Discovery

Lucius sat at his desk starring at the picture of his only child. He brought his glass to his lips and swallowed and then swore, “Where the hell are you hiding, Draco!” Lucius knew that his son was not dead because it would have shown up on the family tree. It had been over five years since he had seen his heir.

He wondered why he had disappeared but figured it probably had to do with him and Narcissa forcing him to marry Pansy Parkinson. They both knew that Draco was not interested in the chit, but she was a pureblood and knew what it meant to be the wife of a Malfoy. To bad his rebellious son didn’t.

Taking another swallow of his firewhiskey he decided that he would hire another investigator to find his wayward child. This time he would hire a Muggle. Lucius hated Muggles and all that they stood for, but after five years there had been not a single sighting of Draco’s magical signature so he had to be living as one. Why he would do something so ridiculous was beyond him, but Lucius gave up trying to figure Draco out years ago. He chalked it up to bad genes on the Black side of the family. His mother had obviously pampered him too much and he didn’t know how to be a true Malfoy.

Lucius planned to take care of that little problem as soon as he returned. It was high time he returned and acted like his heir. If he could have blasted him from the family tree he would have done so years ago, but unfortunately Voldemort had taken that option away from him in one of his fits of rage.

Lucius looked up when he heard a pop. “Master, a man is here to see sir. It’s about Master Draco, sir.” Finky the house elf said.

“Well don’t just stand there you fool! Bring him in!” Lucius demanded. He wondered who it could be and what they knew.

Moments later Finky showed a disheveled wizard in. Lucius thought that he looked vaguely familiar but wasn’t sure who he was. “What information do you have regarding my son?” he demanded.

“Mr. Malfoy, I am…”

Lucius cut him off, “I don’t give a damn who you are or who you think that you are. What do you know about Draco?” he asked viciously.

The man swallowed wondering if this was such a good idea after all. “I have seen him today.”

“What? You have seen Draco today? Where?” he demanded.

The man knew that Lucius had spent the war as the right hand man to the Dark Lord and wondered if it was worth his life to demand a monetary payment from him. He figured it couldn’t hurt to try. “How much is the information worth to you?” he asked shrewdly.

Lucius narrowed his eyes in anger. How dare this peon demand payment for information on his son! “How much is your life worth to you?” he hissed.

The man bit back down the fear that was bubbling up his throat. “If you kill me then you won’t know where your son is,” he bluffed.

Lucius sighed. Obviously the man had no concept of self-preservation. “Crucio!” he yelled.

The man fell to the floor withering in pain. He screamed until Lucius flicked his wrist and stopped. “Well?” Lucius demanded.

The man gasped for air. “Please, I just wanted enough to pay…” the man screamed again as Lucius flicked another Crucio at him.

“I am not interested in your problems. Where is my son?”

Trying to breath through the pain the man gasped, “London, in a Muggle hotel.”

“Which one?” Lucius demanded.

When the man named the hotel Lucius smiled. It was always easy to get information. “If you want to keep your life, I suggest you leave immediately,” he hissed.

The man didn’t need to be told twice. He raced for the door. He figured now wasn’t the right time to tell him that he didn’t technically see Draco. He would just let Lucius figure out about Harry Potter and those kids on his own!

Lucius smiled at his son’s picture. “I knew I would find you eventually, my son.”

Hermione decided that she had given Harry and Draco enough time to have sex. She knew that they wouldn’t talk by the way that they had looked at each other. They both had one thing on their mind, and she knew that it didn’t have anything to do with working out their problems. She had been shocked to see the way that the two men looked at each other. You could see the electricity in the air between them. The air practically crackled between them.

She looked over to the sand box where the two siblings played. It was as if they had known each other their entire lives. They completed each other’s sentences and intuitively knew what the other was thinking. She had heard of this kind of connection between twins, but never between siblings. It was something that she planned to research when she got her hands on a magical book.

She thought of the past four years that she had lived without magic. It hadn’t been that big of a deal. She had spent the first half of her life living as a Muggle so it hadn’t been that much of an adjustment. Magic just made life easier. There were so many times she would have loved to pull her wand out and fix things in seconds that took hours to do the Muggle way.

“Come on guys, lets go find your fathers,” she called.

Both of them popped their heads up. “Their not done yet,” Lilly said.

“What?” Hermione gasped.

“Their still busy,” Sirius said.

Hermione stared at the two of them and wondered what they were talking about. “Come on, let’s just go. It’s starting to get cold out here.”

The two children turned and looked at each other and then shrugged. They stood up and each took one of Hermione’s hands. Hermione took them back to the hotel and they both loved riding on the elevator. It was surrounded in glass and totally open to the lobby. The both smiled when they could see the top of the fountain.

“Look Siri, it’s the wishing fountain!” Lilly exclaimed.

“We should ask dad for money to make a wish!” he answered. Lilly had finally talked him into paying for a wish stating that it would come true faster if you paid for it.

Hermione stopped at the door to Harry’s room and knocked. She heard rustling around and then a, “Just a minute.”

“I told you they weren’t done,” Lilly gloated.

Sirius snickered as he watched his aunt’s face.

“Lilly, how did you know that?”

“I know everything,” she said.

Hermione decided to ignore the comment and chalk it up to Malfoy arrogance. “Harry?” she called.

“Come in,” he called.

The three of them walked in the door to see two very disheveled men. Harry and Draco were both missing button on their clothing and it hung from the haphazardly. “Been busy?” Hermione smirked.

Both men turned red. “We were just talking,” Harry lied.

“I see that,” she said trying not to laugh.

“Give it, Potter, she’s not an idiot.”

“Draco Malfoy, did you just compliment me?” she asked with a smile.

“Don’t get used to it, Granger,” he smirked. “I wouldn’t want to lead you on.”

“Some people never change!” she said shaking her head.

Smiling, he said, “You might be right.”

“Umm, Mione, could you take the kids to your room for a few minutes. We need to get cleaned up a bit more.”

“I want to stay here with Daddy!” Lilly demanded.

“Dad! I want to stay with you!” Sirius whined.

“They’re your kids, guys, deal with it!” she said laughing as she left the room.

Harry and Draco looked at each other and then down at the two children who were clinging to each leg. Both of them smiled at each other. This is what they had always dreamed of. Being together as a family.
