Thanks to all my reviewers, I was actually going to leave it there but the lovely Sinbad convinced me otherwise :)
“You’re just being childish now Harry.” Ginny shook her head in frustration as Harry pouted and kicked a stone along the path.
“My kicking a rock has nothing to do with you, it is simply to pass the time and relieve a little of this excruciating boredom.”
“Sure, well, could you do something that may result a little less in us being killed?” Harry angrily kicked the stone hard into the sparse bush they were about to enter, searching for death eater hide outs. The stone flew into the bushes and struck something which made a quiet ‘oh’ sound.
“Is it just me, or did that bush just moan?” Harry glanced at the red haired woman at his side.
“I don’t know, but how about the big brave chosen one go find out.” The allusion to his cowardice had Harry crashing noisily into the bush and Ginny sighing at his stupidity. The rustling stopped abruptly and after a few seconds of silence Ginny began to get worried.
“Harry?” She whispered backing out of range in case someone leaped out of the bushes. Silence. Ginny was about to withdraw quickly and apparate to get back up when a strangled voice came out of the bushes.
“Ginny, go, get help quickly, get them to call a doctor to headquarters.” Ginny’s heart skipped a beat, whatever was behind that bush was worse than death eaters and she crashed through the bushes to find out what it was. Harry was crouched in a small clearing, holding her in his arms. A sob escaped Ginny as she saw her friend, broken, bruised and battered lying naked in the dirt. She’d been gone for months and while they still hoped to find her intact, she’d ceased to linger at the forefront of their minds.
“We have to take her back now, she looks terrible, the two of us can manage.” Ginny had dropped to her knees and was babbling, checking for a pulse and trying to ignore the tears blurring her vision.
“Look at her Ginny, we can’t apparate her. Besides, we’re not far from the house just go get some bloody help and we’ll carry her back under my invisibility cloak.” Harry’s voice broke a couple of times, and Ginny could tell it was taking all his self control not to cry. She nodded quietly and spun on the spot. She landed, already running, on the front steps and when she wrenched open the door and fell into Remus’s arms the grief over took her and she collapsed into hysterics. Only a deep sense of importance forced her to control herself and she gasped an explanation to her old teacher. His face was grim as he shouted for Sirius and Arthur to come help him, and Molly came bustling out to put her to bed as they swept out the door.
