Treachery in the form of a Sister
Treachery in the form of a Sister
The day started like any other day with Narcissa getting up to find Bellatrix already gone from their room. She sat up in her bed and rubbed her eyes, faintly remembering the conversation that they were having before they retired. It was all so foggy and dream like that maybe she was dreaming. She had had dreams before about Bellatrix being so evil that maybe this was just one of them. A smile came to her face at the thought of it being a dream. She walked over to her vanity and brushed her hair out and set to the task of making herself ready for the day. ‘Yes, it had to be a dream.’ She thought to herself as she began to fix her face.
When she had finished readying herself she walked down her dorm stairs and into the common room. While passing through on her way to breakfast she saw Bellatrix sitting and whispering to a girl named Diona. Her and Bellatrix looked like they were planning something and both of them were pretty vindictive when they had set their minds to making someone’s life wretched. This worried Narcissa. ‘Maybe that dream was not just a dream?’ she thought as she exited through the portrait.
As she was walking towards the Great Hall for breakfast, she heard the laughter of Andromeda and she began to feel her heart become heavier. As Narcissa rounded the corner she saw Ted scoop the witch up into his arms, holding her close and looking tenderly into her eyes before kissing her soundly on the lips. A sudden rush of memories came to her of Bellatrix telling Narcissa her plan and that Narcissa was to help. Her complexion became ashen as she came to the full realization that last night was not a dream and that her sister had already begun putting her plan into motion by recruiting Diona’s services. Narcissa’s heart wept for the couple that stood before her. She hoped that there was someway that the couple would see through this plot to keep them apart.
Even though she didn’t really approve of Andromeda’s choice in wizards, she still didn’t want her sister to have the love of her life ripped away from her. She thought of what it would be like to be in Andromeda’s shoes and felt her heart shudder at the thought of losing Lucius. She could see her sister hurt that much. Something had to be done, but what?

Andromeda and Ted both received notes on their beds saying to meet the other in the owlery that night. Although the time one Ted’s was and hour before Andromeda’s. He arrived at the owlery to find candle’s leading to the room off the owlery stairs where they kept the unclaimed mail. It was here where they often and found some privacy to be together. When he opened the door to the room he saw there was a bed in the middle adorned with red silk sheets. He smiled thinking that Andromeda had out done herself with transforming the room like this.
His smile quickly faded when he saw Diona walk out from the shadows across the room, wearing nothing but a black silk robe. ‘Something isn’t right here.’ He thought as he turned around and began to walk back to the door. He had only taken a couple steps before he saw the door close him in. Bellatrix walked out from the shadows by the door dress almost from head to toe in all black robes with a hood. He hadn’t seen her waiting in the shadows as he walked in. he started to back away from her slowly and was unknowingly getting closer to the bed.
“Well, well, well, if it isn’t the mudblood who has bewitched my sister’s heart.” She said mockingly as she had her wand already trained on him. She motioned for Diona to go to the bed. “You know, I can’t allow you to see her anymore. You are not right for her.” She said to him shaking her head.
“I think that Andromeda can decide for herself. There is nothing you can do or say that will make me stop loving her so you can just forget it.” He said defiantly at her while still backing up. Suddenly he felt the back of his legs hit the bed and within seconds Diona's arms were around his shoulders caressing his chest and he felt her press the full length of her body against his back.
“You know you’re absolutely right. I might not be able to change your mind about loving her but after tonight and after we’re through with you, I pretty sure she’ll be changing her mind about you.” Bellatrix threw her head slightly back letting out a brief cackle. She then turned her gaze on Ted with such malice in her eyes as she yelled, “Imperio!”

Alison and Andromeda walked into their dorm room laughing to each other. They would have finished their studying earlier if they were so distracted by their men. They had spent the last two hours in the library with Balt and Ted ‘studying’. Both couple would sneak off for a bit of snogging in the older stacks in the back of the library. The boys left about fifteen minutes before the girls so that the girls could finish off their studies. The girls threw their bags at the foot of their beds and began hang up their robes when a bit of parchment on Andromeda’s pillow caught her eye. “What’s that on you’re your pillow there?”
Andromeda turned to see that there was a note on her pillow. “I’m not sure.” She reached over for the note and read it aloud. ‘Meet me tonight in the owlery. Ten O’clock. Ted.’ She smiled which lit her face up and she immediately set to task of finding something to wear. She searched the bottom of her wardrobe for one of her black school like skirts and a thin camisole to wear under her robes. She found them and put the outfit on, walked over to her vanity, and adjusted herself in the mirror and began to fix her hair. She was pinning up the last piece of hair when she heard a familiar voice coming from the wall.
“Well, well, are we looking for something to wear for a secret rendezvous?” Althea was looking into the room from her portrait. She had seen Andromeda fixing her hair at the mirror and knew where she was planning on going and who with.
