I do not own Harry Potter, nor any of the characters from the books or movies. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
What Makes A Man A Beast
Ccrawley: Thank you, and yes, very hot and heavy.
Cateye: Yes Snape is in this chapter. I am in agreement with you on Ginny and Snape for this particular story.
Gryffjr: Okay, you don’t have to read through peepers in this chapter. Snape and Ginny are not going to happen. You’ll see why when you read this chapter.
Allie: Yes, I will and here it is.
Xenija: I like Snape and Ginny but I don’t feel that this the appropriate story for them. And I am pleased; I hope you’re still checking.
Lady Lynn: I am pleased you won’t be too disappointed then. I hope you like this chapter. Me too, I am hoping that it’s either Snape or Harry she’s saved from death.
Lisa: Totally agree with you, but it was heat of the moment, but I have it all sorted. Managed to shoot that old plot bunny down. *insert Elmer Fudd laugh here!*
Herms Lover: Well, sweet isn’t a word I’d use to describe them. More sort of – hot!
Sailor Tiamat: Whilst I agree with you that Snape and Ginny are a cool couple, it didn’t work for the way I want this story to go, I hope you are not too disappointed because of this. Thank you too about the slow development – very few people fall instantly in love.
Dee Dee: As soon as Fenrir stepped onto the pages of HBP I thought that it made perfect sense as to why Hermione managed to fake the call of the Werewolf so brilliantly, after all that isn’t in the book, so it must be for a reason ... so let the reason be that she gets turned into one. As for talent? Well, I still think that there is room for improvement. All cool idea’s on your second review by the way.
Sbrande: Calm down, there is no sex scene between Ginny and Snape. I didn’t feel it right for this story and managed to work my way round it. I hope this chapter relieves you of that stress.
Mary: Yes, there isn’t. And as for the portrait ... well, that might or might not happen. Depends on where the muse takes me.
Angel: Yes I hope for all that too, but the muse can be fickle at times.
Christina: Thank you and yes; they are good ideas. I am not sure about Hermione dying though. But I like them.
Annie: Well, maybe. I hope you like this chapter.
Cecilia: Sorry, I wanted to but the muse told me no. She said it wasn’t right for the story, and I agree with her. I hope you understand why when you read this chapter.
JCM: Thank you for saying that. I am adding on more and here is the proof.
Lydia Marie: Thank you. I do love detail. And ... well I’m sure you know by now.
Wover: That’s the idea. I hope you like this one to.
Hongske: Thanks for the muchos love and it could be or could not be. I’ll have to talk to the muse about that. She’s very tight-lipped on this story, which explains the fact that there are very few updates.
Social Stalker: Sadly I do not watch/read anime but I know a lot of people that do so I take that as a compliment. I like my Fenrir.
Xxtoxicntwistedxx: Next chapter is out now. I am sorry for the long delay. Blame the muse.
Madeleine: I’ll try.
Mysilentwolf: First of all, cool name! Second, sorry. I am sure you’ve read my explanation.
Sky: Then you’ll be happy to know that the muse didn’t like it either. Answers to your questions will be answered as soon as I can get to that part.
Christina: Well ... that is something that may be possible. Damn fickle muse!
Lovekitten: I hope you enjoy the next episode.
Skylar Schaeffer: Then I guess you’ll love me forever.
xXxSierraxXx: Story continued. And they are here now.
Jess: I hope you continue to love it after this.
Tink: Well, sorry, but I hope you understand why I won’t go for Snape/Ginny in this story.
Ladydelisha: You would think wouldn’t you? Not in my stories.
The Lady In Blue: Okay, I’ll send an email if you haven’t seen the update first.
Jess: Okay, I think this proves I will update.
Selaith: Thanks and I love Death Eaters/Slytherins with Hermione, so I couldn’t resist when Jo wrote Fenrir. He intrigues me.
Ryuslilsakura: Here it is. And I hope you like it.
Alostandscareddreamer: I will finish it when the muse decides to play with me.
