Hermione's Detour

Hermione's body rested peacefully in a bed, outside of the room that she occupied in St Mungo Albus Dumbledore, Minerva McGonagall and Severus Snape waited for Amanda Barrows. Mrs Barrows was a specialist healer in the treatment of traumatises victims of violence, sexual assaults and torture.

"Professors I have my diagnostic"

"Please, Healer Barrows tell us" said Professor Dumbledore.

"She had suffered physical and psychological damage; she was raped several times. I can't confirm if Mr Malfoy was the only attacker. She also was tortured, the scars in her back were a monstrosity, and we erased them. She had a dark device in her body; the Aurors determined that it was some sort of bonding devise"

"Bonding devise?" asked Professor Snape.

"Yes, we are guessing how the events happened. The most reasonable theory is that he tortured and raped her until she agreed to a wizard contract with him. We removed the thing easily due to Mr Malfoy's death"

"But she didn't testify?" asked Professor McGonagall

"She is too confused to understand what happened; she doesn't recognize Mr Malfoy as her torture. She created a fantasy in which he had feelings for her, she is too damaged. It is pretty normal in these victims, too much pain, too much suffering; reality turns unbearable for them so they create an alternative to soft the things"

"Oh Merlin! The poor thing!" said Professor McGonagall

"Now, now Minerva we must hear all of it" said Professor Dumbledore

"Professor Dumbledore is right Professor McGonagall, if Mr Malfoy Senior hadn't denounced his son, she would still be there being raped and tortured on normal basis. Draco Malfoy was obviously a very sick person; he killed his own father when he tried to rescue Miss Granger"

"Aren't there more witness?" asked Professor Snape.

"There was a house elf, but he committed suicide little after his master's death. Loyalty toward his master, a very common thing among those creatures"

"What do we do now Healer Barrows?" asked Professor McGonagall.

"You have two alternatives; you can let Miss Granger stay here. She will endure a long treatment and the hope of a total recuperation will be vague. The other alternative is the erased of her memories of the past ten days"

"You mean Obliviom?"

"Yes, Professor Snape, I suggested the use of the Obliviom. You may inform her of what had happened after performing it, I suggest someone among you three to do it. She won't fight if it is perform by a person she recognises. I won't have to remind you that in her current state she is a dangerous person"

The three professors discussed the possibilities for two hours; finally they decided that the Obliviom was the best thing to do. Professor Snape entered the room, he saw the girl crying softly.

"Hello, Miss Granger"

She didn't answer.

"Miss Granger I know that you are traumatised but you will be alright soon"

"No, you don't understand!"

"Yes, I do but-"

"No, he loved me. He protected me, he even killed his father for me! Now he is gone and I am all alone!"

Severus analysed for a moment the girl's words, could it be possible that Draco didn't hurt her. Lucius wasn't a saint; he could have tried to harm the girl. He was uncertain about the truth, but then he remembered Healer Barrows diagnostic. Miss Granger was obviously confused.

"It is going to be fine; you don't have to worry Miss Granger"

The last thing that Hermione heard that day was Obliviate. It was all gone after that.
