far more comfortable than his cot. For the first time in what felt like
forever, he felt calm and relaxed…
Draco looked around a bit, disappointed to see Potter on the
other side of the big bed, stubbornly turned away. He had though… perhaps while
asleep, with his guard down, the brunette would… but
no. The taller boy seemed as guarded in sleep as a normal person would be in
the midst of a battle down at the dead end of Knockturn
Alley. He shouldn’t have expected to wake in Potter’s arms.
“No wake
Master.” an elf shushed him as soon as said creature popped in, apparently
knowing it had startled the blonde to no end as the blonde rushed to roll over
and face the sudden noise.
“Wha-”
“No speak.” the elf cut off his whisper, producing a vial
instead, “Master say when you wake, I to give you potion, too… you not wake
before eight, Master order, one sip for five hours… you take two sips.”
“What time is it?”
“Eleven. Two sips.” the elf responded, insisting on the
potion once more.
“Has
Master-”
“Master wake before, Master order potion for him and give
order when you wake.”
Draco took two sips, having been given such a potion often
while growing up. It was weak enough not to cause addiction, and as it did let
you dream, could be used as often as needed… many took it when over-stressed,
or just needing to fall asleep quickly.
Only once he was drifting off once more did Draco wonder
why, if Potter had woken before this, had he not gone back to his own bed… and
why the elf was not told to order Draco back to his cot upon waking.