What Makes A Man A Beast
Ginny and Severus had been avoiding each other since that morning they woke up in each other’s arms. He had actually been avoiding the whole Weasley clan. If it was any more possible the hatred in Potter’s eyes had grown an extra intensity that Severus was only thankful that the boy had a conscience.
Ginny found the tension unbearable. She wanted to talk to someone about what had happened between her and Severus. But there was no one. She smiled at her reflection. A week had passed and she looked at the sleeping form of her boyfriend. She looked back in the mirror and sighed.
She couldn’t sleep. She had a headache and she was bursting with her secret. She checked her watch. It was early morning. She thought it was safe to walk downstairs to the library. She decided she’d rather sit in the library with a very boring book and cool drink than stay with her snoring lover. She crept down the stairs to the kitchen and poured out a glass of ice-cold lemonade. She walked into the Library and went over to the far corner of the bookshelves.
She picked a random book off the shelves and went to the nearby chair. She curled up and picked up her lemonade and took a sip from it. She whipped her wand out and lit the tip of it so that she could read.
She opened the book and started reading the introduction. She had begun to really get stuck in the book when the door opened; she looked up and saw someone walk in the room.
“I couldn’t sleep, Harry, I’ll be up in a minute.”
“It’s not Potter,” a cool voice said. Ginny looked up and pointed the light of her wand at the intruder.
“Snape?” she asked.
“When I last looked,” he replied. She giggled a little. “And, you might find this a whole lot easier to read by.”
He whisked his wand at the candles in the sconces set in the walls. One bright one flickered over her head. It haloed the petite redhead, she was glowing softly in the light and the fire reflected in her eyes.
“So, you can’t sleep either,” she said.
“No,” he replied. “I can’t!”
Ginny gulped down the last of her lemonade and unwound her legs and placed her feet on the floor. She marked where she was in the book and placed it on the table beside the chair. She looked at the man before her.
“Well, I best get back to Harry before he wakes up and panics.”
“Good night,” he said.
Ginny walked by him and her hand swung on his arm. It sent jolts through his arm and her fingers. He smiled as he looked at her. He remembered how she looked twisting and writhing beneath him. She blushed a little.
“I am sorry, sir.”
“No, don’t be,” he murmured. Her scent wafted up his nostrils and he smirked slightly.
She lowered her eyelids and coughed slightly. “Well, I best be on my way.”
“Yes,” he said stepping aside so that she could walk out of the room. She took one step when he grabbed her hand and pulled her to him. He wrapped an arm around her waist and clamped her tightly to his body.
“What the -?” she began to question. She was about to push him away when he clamped his mouth on hers. She struggled a little but soon gave in when his tongue slipped inside her protesting mouth. “Severus,” she moaned.
“I’ve forgotten how sweet you tasted,” he murmured.
“You’re in love with Hermione!” she said. “I’m in love with Harry!”
“I know but I can’t get you out of my head. This past week has been torture. I can’t stand to see you with that mere boy when I have had you. I couldn’t even enjoy you properly.”
Ginny pushed him away and looked at him; her eyes widened and her heart hammered in her chest. “That is not the point, Severus. I love Harry and there is an end to the subject.”
Severus sighed. He smiled and tucked a copper red coil behind her ear. “I think that you are as beautiful and intelligent as Hermione. If she stepped in this room now I’d be in a right quandary.”
Ginny shook her head. “I love Harry. I am not the girl for you.”
“Let me be the one to decide that,” he said.
“No, Severus. I love Harry.”
Severus looked at the petite young witch and noticed the fiery look in her eyes. He spun her around and flung her against the bookshelves.
“I am a realist, Ginevra, if Hermione is with Fenrir Greyback then I am not going to ever have a chance with her. Whereas I might have a chance with you!”
“So you’re not even going to fight for her,” Ginny gasped. She was appalled by his attitude.
Severus sighed. “Greyback has been begging for a mate from the Dark Lord for as long as I can remember. He’s obviously got tired of waiting for HIS permission and decided to go ahead and find one himself. He’s chosen Hermione,” he sighed. “He is also very powerful and strong as a Wizard.”
“So you are giving up?”
