12 : A Revealing Conversation

Harry
and his friends were hanging out in his room (Ron still drooling
over the broom) when Remus dropped in.

“ Hi
everyone sorry to distrub you but I just realized that I forgot to
give Harry his birthday present.”
<>
“ Presents! I forgot
all about them.” Harry went to his old trunk and
pulled them out. “ We were in such a hurry to leave yesterday
that I stuck them in my trunk. I almost forgot about them.”
<>
Everyone
chuckled and watched as Harry torn into the presents. From Hermione
he got (big surprise) a book on defensive spells. Ron gave him an
assortment of WWW products and some sweets. Ginny gave him a self
inking quill and Mrs. Weasley gave him the usual housemade treats.
Hagrid gave him an unusual stone. It appeared to be a talisman of
some sort, he would ask Hagrid about it later. After thanking his
friends for their gifts it was time to open Remus’s gift.

“ Wow
Remus. When did you pick these up?” asked Harry. He held up
the motor-cycle jacket and helmet in awe.

“ While
you were in a fitting room trying on half the store. “ Remus
laughed as Harry stuck out his tongue at him.

“ They
are brilliant , thanks Remus. “ Harry gave Remus a hug and a
kiss on the cheek. He did not see the blush on Remus’s face
when he turned to put the gifts away.

“ Why
would he give you a motor-cycle helmet Harry “ asked Hermione.
<>
“ I
found Sirius’s flying motor-cycle in his vault “ answered
Harry. “ I wonder where Dobby put it?”

“ Dobby
“ he called.
<>
“ Dobby
popped into the room. “ Yes Harry Potter sir? “

“ Was
there a motor-cycle with the things that came from the bank? “
<>
“ Yes
sir. Dobby put it in the shed behind the house Harry Potter sir. Would
Harry Potter sir like Dobby to get it for you? “

“ That
ok Dobby. I will check on it later. “
<>
“ Is
Harry Potter sir needing Dobby for anything else sir. “
<>
“ That
will be all thank you. “ Harry said. Dobby disappeared with a
pop.

“ You
have a motor-cycle? Don’t you think that might be dangerous ,
you could get hurt “ said Hermione.
<>
“ Hum,
I have a lunatic Dark Lord that wants to kill me and you’re
worried about my bike “ stated Harry shaking his head.

Hermione
humphed and Ginny giggled.
<>
“ Seriously
Hermione thanks for the concern but I will be careful. Remus will
teach me how to ride it and there is plenty of area to ride it safely
at the Manor” Harry said.

“ Well
I’ll let you get back to whatever you were doing “ said
Remus.

“ Thanks
Remus. Do you want to work out with me later? “ asked Harry.

“ Sure
I’ll drop back after dinner “ said Remus.
<>
Later
after Ron and Hermione went off for some alone time ( in other words
some snogging time) Harry and Ginny were still hanging out.

“ So
when are you going to tell Remus that you want him? “ Ginny
asked.
<>
“ W-what
... h-how..” Harry sputtered. “ What do you mean by that? “

“ Come
on Harry. Unlike my dunderhead brother I know the truth. “

“ You
know that I’m , that I’m....”

“ Gay? It’s not that
hard to figure out “ Ginny stated.

“ Really
how? “ Harry asked.

“ One
, you’re gorgeous , girls are falling at your feet and you
could care less. “

Harry
snorted.

“ Two,
you look at Remus like you want to devour him , at least parts of him.

She
laughs, “ Come on Harry , admit it “.

Harry
shook his head. “ Fine you’re right. I really like him
but it’s pointless. I don’t know if he’s even gay
and if he is why would he want to be with me ”.

Ginny
looked at Harry like he was insane. “ Harry are you nuts. You
are a major catch. “

Harry
laughed.

“ It’s
just that he’s a mature man. I’m just a kid, what can I
possibly offer him. “

“ You
are gorgeous, smart, very mature and a very powerful wizard. Add an
arse that is mighty fine and what could he possibly not like. “

“ You’re
incorrigible you know that “ Harry laughed.

“ Seriously
Harry I think you will find that Remus likes you too. “

you really think so? “ asked Harry hopefully.

“ I’ve
watched him when he think no-one is watching. He looks at you like a
straving man at an all-you-can-eat buffet. He definitely wants you
for a main course. “

Harry
chuckled. “ So what do you think I should do oh wise one. “

Ginny
giggled. “ Flirt with him , trip and fall on him lips first,
or maybe ‘accidently’ drop your towel on the way from the
bathroom. “

“ GINNY! “ Harry
blushed. “ I am shocked! “

“ What
, I have six older brothers. Do you honestly think I’m demure
and innocent with Fred and George around “ she giggled. “
Tell him how you feel . He is probably hung up on the age difference
or his lycanthropy. “

“ That
doesn’t matter to me. “
<>
“ Tell
him that.” Said Ginny. “ If you want a relationship with
him you are going to have to do the pursuing. Remus will probably
never pursue you”.
<>
“ Thanks
Ginny. I guess I just needed a kick in the arse to come to my
senses.”
<>
“ You’re
welcome Harry. I’ll help in any way I can “ Ginny said. “ You deserve
to be happy." She got up and hugged him .
“ Take the next few weeks to feel him out. If you really want
him you’ll find a way. “

Ginny
left Harry to think about what she said.

‘ She’s
right. I want Remus and if there’s a chance I have to try! ‘. Harry
left his room with a new outlook on life.
