Confusion in Green

Chapter 11: Magic


Professor Snape stepped cautiously into the room, raising his wand as he walked. Slowly, he approached the animals that were consumed inside the swirling vortex of raw magic. Smiling despite the danger he knew he was in, Snape spoke in a very slow and controlled voice. Nothing like his usual curt or even brash self. “Draco, It’s me, Severus. You must return to your human shape. This is not the time or place to be transforming.” The lion merely curled closer into the snake at this command and yawned widely showing a mouthful of shining fangs. Snape sighed and took another step forward, trying to show that he was not frightened out of his wits.
“Harry, you really need to go back to your normal form now. This is not how all this should be explained. You must have questions. How will you ask them like this? I am not a parslemouth, nor is Draco.”
This captured the attention of the serpent and he slowly unraveled his body from that of the lion. Harry straightened his long cylindrical body out along the floor and it slowly began to shrink to a much shorter length. His head was growing shorter and rounder and his body was thickening. His tail split into two equal pieces and began to look like legs. Two strips of flesh broke apart from the upper body to form arms. The snakelike slits became a nose and hair grew out of the top of his head.
Snape had seen Draco transform many times through the years, but this is the first time he had ever seen anyone else do it. Well, apart from the rest of the Malfoy family. Though, they were all lions. He had never seen a snake. The transformation looked particularly painful. Snape watched as the snake slowly became a boy. He raised an appraising eyebrow as he looked down at the naked form on the floor of the green room.
Harry rose to his feet slowly inside the swirl of green and gold. His ebony hair blowing away from his face as the magic swirled even faster. His hand went to his side and met with the silky mane of the enormous lion sitting at his feet. Snape looked upon the scene and gasped, unable to control his surprise. He was looking into the face a god! It was like seeing a scene from a Greek epic. Complete with lion companion. Snape backed slowly to the door, softly speaking as he went. “When you are ready to talk to me come to my quarters. I will bar your door from any intrusion as I leave.” With that, he backed out the door and was gone.


Harry stood there with his hands tangled in the mane of the great lion. He was completely mesmerized by the sound of purring and the silky feel of golden fur beneath his fingers. The magic swirling around them was welcomed. It was like being inside an envelope of light. He knew that this was where he was supposed to be. This was his reason for living. Draco was his soul mate and this is what his grandfather had been talking about. He hadn’t even known that he had transformed. It just felt so right. Then Harry began to think about what Snape had seen when he stepped into the room. A snake and a lion and then the snake turned into Harry who was naked. What the hell? This was Draco he was petting! Weather he was a lion now or not, it was Draco who he had kissed, who he wanted to kiss again! Harry had to find out what was going on. He looked down and met silver grey eyes and froze. His hands were tangled in silky silver blonde hair and Draco was looking up at him from the floor. Draco was kneeling in front of Harry with a look in his eyes that Harry couldn’t really read. It looked like anticipation, and fear, and longing all at once.
Harry looked away and felt Draco’s head droop in defeat. He thought that Harry was rejecting him. Slowly, the former golden boy of Griffindor looked back and slid his hands out of the beautiful hair of his soul mate. Harry brought his hand under Draco’s chin and raised the Slytherin’s face till silver eyes met emerald. He gently urged the blonde boy to stand and face him.
“Draco, I am very confused by whatever is going on, but I plan to figure everything out.”
Draco tried to look away but Harry held his chin and wouldn’t let him. Harry let his hand fall from Draco’s chin and slide down the smooth pale skin of Draco’s back. He pulled Draco’s body against his and the feel of naked skin meeting was beyond anything Harry could imagine. He looked deep into those steely eyes and leaned his head down for a kiss. As their lips met and the kiss grew more passionate so did the magic swirling around them. The green and gold tornado expanded until it encompassed the entire room. Harry and Draco didn’t notice.
They were clutching at each other and kissing as if the world would come crashing down if they ever stopped. They pressed their bodies closer each feeling the hardness of the other. As they rocked against each other the magic swelled until you could see nothing in the room other than the swirling pulsing magic. They broke the kiss, heads tilting back and each calling out the others names as they climaxed together in the midst of the swirling raw energy they produced. As each boy spoke the others name the magic that had been contained inside the room broke free and spread in a wave through the entire castle. Walls shook and windows shattered. Students screamed and teachers went for their wands. All the doors in the castle were blown open and the magic traveled out into the sun. It spiraled up into the sky high above the grounds of Hogwarts and billowed into a great green and gold cloud that shone so bright it could be seen for miles around. Then the cloud formed two separate shapes, one of a great gold lion and the other of a shimmering green serpent. The two shapes wound together in the sky and formed one huge shining ball of light. The light shrunk and plummeted to the ground. At the spot where it hit a tree grew. Towering above the other trees on the grounds of the school.
All the students who had seen it ran to the safety of the castle. Professor Dumbledore sat in his office smiling. Professor Snape shook from head to toe and went for a glass of fire whisky. And a small book in the Department of Mysteries opened to the last page. A page that had been blank for generations on end suddenly shone brightly and letters formed. The book closed with a snap and no one could tell that it had ever opened. Harry and Draco collapsed on the floor of the room and slipped silently into the most peaceful sleep of their lives wrapped tightly around one another


~A/N~ Here is chapter 11, sorry it took so long. I have had a bad couple of weeks. Better late than never though. As to the questions. Yes Draco would be distantly related to Harry if he can turn into a lion. But it is very very very distant. You will find out a ton of info in the next chapter and if anyone ever finds out about that book. Hope you liked this chapter. I’ll try to get the next one to you sooner.