“I am not giving up,” he answered stroking her cheek with the tips of his fingers. She leant in with an unconscious movement. “I am merely stating fact. Fenrir wants Hermione. She’s a werewolf, and yes I have strong feelings for her and I do want to help her. Maybe I would like to sleep with her but as for spending my life with her – that is another question entirely. Over the past week I’ve been watching you, little Ginevra. I am so pleased that HE didn’t kill you in the Chamber of Secrets. Please, Ginevra, at least once more?”
Ginny cast her eyes wildly about. She had to admit that her main reason for avoiding this man was that she had started fantasizing about him. She had to walk away otherwise she would do something stupid.
“I’m sorry, Severus,” she sighed. “I just don’t feel comfortable with the idea of you feeling this passionate towards me when deep down inside you belong to someone more of Hermione’s ilk.”
“Isn’t that for me to decide,” he murmured. “Just like you’ve got to decide whether you belong to either me or Potter?”
“I belong to Harry – I know that!”
Severus tilted his head to one side. He sighed. He closed his eyes and Hermione’s face floated in front of him all smiling and eyes sparkling with knowledge.
“And I do belong to Hermione,” he confessed.
“Then will you let me go?”
“No,” he said. “You’ve tortured me for a whole week I need some payback.”
“But we’ll be consciously betraying several people we love, at least last time it was an accident. You might be able to live with that fact but I certainly can’t. Especially betraying Harry who doesn’t deserve that treatment, and Hermione definitely doesn’t. Sorry, Severus, but we can’t do this. At least I can’t I love them both too much.”
Severus backed away and stared at her. She returned the gaze and shook her head. She then walked out of the library and ran up the stairs. She had to get to Harry soon. Severus looked around the library. What was his problem? Ginevra was right. He had a perfectly wonderful woman as it was. He should do more to find her.
He walked to his room and kicked the wardrobe with his foot. He sat on the bed and held his head in his hands. He groaned in frustration before realizing what he had to do.
He took a cold bath to cool down his raging erection and got dressed. He had to research possible areas of England where a family like the Greybacks would live and find her as fast as he could. Ginevra was right. He did need Hermione. He needed her badly.
^*^*^*
Hermione had looked around Greyback Grange and noticed that it was cleaning up nicely. It actually had an elegant beauty about it. She gazed at the rooms that Fenrir had just cleaned. He thought she was being a bit too fussy with the cleaning. It was better than it was when they first entered a week ago.
“Well?” he asked eventually.
She looked at him. His dark eyes smouldered at her. She wanted to brush aside his hair and make him smile. She looked down at his body and bit her lower lip. He strode over to her and tilted her chin up.
“Y – yes,” she stammered. “Yes, it’s clean enough now. At least it won’t be totally useless to have a bath.”
He sighed and his face brightened slightly. He could not believe his good luck. He looked down at her naked body and licked his lips. He went to kiss her but her body shone blue and he jumped back yelping.
“Bloody chastity curse!”
She giggled. “Don’t worry about that. I will lift it when the bath is run.”
“So, we are?”
“Yes,” she replied.
“I want you, Hermione, and you’ve played with me all week. I’m warning you if you’re lying to me?”
“Would you relax! I am not lying to you,” she sighed. She rubbed her hands on his chest. “I must admit that since that kiss I’ve had to control myself to.”
Fenrir leered and his eyes glinted darkly. “I hoped you would see things my way.”
She walked past him and he followed her watching her walk sexily out of the Morning Room. She took hold of the banister of the stairs and turned and looked at him and winked. She took the steps two at a time and he grinned at the slightly wobbling buttock cheeks. He wanted to bite into them.
She walked past the portrait of her namesake and she winked at her. Fenrir scowled at all his leering male ancestors. He made sure that first thing tomorrow they would be located elsewhere.
She turned around and winked saucily at him. She looked down at his penis and smiled at him. He smirked at her. “Listen, Hermione, I need to tell you a reason why I was so willing to clean this place up.”
Hermione tilted her head and turned around. She frowned. “Go on.”
