Revelations
Lucius swirled his glass in agitation as Severus watched, his eyebrow twitching in irritation.
“Would you stop that insufferable moping Lucius?” Severus snarled finally, after 10 minutes, “The Dark Lord may do what he wishes with whomever he wants now. You don’t get a say in the matter.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Lucius glowered at Severus almost childishly. Severus just shook his head with a sarcastic laugh and stared back into the fire, “talk about moping Severus. Looked in a mirror lately?”
‘The werewolf is just being an insufferable prat.” Severus flung his glass into the fire with an angry swing of his arm. Lucius watched in entertainment as his normally calm friend exhaled sharply through his roman nose, his fingers pinching the bridge of said nose in frustration.
“Quite a show you’re giving me Severus. Care to share?” Lucius leaned back in the comfortable armchair, happy to be distracted from his agonizing.
Severus glared at him, “No I don’t Lucius. The Dark Lord only knows that I don’t need any more reasons for you to laugh at me.”
“But I do that already.” Lucius smirked at his friend, his left hand still absently swirling the glass. Snape ignored him, his long powerful fingers still massaging his temple. He sighed and peered into the fire, the smoldering embers reflected in his eyes.
“I don’t know what the hell to do with him.” He muttered angrily in the fire, “The goddamm mutt has gone completely bonkers. All he does is stare at the moon and mutter nonsensical nothings while trying to tear his arteries out with his bare nails. I’ve locked him up for now, he’s on wolfsbane. He’s still good for the occasional fuck, I haven’t lost my touch yet.”
“Oh I remember it quite well Severus.” Lucius grinned, just to be creepy and to bring his friend out of his gloom, “You did have quite a touch my friend.”
“That’s horrid Lucius.” Severus looked almost horrified at the thought. Lucius chuckled as Severus glared at him for the 16th time that evening.
“Don’t think I’ve forgotten about you Lucius. How’s the little golden toy faring?”
“As pathetic as usual, and I’ll probably get him back even more pathetic then when he left.” Lucius sipped his glass.
“The Dark Lord just enjoys making an example of him Lucius. You must have expected this.”
“But not this often.” Lucius leaned back in his chair, “At least I wish that I knew what he was doing. I just get the Potter brat back bawling and blubbering like a child.”
“He is a child Lucius.” Severus looked at him, “You seem to keep on forgetting that.”
“Don’t remind me.” Lucius’s face was sour, “Still doesn’t change what he did. And it still doesn’t change what I have to do.”
“I agree.” Severus looked down before uttering the most human thing that Lucius had heard from him in all his years, “I miss Draco just as much as you do Lucius. That’s why I insisted on my part in your revenge.”
Lucius clenched his fists, his pity for the brat disappearing instantly, Draco’s face swimming before his vision. Severus glanced at him before staring back into the fire, “We still don’t know why he left.”
“I don’t care, all I know are my last words to him and the image of Potter standing over his dead body.” Lucius snarled, his mask crumbling in fury.
“Contain yourself Lucius, build the boy back up before breaking him down again.” Severus stood up, sticking a hand in his pocket before drawing out a emerald velvet diary, “Here. I’ve read it as you asked.” His voice shook in anger, “That’s why I’m sworn to your plan now and forever Lucius.” He strode out , his cloak billowing out from behind his powerful frame.
Lucius dropped the book into his lap, Draco’s diary falling open on his thighs.
Father would probably rather die than to know, oh the utter irony of it all. Me, the heir to the Malfoy line, in love with Harry Potter