Andromeda could see Althea in the portrait behind her and turned to see her. “Hello ‘Thea” she said as she rose from the seat in front of the vanity and walked towards the portrait and gave a twirl saying, “What do you think of the outfit?”
“You look beautiful my dear.” Althea beamed at Andromeda. “But just be careful to protect your ‘reputation’.” She had noticed how red Andromeda had gotten at this comment. Althea then added, “Or at least you need to protect yourself.”
“Oh we haven’t gone that far, yet.” She felt a little embarrassed thought to talk about this. It was like she was talking about this with her mother, which was how she saw Althea. “He always brings protection, just in case we do decide it’s time. He won’t pressure me though.” Andromeda said, trying to make the conversation a bit better, even though she wasn’t sure if it would.
“Brings protection?” Althea looked at her curiously. Suddenly it dawned on her that they were talking about condoms. “Oh dear gods, please tell me your not thinking about just using that muggle form of protection. Please tell me you know how to cast a contraceptive spell.” She asked Andromeda.
Andromeda sheepishly looked at Althea and said, “I didn’t know there was a magically way. No one even said anything like that.” She couldn’t believe she didn’t think that there would be a magical way.
Althea excused herself for a moment, walked over to her vanity, opened the draw, and then returned to the frame with her wand in her hand. Andromeda and Alison looked at each other and then to Althea’s wand in disbelief. ‘She had her wand in her portrait?’ Althea looked at them, knowing they were wondering about her wand and explained, “I had them paint me with my wand just in case I would ever need it.” Feeling that she had explained this topic enough she moved on. “Ok then. Place the tip of your wand on your lower abdomen, below your navel,” she brought the tip of her wand to her own abdomen, demonstrating as both Andromeda and Alison followed her instruction. “Ok now say the spell ‘Subsisto Gravida’ and the tip of your wand should begin to glow and become warm for about five to ten seconds and then the warmth should move from the tip of your wand to your skin. As the spell is taking affect you will feel the warmth being pulled into your core.” Both girls muttered the spell and felt it working as Althea said it would. Althea looked at both of the girls and smile,”At least I know my girls will be safe.
Andromeda smiled broadly at Althea’s use of ‘My Girls’, which always made her feel good inside. She felt closer to the woman in the painting that to her own mother. Both of the girls had come to look towards Althea as a surrogate mother of sorts. The feeling was mutual. Althea thought back to when she was alive. After losing her first child she could not conceive a child, even though she tried. As far as she was concerned this was her second chance, she now had two daughters who she could pass all her knowledge onto and able to watch them grow and blossom into womanhood. The connection between her and girls was rather uncanny and very strong; it worked for them very well.
Andromeda had completed the whole outfit with her hair and makeup done and her jewelry picked out with the help and final seal of approval given by Althea and Alison. Andromeda then bid her surrogate family goodnight and headed out towards the owlery for her meeting with Ted. She couldn’t stop smiling the whole time she was getting ready.
Once Andromeda left Alison walked over to her bed and picked up the note and looked it over. Althea watched her do this and could see something was on her mind. “Alison, my dear, what’s wrong?”
“It’s nothing.” Alison said shrugging her shoulders. “I just have some kind of weird feeling about this. As if something is not right.” She confessed as she replaced the note on Andromeda’s bed. “I am just not sure why Ted wouldn’t have just given me the note like he always does. I didn’t think he trusted anyone else to handle the notes he wanted passed to Andromeda.” Alison couldn’t shrug this feeling about the note since the moment Andromeda read it out loud.
Althea could see such worry in Alison’s eyes as she looked over at the note. Alison did know Ted better than she did and good majority of the time a witch’s intuition was right. Maybe something was not right. “Well it looks like it’s eating you up inside. Maybe it wouldn’t be such a bad idea if you were to follow her, a ways behind though. If something is afoot then you would be there to thwart it.” She could see Alison’s eyes light up at this as if she was waiting for an ok to do so. Althea also knew it would ease Alison’s feeling of being useless. “But just incase take Balt with you, ok? I will go see to it he meets you in the common room. Wait there.” She didn’t want one of her girls out roaming the castle alone at night if something were to be wrong.
“I will I promise. I will keep my eyes open for everything and anything. I will let you know when I get back as well.” Alison said as a child would say to their mother. She grabbed her cloak and headed for the door, but before she exited she turned towards the portrait and blew a kiss to Althea, which made her heart swell.
Althea went to Balthus’ room and told him what was going on and within five minutes he was downstairs in the common room, ready to go. She watched from a painting in the common room as they headed out the portal. She whispered “Be safe now.” And Balthus turned and replied that he would take care of her. Knowing that the two where together she thought she might pay the headmaster a visit for some evening conversation.
