Chapter 11

"How about the Hall?" Draco asked, and Harry's eyes danced with dark amusement.

"Sounds like a plan."

-

It took the two of them a few moments of scuffling and shoving to get used to walking together smoothly under the cloak - Harry had years of experience with Hermione and Ron, but Draco was unfamiliar with walking so close to another person, and stumbled often.

Harry was patient with him however, even as he became frustrated with himself, and when Draco was about to call the whole thing off Harry silenced him with a brief kiss. Draco paused in his fit, and scooted closer to Harry and attempted the walking again.

"Third times a charm," Harry whispered, and Draco poked him.

"Don't talk," he whispered, and Harry chuckled quietly.

"Don't you talk, either," he said, and Draco huffed. They made it to the Hall without mishap, and Draco immediately focused on two Slytherin girls.

"Pansy and Daphne, over there." he whispered, and directed Harry with a nudge. Harry moved in tandem with him, and they ended up behind the two girls.

"I wonder where he is? He said he'd meet us back in the common room!"

"That jerk."

"Ass."

"Queer."

"That's not as funny, seeing as how he actually is, Daphne."

"I know. But it's still fun to say."

Draco leaned down between them, forcing Harry to lean, too, or expose them both. "It's not nice to talk about your betters that way," he whispered, and then jerked back, taking Harry with him. The two girls exploded into motion, turning around with wide smiles on their faces, but the welcoming words died on their lips as they realized no one was there.

"Peeves, do you think?" Pansy asked, and Daphne shrugged.

"I don't know. It sounded like Draco." Draco bent nearly double with silent laughter, and Harry was almost as bad.

"That was mean," he whispered, then turned to Lavender Brown, sitting nearby at the Gryffindor table. "Wingardium leviosa!" The book she was nosing through drifted out of her hands, and just out of reach. She ended up standing on her seat and jumping to get it down, much to the amusement of the other students.

"I'm bored already," Draco whined. "Let's go do something else."

"You're bored?" Harry asked, snickering. "Fine. I've got somewhere we can go. Let me just stash this back in my dorm." The two boys snuck back out of the room, and back up to Gryffindor tower. This time, Draco was invited in, and he peered curiously around the mostly empty common room.

"It's nicer than I would have expected," he conceded, and Harry smiled.

"Just because it's not up to the pompous standards of the Slytherin common room..." he said, trailing off.

"How do you know what the Slytherin common looks like?" Draco demanded.

"I've been there," Harry said smirking, and whipped the cloak off before jamming it back into his trunk where it had come from. He locked it just to make sure, and lead Draco back out through the common room. Most of the people payed them no mind, and the few first years that looked up were so awed to see the Prince of Slytherin himself wandering through their common room they didn't say anything.

"Alright. You've been there. I can deal with that. I'm not going to ask. Where are we going, anyway?"

"The Forest," Harry said simply.

"The WHAT?!"
