at him as he passed by; even those who were dancing, as they were twirling, kept their masks trained on him. As he walked around, a familiar face with soft grey eyes and pale blonde hair followed his every move.
It reminded Harry of the Yule Ball at Hogwarts. Even Fred and George had dressed up, but they had brought some of their pranks to the Ball during their years. Harry pushed through the crowd, and then suddenly he saw what he was looking for. The people parted, and he was riveted by a blonde man with an intricate dragon mask on a stick. As he watched, the young man reached up and removed his mask. It was Draco! They stared at each other, green eyes riveted to ice grey, until another party goer passed in between them, and Harry lost sight of Draco. He looked around, confused.
He walked by a group of people clustered around a tea service. Harry peered over their shoulders, and someone handed him a cup of tea. He smiled and brought the cup to his lips. He jumped back, narrowly avoiding spilling the tea on himself, as the cup tried to clamp down on his nose! The group broke into peals of laughter, and Harry flushed bright red, turning away abruptly and looking for an escape. He didn’t notice the sad grey eyes that followed him, upset merely because he was upset.
There seemed to be an endless sea of people that Harry was wading through, and his heart began to sink the longer he looked without seeing that familiar face. As he passed, Draco smiled lovingly behind him, but Harry didn’t see. Draco’s smile was only slightly tainted with his usual sneer, and the blonde turned away, melting unseen back into the crowd. Suddenly it seemed to Harry that everyone was pairing off and laughing at him for not having anyone. The number of people dancing increased, and Harry felt like the mouse in a game of ‘cat and mouse’. He desperately wanted to find Draco, and he spun in a circle, not seeing him.
He looked left, and suddenly, there he was. He was dressed elegantly in an expensive black tuxedo—fancier, even than Harry’s own—with silver and green highlights. There were two beautiful looking women with masks fawning all over him, and Harry’s heart began to break. His breath caught in his throat as Draco’s smoldering grey eyes never left his; the blonde extracted himself from both women and sauntered towards him. The walk was achingly familiar, and Harry’s heart fluttered, along with his stomach, and his pants suddenly grew tight as Draco glided up to him and pressed against his front. This was the closest they had ever been and not been angry. He thought he felt Draco’s matching hard-on rubbing up against him, and he raised his face, his mouth opening slightly in anticipation of the sweet kiss that the taller boy was leaning down to plant on his waiting lips.
Their lips touched, and fireworks exploded behind Harry’s eyes. This was exactly how he imagined his first kiss with the attractive blonde, and the fact that it was happening at all made it so much better. He realized that he might have felt more for Draco as soon as he vowed to protect the blonde’s dignity, and he was terrified and more than certain that Draco would just make fun of him if he ever found out about Harry’s true feelings. Harry knew Draco was just drop-dead sexy when he was angry and bloody gorgeous when he wasn’t (but only when he had his mouth shut), and his heart soared to find out that Draco, too, was attracted to Harry!
Draco’s hands came up to his back, and he broke the kiss to whirl Harry around slowly in a ballroom dance frame. Harry aligned his hand on Draco’s shoulder, their other hands clasped and held out to their sides properly, as they stared into each others eyes and began their first dance. He realized that everyone was looking at them again, but this time, it felt right. They were staring because Harry and Draco made a stunning couple. They were physical opposites, and yet their rhythm together was spot on; the contrast was exquisite. Harry couldn’t remember a time when he felt happier; this was perfect. He could stay like this forever…
A clock chimed, and he snapped back to his senses. This wasn’t real! This was a mind game! Whoever was standing in front of him, pretending to be Draco, Harry didn’t know, but it wasn’t Draco! Harry pushed away abruptly, turned, and began fighting through the crowd. It was suddenly ten times harder to get through, but he began shoving people out of the way unceremoniously. Draco watched him go, but he didn’t follow. There was a look of crushing disappointment on the blonde’s face, and Harry turned back for one last glimpse. His heart twisted, but the clock kept striking. He had one hour left! He ran blindly, only to come upon a convex mirror that bulged outward towards him, like a bubble. His reflection was huge, and he turned away. He spied an empty chair, and he grabbed it. Harry hurled the chair at the mirror, and as it shattered, so did the entire illusion. People began screaming as the world came apart, and Harry was falling, dressed in his normal clothes once again, only he wasn’t falling fast. It was a rather slow flutter downward, until he landed in a garbage heap.

Hermione sat beside her bookshelf once more. This time, she had torn out pages from several books and built a small campfire. Tears streamed down her face unchecked and threatened to extinguish her fire. She didn’t bother to stop them; never in her life had she felt as miserable as she did right then. The look on Harry’s face and his words kept playing through her mind as she condemned herself over and over.
“He’ll never forgive me,” she sobbed quietly to herself. “What have I done?” She looked into the fire as if it had an answer.
“I’ve lost my only friend,” she said, bowing her head as fresh tears dripped from her face. “That’s what I’ve done.”

Author's note--Eh? Cute? "Not long enough"? haha There will be "good stuff" after the movie, so if this wasn't quite enough for you, have no fear!
WeasleyWench--Thanks for reviewing! I wish I could plan stuff out to the end. I generally get ALMOST there and then get writer's block. Maybe I have an aversion to endings or something. *sigh* I don't know. But I somehow bought a "What Will Happen in Harry Potter 7" book at Barnes & Noble (I swear to Merlin, it just jumped into my bag! I promise!)
And I was reading it...and the odds are 2 to 1 (or whatever means "more than likely") that Draco will die! *sad and so completely traumatized* And there was absolutely NO mention of a Harry/Draco context, and I'm like, "That's not right! Draco will end up with Harry!" and of course, the book speculates that IF Harry survives Book 7, he'll end up with Ginny...that little bitch. *sigh* ARGH It's just not right, I tell you! I'm also gearing up for the possibility that either Harry or Draco or both of them will die in Book 7, and HOPEFULLY I can avoid any sort of major traumatization/depression if it actually happens. Here's the way I see it: if I expect the worst, then if it happens, it's what I expected. If it doesn't, well, it can only go up from there, right? Hopefully...
Maizeysugah--*sigh* Sorry, she had to! It was in the movie, so I take no responsibility for that. But the good part is that we got a LITTLE bit of action out of the deal. And thanks for reviewing; I'm glad you're still liking it! If you MUST know...there are only four chapters left of the "movie" portion! However, I am tying it all up at the end and adding some HOT scenes just because! :D That's always good, eh?
thrnbrooke--Thank you! I'm glad you liked Tonks in this capacity! That makes me happy!
