Galactic Love

Chapter 11

Hermione gently wiped a damp cloth over the cut over Severus’ eye. She then placed a fresh bandage over it. “I don’t think it will leave a scar,”

“Good. I’d hate for Padme to see it. That and I don’t want people to start mistaking me for Harry,” he said with a teasing smile.

"That wouldn’t happen. Besides, a scar over your eye might give you more of the bad boy image. After all, girls love a bad boy,” she giggled.

The two began laughing as Hermione put away the first aide kit Ron had left. When she had seen Ron, she almost didn’t recognize him. Just then, the door slid open and in walked the man in question.

“My Master wants to see you,” Ron stated pointing to Hermione.

Hermione stood with her head held high. She saw Severus start to stand up, but placed her hand on his shoulder stopping him. Their eyes locked and reluctantly, Severus sat back down. She gave him a reassuring smile before walking out of the room with Ron behind her.

Ron led her down a series of corridors before they entered a control room. She found Anakin seated at the head of the table in the room. Voldemort was sitting in the chair to his left. She assumed the chair to Anakin’s right was for Ron.

“Glad you could join us Senator Granger,” Voldemort smiled evilly.

“Have a seat Hermione,” Anakin replied as motioned for the seat at his right.

Slowly she walked over and sat down. “What am I doing here Anakin? Or is it Darth Vader now?” she asked.

“I thought you would like a front row seat,” Anakin answered.

“Front row seat to what?” she questioned, not liking his tone.

“To the destruction of Potter and your Jedi lover, Voldemort hissed.

Hermione glared at Voldemort. A moment later, a monitor began beeping. She watched as Ron walked over and examined it. He turned and addressed Anakin. “They’re landing now Master,”

“Good. Go Darth Sideious. You are their last obstacle before they get to us,” Anakin ordered.

“I won’t fail Master,” Ron bowed.

In a swirl of black, he left the room. Hermione looked out the glass that protected them from the volcanic elements of the planet. She saw the silver Nubian cruiser landing. With an evil laugh, Voldemort rose to his feet and exited the room.

“How could you Anakin? Obi-Wan thought of you as a brother. How could you join the Sith?” she demanded.

“Like a brother? Ha! All he did was hold me back from my true potential. My true destiny. With Obi-Wan out of the way, the circle will be complete. I will not only have you, but the Republic as well,” Anakin explained with a sinister glint in his eyes. Fearfully, Hermione got to her feet and backed away.

“I thought you would like some company for the main event,” Voldemort laughed as he shoved Severus into the room.

Severus rushed to Hermione’s side. The two faced Anakin and Voldemort. Though both were terrified, they were trying desperately to hide it.

Harry and Obi-Wan exited the ship. As they headed for the building in front of them, they felt it. Harry pulled out his wand and began looking around trying to find the Death Eaters he knew were hiding.

“How many?” Obi-Wan asked.

“Eleven,” Harry answered.

“Be careful,” Obi-Wan advised.

“I’d stay close to me if I were you. If they use spells, I can block them. I’m not sure if the Force will work against them,” Harry replied.

Obi-Wan nodded. They had only made it a few feet when the Death Eaters surrounded them. Right in front was Bellatrix. Harry felt his anger rise at remembering how she had killed Sirius two years ago at the Ministry of Magic.

“Well, look who thinks he’s a Jedi boys. The-Boy-Who-Wouldn’t-Fucking-Die,” Bella laughed.

“I see Voldemort’s still leading you around by the nose. Hope you and your pathetic master said your good byes,” Harry countered.

The fight began. Spells and Hexes flew through the air. Surprisingly, Harry and Obi-Wan discovered they use the Force to block them, even the Unforgivables. While Harry battled with his wand, Obi-Wan used the Force to send the spells and hexes directed at him back to whoever cast them.

“Learned a few tricks I see,” Bella taunted as Harry reflected the Killing curse back at Dolohov.

“You’ll find I’m full of surprises,” Harry grunted.

Suddenly, Harry flipped over her head, withdrawing his lightsaber in the process. Her eyes grew wide in shock as he cut her in half. Without missing a beat, he joined Obi-Wan. Within minutes, all eleven Death Eaters lay dead.

“That was refreshing,” Harry smiled.

“Yes it was,” Obi-Wan chuckled.

The two entered the building. Both could sense Hermione and Severus and knew they were safe for the moment. The two entered an elevator and headed up. When the doors opened, they were greeted by Ron.

“Well, I see Voldemort’s followers failed,” Ron said as he removed his black cloak.

“This is your only chance Ron. My fight is with Voldemort, not you. It’s not too late to come back,” Harry replied.

“My name is Darth Sideious. You’re wrong though, your fight is with me Jedi,” Ron hissed as he drew his lightsaber.

“Then you are lost,” Harry shot back as he and Obi-Wan in turn drew their lightsabers.

In the control room, Anakin let out a growl and faced Voldemort. “They are on their way,”

“I guess Weasley failed you My Lord,” Voldemort sneered.

“No matter. I will still get what I want,” Anakin replied.

Hermione and Severus shared a look. They knew that when the fighting began, they would have to stay out of the way as best they could. A second later, the doors slid open. Obi-Wan and Harry stood with wand and lightsaber in hand.

“You should have chosen a better apprentice,” Harry hissed.

“Perhaps I should have chosen you,” Anakin stated.

“I would never join you. I am a Jedi. I fight for the Republic,” Harry said.

Harry spun around and used the Force to block the hex Voldemort had sent while his back was turned. The two began fighting. Obi-Wan and Anakin engaged their lightsabers and began to circle each other.

“You won’t win. Hermione and the Republic will be mine,” Anakin vowed.

