Chapter Eleven
A/N: Many apologies, everyone. I always think "Oh, yeah, school is starting again, but I'll have some spare time to write my little stories." and then I end up imploding in on myself due to abstract Arabic subject/verb agreement grammatical rules and essays about Democratic Peace Theory.
So this is an obcenely short chapter, it's just plain scandalous how short this is, amd I swear I'll post more soon. I'm actually actively typing it. Right now.

Dora’s favorite restaurant turned out to be a moderately priced Mediterranean one. She was, indeed, wearing something terribly indecent. It was a Muggle restaurant, after all. For some reason, they wear considerably less clothes than we do.
Here I am dithering.
I’ll spare you the details and skip dinner. I’d fully planned to bring it up over our entrée, but that turned into dessert, which turned into the walk home, which turned into a cup of tea by candlelight in her living room.
And Dumbledore’s tomb flashed through my mind, all night.
I barely listened as Dora talked, babbling, about the state of the Ministry. She was just getting into the pros and cons of the new administration when I spoke, suddenly and quietly.
“Dora, will you marry me?”
Her mouth fell open almost comically, “Wh…what?”
I pushed on. It was now or never. Placing my hands on either side of her round, beautiful face, I looked into her chocolate brown eyes…her natural color…
“Marry me, Nymphadora Tonks.”
“I…I…yes!” she sputtered, throwing herself into my arms…I collapsed back onto her floor cushions, and she kissed me, and there it was again…I was happy…
That night, after Dora and I made love and plans, I lay awake, wondering how I had gotten there, to that point. A beautiful woman slept in my arms…my wife…
“Look, mate,” Sirius was saying, waving his drink around again, “You’ve got to promise me that you’ll at least try to be slightly happy at some point in your bloody life.”
