Chapter 11: Escape
Two days after the event in the dungeon storage room, Albus and the other two were still trying to figure out a way to get to Snape’s grave. Scorpius had said that Snape had been buried in the rundown garden of his old home on a street called Spinner’s End. The only problem was either getting permission to go out to rob a grave or finding a way to sneak out and get there.
Albus threw another crumpled piece of parchment into the garbage can across the room, “I’m running out of ideas!”
Scorpius nodded to Albus and said over the noise of the garbage can’s belch, “I think we need help from the outside…who the bloody hell can help us?”
“Well dad does have this one house elf, he’s really, really, old so I wouldn’t make him dig up a dead person but maybe he can bring us a portkey?” Albus muttered as he started to doodle on a new piece of parchment, “but we’d need another in order to get back.”
Scorpius sighed, “Well now that we’ve got that out of the way, we have no reason to continue to put off his Herbology project.”
Albus chuckled slightly, “You’ve got a point.”

Leon glared at his two Slytherin friends across the library table, “And you two were planning on telling me when?”
“We just told you.” Scorpius stated simply, “So…about now.”
Leon’s ears turned slightly red and he seemed to splutter for an instant, “What if the elf doesn’t eve know how to turn something into a portkey?!”
“We’ll get James or Elan or Victoire to help us.” Albus said with a shrug.
Scorpius sighed and picked up their Herbology book before thumbing through it with a bored look on his face, “Why does Professor Longbottom always give us weird projects like this?”
The change of subject wasn’t lost on the other two but they just sighed and went along with the young Malfoy. Albus chuckled lightly as he picked up his own book, “On the bright side, we might find herbs for the potion.”
The other two gave him a nod then started in on their own books. It had only been a few minutes when someone sat down and propped their feet up onto the table, “Hey firsties!”
Leon jumped at the voice and looked over with a scowl at the black haired intruder, “What do you want?”
Albus looked over at his brother with a similar scowl, “Yeah James what is it?”
James mocked them with his hand then smiled and dropped his voice to a whisper, “Just to see how you’re doing.”
Scorpius gave him a smirk, “We pretty much have it figured out actually.”
“Really?” James raised an eyebrow, “Well then, guess you don’t need any of my help.”
“Actually…” Albus said off in thought, “We kind of need you to call Kreature for us. He won’t come for me since I’m too young.”
James arched his eyebrow a little higher, “That’s strange. I’ll tell him to meet you near the whomping willow in about two hours.”
Scorpius smirked, “Sweet.”

Gale stepped out from behind the bookshelves and went up to the owlry before opening the letter held by one of the owls.
My Gale storm,
Your information was indeed quite useful. You are to tell me first thing if they do anything with that ring. They might have come across my treasure mine.
Your Mother
Gale folded up the letter then crossed to the window and used the ledge to write his reply:
They’re bringing back Snape or at least trying to. They want to get some dumb elf to bring them the portkey to get there.
Gale
He folded up the letter and handed it to an owl which flew off almost instantly. He leaned against the wall for a minute then his eyes snapped to the doorway, “Goyle you can come here now.”
A small kid peaked his head in then came in quickly. He looked rather strange like a difficult mixture of a troll and an elf. He got to Gale’s side and stood there obediently. Gale gave a smirk and started walking causing the kid to follow him like a lost puppy, “Did anyone come by?”
The young Goyle looked up at him nervously, “Only Filch but I told him there were Gryffindors’ with dung bombs on the third floor.”
“Good. I’m pretty sure our plans will be coming together shortly. Mother seems to think that we’ll get some good information.” Gale paused, “We need to get closer to them…”
“We could get closer if I did it.” Goyle said as he followed Gale down the stairs, “I don’t think they trust you much.”
Gale nodded then turned to face the small boy, “Get to them and don’t let them know.”

Artemis’s stiletto heels were making hallow clacking noises on the smooth black stone floor as she walked to a large silver door at the end of the hallway. She pressed her hand against it and pushed slightly causing the door to swing open and revile a study where a slightly balding man was sitting.
The man had thinning blonde hair which seemed to accent his bright blue eyes even more. He glanced up from the book he had been reading and gave Artemis a small smile, “Artemis, my moon, how are your plans coming along?”
“Gale seems to be finding enough information for us to make a move soon, Zacharias.” Artemis said as she browed the shelves.
“Well at least he’s doing well.” Zacharias said as he turned back to his book, “I want my son to get things done right.”
Artemis chuckled, “I’m surprised he’s gotten as much information that he’s sent me but a lot of it is due to that snake you bought him.”
Zacharias chuckled this time and tossed her the book he’d been reading, “Looking for this?”
Artemis caught it and looked at the title, “Yes thank you, I’ve got to go to the wolves now. Grayback seems to think I have a job for him.”
Zacharias looked up, “Well you do, don’t you?”
“Well yes, I think we need to set things a little straighter with Potter.” Artemis said over her shoulder as she left the room, “He can get such a big head you know.”

“We have an hour and a half before we have to bring the old guy back and we have no idea on how to make the bloody potion!” Scorpius fumed as he threw his book into his trunk, “We’ve been at it forever!”
Albus was glaring at his book as well, “I have no idea where to look now…”
Both boys glared at the floor before a knock made them both jump. Scorpius moved to open the door and turned his glare on the small boy that was on the other side, “What do you want?”
Goyle shifted from foot to foot, “ummmm…well….see….I left my book in here this morning and I need it for my homework.”
Scorpius blinked as he realized how unbelievingly rude he’d been and opened the door for him, “Sorry….its just...” Scorpius caught himself, “Homework is frustrating.”
Albus mouthed the word ‘nice’ to Scorpius then put their Herbology books away, “So, ummmm, sorry I don’t think I remember your name.”
“Oh, Caleb Goyle, nice to meet you.” Goyle said with a sort of impish smile. He went over to his bed and picked up his transfiguration book allowing his copy of ‘Advanced Potion-Making’ by Libatius Borage to fall onto the floor cover face up, “Oopps!”
“Hey!” Scorpius said as he realized what the book was, “Can we borrow that? Only for awhile? I promise you’ll get it back in a week or less!”
Caleb smiled, “Sure. It takes up too much room anyways.” He handed over the book and went to the door, “Well, I hope your homework goes a little better now.”
Albus and Scorpius both gave grateful nods and completely missed the evil smirk playing on Caleb’s face as the started to poor over the potions book. Caleb ran down to Gale and gave him a really wide smile, “They’ve got that potions book. The only thing stopping them from moving soon now is trying to figure out how to make the potion. It shouldn’t take long since that book has everything about anything that has to deal with potions.”
Gale nodded with his own matching smirk, “Good.”
Back with Albus and Scorpius their brains were going faster than ever before as they made list after list of magical ingredients, “We’ll have to just make sure the bones don’t turn to dust on us while we test out these ingredients on like, dead rats or something.”
Albus nodded, “Come on,” He was watching the clock, “We’ve got ten minutes to go get Leon and then 20 to get back down and to the willow without anyone noticing. Don’t forget anything and don’t leave anything behind.”
Scorpius nodded and grabbed his book bag with his Herbology book and now the advanced potion book and their lists, “Hopefully Leon will be able to make something more out of these lists than we did or otherwise we might wind up bringing him back wrong.”
Albus snickered, “Imagine bringing him back purple….”
