“You’re completely off your nut, Hermione,” said Harry. “There is NO way that Malfoy and I are even remotely…”
“But you’re both gay,” said Hermione as if she were on a huge breakthrough. “You both love Quidditch, you both fought in the war that defeated Voldemort, you both don’t have siblings, and you both love treacle tart!”
“Just because we have things in common, doesn’t mean that we’d make a good couple,” sighed Harry. “Besides, we don’t like each other…”
“You only think you don’t. They say there’s a fine line between love and hate.”
“Hermione, a snake and a lion aren’t friends.”
“But what about a dragon and a griffin?”
Harry blinked. “What?”
“Face it, Harry, you both have that ‘animal magnetism’ that continues to draw you together. That is why you ended up working in the same department; that is why you keep bumping into each other; that is why Malfoy became your partner in the Nott case—”
“That’s called coincidence…”
Hermione smiled. “Trust me, Harry. You’re both being pulled together like magnets, only it’s a natural human emotion that’s doing it.”