“Your overconfidence is your weakness. I have failed you Anakin. I have failed you,” Obi-Wan said sadly.

Severus shoved himself and Hermione to the floor as a spell hit the console behind them. As they moved to a corner, they watched the two battles raging in the room. Harry and Voldemort. Obi-Wan and Anakin.

A burst of light erupted. Harry and Voldemort’s wands had locked together as a dome of gold surrounded them. Hermione watched as Harry poured everything he had into his wand. A second later, an inhuman scream filled the room as Voldemort crumpled to the floor, dead. Harry let out a relieved sigh. Obi-Wan let out a cry as Anakin knocked him into one of the monitors.

“Obi-Wan!” Hermione yelled.

“Aaahhh!” Severus cried as he went flying into the wall.

Obi-Wan looked up and saw Anakin using the Force to choke Hermione. His blood began to boil.

“Anakin. Please stop,” Hermione gasped.

“She’s mine!” Anakin growled.

“Let her go Anakin!” Obi-Wan roared.

“You will not take her from me!” Anakin screamed.

“Let her go!” Obi-Wan hissed as he jumped to his feet.

Anakin released Hermione and she slumped to the floor. He spun around and his fight continued with Obi-Wan. The two men’s lightsabers clashed in a blur of red and green. As they took their fight out of the control room, Harry rushed to Hermione’s side.

Obi-Wan and Anakin found themselves fighting outside, dodging lava balls and the river of lava they were now fighting beside. Obi-Wan didn’t give up as his lightsaber clashed with Anakin’s again and again. Anakin used all his rage and lashed out at his former Master through the Force. Obi-Wan flipped over Anakin landing on the slope of the embankment.

“It’s over Anakin! I have the high ground!” Obi-Wan yelled.

“You underestimate my power!” Anakin screamed.

“Don’t try it,” Obi-Wan pleaded.

Anakin let out a roar and leapt into the air. Obi-Wan swiped upward with his lightsaber. The beam of light cut through Anakin’s legs and left arm. Anakin dropped to the black ash, howling like an animal.

“YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE! IT WAS SAID YOU WOULD DESTROY THE SITH NOT JOIN THEM! BRING BALANCE TO THE FORCE!” Obi-Wan cried.

“I HATE YOU!” Anakin raged.

“You were my brother Anakin! I loved you!” Obi-Wan yelled.

Suddenly a wave of lava washed over the embankment, covering Anakin. Obi-Wan turned away from the horrid sight of his former Padawan and friend being swallowed by molten rock. When he turned around, he found nothing but the charred remains of Anakin. He knew his friend was truly dead.

“Hermione,” Obi-Wan gasped. He spun on his heel and ran as fast as he could back to the control room.

“Obi-Wan!” Harry called as he spotted the Jedi running past the ship.

“Where’s…”

“Severus and I got her on board. Let’s go. She needs a healer,” Harry answered Obi-Wan’s unasked question.

The two boarded the ship. Harry headed for the controls while Obi-Wan headed to the medical bay. He found Severus monitoring Hermione’s vitals. Obi-Wan stepped over and gently brushed her cheek with his hand.

“Obi-Wan,” she sighed.

“I’m here,” Obi-Wan smiled.

“Are you…alright?” she asked weakly.

“I’m fine love. Just hang on. We’ll get you to the Temple soon. Just hold on,” he whispered.

Hermione’s eyes fluttered closed and her head drifted to the side. “She’s asleep Obi-Wan. Her vitals are low and that worries me. What did Anakin do to her?” Severus asked worriedly.

“He used the dark side against her. I just hope she can hang on till we get to Corusant,” Obi-Wan answered with a heavy sigh.

************************************************************************

Obi-Wan stood outside Hermione’s bedroom. Harry and Severus sat on the sofa. They had arrived at the Temple an hour ago and found Mace waiting for them. They got Hermione to her room where a healer was there and began working on Hermione immediately. Obi-Wan looked up as the doors opened and in walked Padme.

“Padme,” Severus sighed as she rushed into his waiting arms.

“Oh Severus. I was so worried,” Padme whispered as she held him tightly.

Obi-Wan looked away from the couple. He was happy they had found each other, but his thoughts were on the woman who held his heart. The very woman that could be dying in the next room.

“How is she?” Padme asked as she walked over to Obi-Wan.

“We’re still waiting to hear from the healer,” Obi-Wan answered worriedly.

Padme gently pulled the older man into her arms in a sisterly hug. Obi-Wan gratefully returned her hug. Harry and Severus watched on, glad that at least Padme could offer some reassurance.

“I can’t lose her Padme,” Obi-Wan whispered.

“Listen to me Obi-Wan. You won’t lose her. Hermione is a fighter. She loves you too much to give up and leave you,” Padme said.

“Master Kenobi,” the healer replied as she exited the bedroom.

Obi-Wan spun around. “Is she alright?” he demanded.

“She’s fine. Tired and weak, but she will be up and around in a few days. She’s asking for you,” the healer smiled.

He turned from the healer and walked into the bedroom. He walked over to the bed and carefully sat on the edge and took Hermione’s hand in his. Her eyes slowly opened. When she saw Obi-Wan, her face broke into a bright smile.

“Hi,” she whispered.

“How are you feeling love?” he asked.

“Tired, but I’ll live. What about you?” she answered.

“I was so scared I was going to loose you,” he replied as he brushed a lock of hair from her forehead.

“I meant with…” she started.

“I know. I think one day I will be able to forgive myself for what happened,” he sighed.

“Ben hold me,” she said softly.

Obi-Wan removed his boots and climbed in beside her. Gently he gathered her in his arms and held her close. He knew that if anyone could help him deal with what happened between him and Anakin, it was Hermione.