“I want to prove that I can be a good mate and father to my cubs and wife.”
Hermione looked into his eyes. “This means a lot to you doesn’t it?”
“I want to get rid of this hatred to Werewolves,” he said.
“And biting little boys won’t help that much,” she said plainly.
Fenrir sighed. “I know. But Lupin hasn’t suffered too much through it. He’s got his mate; he’s had friends, and he’s been loved despite it all,” Fenrir started. “I have never been loved! NEVER!” he growled. “My mother ran out on me when I was three leaving me in the mercy of my father. He bit me when I was four! He had even bit a few of the village boys.”
Hermione lowered her eyes and walked towards him. “That was horrible.”
“He took me when I was fifteen to the village and pointed at a three year old boy with blond curly hair, red cheeks, and sparkling blue eyes. He was – well – adorable.”
“He sounds like my dream son,” she said.
“He was cute,” Fenrir agreed. “And at fifteen I thought that he was the sort of child I wouldn’t mind having with the right woman. Anyway,” he sighed. “My father stated that he had earmarked that sweet little boy to be his next victim.”
Hermione placed her hands on his broad shoulders. “What did you do?”
“I warned the child to stay in that night,” Fenrir replied. “My father found out. As punishment he captured the boy and brought him here,” Fenrir gulped. “That little boy was my first victim! Once I tasted blood I turned wild. As far as I know Lupin has not bitten anyone – and that is the main reason why he is still reasonable as a human.”
Hermione looked down and coughed awkwardly. “And me? Do you wish me to bite anyone?”
“No!” Fenrir exclaimed. “The taste of blood is too strong to leave you. One of the reasons why I chose you was because I sniffed your personality. You are too good a soul to be tainted by that particular rite.”
Hermione laid her head against his chest. It seemed that Fenrir was not the person he seemed to be. She wanted to help him. He needed the help.
“Come on,” she sighed. “Let’s take a bath together.”
They closed the door.
“What a wuss!” one of the male ancestors exclaimed. “Crying on her shoulder like that. He’s supposed to be a dangerous beast. Not a fluffy white rabbit!”
“Well, at least he spoke the truth to the girl,” portrait Hermione answered. “And at least he shows her tenderness.”
“What do you think that might mean?” another female ancestress said.
“It means,” said the first one. “That he’s a wuss!”
“No it doesn’t!” portrait Hermione exclaimed hotly. “It means he cares for her. You know, she might be the best thing to ever happen to this decaying dynasty.”
“No,” the first portrait said. “He’s a wuss.”

Severus walked down the stairs and was about to creep out of the house when a few burners lit up. He turned around and Remus stepped out of the shadows. The light fell across his face making the werewolf look menacing.
“What are you doing?” he asked.
“I am going to the Ministry to find out if there is any information on the whereabouts of the Greyback family.”
Lupin sighed. “You can’t go out there unprotected.”
“I need to,” the dark haired man replied. “I need to find Hermione. I love her too much!”
Lupin sighed and his dropped with it. “I’m coming with you.”
“No!” Severus said. “You have to stay here for Potter and Ginevra.”
Remus looked up at the ceiling and rolled his eyes. “Both those two have been through enough and neither listen to me anyway.”
“Not the point,” Severus replied. “You have to be here. I have to be out there. I cannot wait around when no one is doing anything. Hermione is my Witch and I’m going to do anything to get her back!”
Remus sighed. “All right,” he said. “But try not to get hurt.”
“I may not have magic but I can still intimidate people,” Severus said. “And Remus,” he said before walking out of the door. “Thanks for the concern.”
Remus smiled. He looked at his school peer. “I mean it, Severus, try not to get hurt.”
Severus smiled and walked out of the house. He walked down the street and turned around to look at Grimmauld Place. He had a strange suspicion he’d never see the house again.
A/N – So, Ginny and Snape have sorted out the problem and Severus is now off to find Fenrir any way he can. Hermione is beginning to understand Fenrir more, and it looks like she’s going to help Fenrir a lot. What is going to happen next on Hungry Like The Wolf? Tune in when the muse strikes again.
