Disclaimer:
I do not own Harry Potter, nor any of the charcters from the books or movies. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
(Apologies & Gratitude)
I hate to break up the story with an A/N but I wanted to apologise for the obscenely long time it has taken me to post the new chapter of this fic. I was shocked when I realised it has been four months! Knowing my own frustration when I read stories doomed to remain unfinished, I hope you will forgive me for my absence now that I am making amends, and I also hope you believe me when I say that I will not leave this fiction unfinished. No matter what it takes!
I know there’s no need for excuses but I had some family issues over Christmas and blah blah, life happens and all that jazz. Thankfully things are much better now on that front. I also found myself overwhelmed a bit by the situation I had set up for myself in this tale. Trying to fathom the psychology of someone like Severus while trying to factor in five years of further mental torment is rather difficult for a novice writer. I’ll leave it to you to judge whether or not I do his complex character justice. :)
Thank you to all who have read my fic and I hope you like what’s to come.
~ Love, Marie.

I fell shockingly behind on these which is the other reason for this mid-story personal post. I am grateful for every review I receive and each one is important to me. Thank you for taking the time to tell me what you think.
(Some of these replies are backdated to 20th November so I don’t blame you if you don’t remember them! Haha :)
Magalena: He will be getting out of the hospital very soon. I’m so pleased you liked her name as the trigger.
Neelix: I’m glad you appreciate my cliffies! :D Thanks for your reviews and I hope you like the rest of it.
Baesters: I’m flattered I could ‘hook’ you, and feel even more ashamed that I have been so lacking recently. But I really won’t let it hang there forever. Thanks for reviewing.
Madietta: Yeah I guess he was a ‘hologram’ Dumbledore – kind of like the Doctor in Voyager perhaps? Haha yeah I’m a fangirl for a lot of things. I’m glad that you liked Holo-Dumbledore too, I’m pleased I decided to ‘go there’ although it has meant a more complicated fiction! Hopefully that won’t be a bad thing.
TenderQuaintWitch: Thank you so much for you review. It means a lot.
Bewitched: Thanks for pointing out a blinding mistake. For some reason I have always given her the ‘honorific’ Mrs that teachers seem to have, and I have also (wrongly) always imagined her to be a widow for some reason? Anyway it’s a moot point because she deserves the hard earned title of ‘Professor’ at all times really. Thanks again for pointing this out.
Zen: Moving far too slowly before and then screeching to non-existent for a while! Sorry about that, I hope I’ve not put you off. :)
Tambrathegreat: Thank you so much for your repeat reviews and I am so flattered that you like my writing style. I hope your questions have been/will be answered at the tale continues! It’s all a bit weaving at the minute but I hope to tie it all up in a satisfying ribbon before *very* long. I’m glad you like George and Minerva’s laughing too. I realise it’s not the obvious response, but I think that they might know something that poor Hermione doesn’t right now. Though I couldn’t guess as to what ;)
Kcision: Thank you for your lovely comments. And yes, Hermione’s issues with July will be faced somehow over the course of the story. I’m really so glad that you liked my sad George in Chapter 6 and the magic and mystery surrounding Dumbledore in the painting. I was afraid it was too much without Severus, but I try to include things for a reason. And there will be more than holding hands (eventually :)!
Sevsgirl: Thanks so much for your reviews. The bezoar was so obviously simple! Gah! Poor Hermione. Sorry it’s taken so long to write more! I hope you’ve not been checking all this time! I am ashamed. I shall try to do better, I promise. :)
Kitten: Thanks for reviewing, I’m glad you are enjoying the story. I understand how Hermione’s reticence might be OOC, I was thinking a bit in terms of nurses/doctors not directly touching a patient really but when I read though it again I realised I had not mentioned this at all! My bad! Also I think that he was her teacher and an unpleasant one at that, she has probably never touched him before, I think that there would be some hesitation there. It was a bit obvious but I hope the reasons for the weird parts I focus on sometimes will become clearer in time. The same goes for George and McGonagall laughing actually, there is a reason for it although it might not be quite clear at present, and Hermione’s confusion and hurt anger was something I wanted to put across in the writing of that chapter. I do appreciate your comments though and I will be considering them very carefully when I eventually edit through this story.
Makaem: Assignments all went as planned, thankfully, and I have no more til September now! Ah, beautiful writing freedom. I hope you enjoy the later chapters as well, thank you for being greedy for my writing! :) And for your lovely repeat reviews.
Sinbad: Thanks for thinking so, and taking the time to tell me. :)
MisstressAmortencia: Thanks so much for your great reviews, I am really so flattered. It is so humbling to be called ‘amazing’ and I am glad you are enjoying the story so much. :) Sorry for making you wait so long.
Sureves Epans: I think that Severus has finally stopped his relentless tile counting and will be up and – sort of – about soon! Very soon. Your reviews have been a constant delight and one of the reasons I have enjoyed writing this story so much. I hope you like the rest!
Vocarious Reader: Thank you for leaving such lovely repeat reviews. It’s always a pleasure to hear that my writing has made someone laugh, but to be able to write difficult emotions convincingly is really a flattering thought. The bezoar was a simple thing but I kept thinking back to your first review when you said ‘most people just use a bezoar or potion and be done with it’ and I was thinking ‘Aha… erm… yes.’ Haha! But sometimes the obvious answers are the hardest to see. Thanks as well for your comments on my formatting, always good to hear! I hope you enjoy the rest of the story.
Nmos: I’m glad you liked it and thank you so much or your repeat reviews. I’m sorry I’ve been so inconsistent. :( Your review in February made be think about this story again and bring it back from the dreaded unfinished fanfiction purgatory! Thank you so much for your continued praise. :)
And now on to the next chapter – and more coming soon. Please review for me again! Thanks in advance, Marie.
