“Dump your kit in the corner and get on the duelling platform. Hurry up. Professor Snape has kindly agreed to assist us with this lesson. Take the standard duelling position.”
Nocturnus waved Severus up to the duelling platform. “Begin”
“Stand up boy” Spat Severus
“But Sir . . .” Harry cast about looking for support but finding none.
“Stand up BOY, NOW”
Harry stood shakily.
“Hurt did it?” asked Nocturnus “Again, don’t stop even when your opponent is down don’t ever stop until he is out. Don’t stop. Again. Again. Keep going.”
Nocturnus allowed the duel to go on until he was sure that Harry was spent.
We keep on hearing how the ‘Wizarding World’ has to depend on a mere” Nocturnus pulled him roughly to his feet “Boy”
“Enough with the practical now the theory” he passed a potion vial to Harry
“ Drink this. No questions ‘Saviour’”
“I don’t want to be the saviour of the Wizarding World.” raged Harry.
“I’m Harry, just Harry” He trembled resisting the tears welling up inside.
“Your link ‘just Harry’” Nocturnus indicated Harrys’ scar “could prove to be the saving grace of the Wizarding World. So drink up, shut up and pay attention”
Severus stretched out on the sole chair ankles crossed watching with idle amusement.
Harry tipped the vial to his lips. //…………………//
When he woke he was sprawled on his knees at Snapes feet.
“What, was . . . that . . .” Harry began shakily.
Nocturnus proceeded. “ ‘Dream Walking’ In essence an intruder can manipulate your dreams but once mastered you can subsequently over ride any out side influence. It is not subject to the rules of the normal world and we can use it to fight if need be. In time and with practice you will tap in at will.”
Snape snarled “It is also called ‘Dream Stalking or Weaving’ and it helps to know your opponent." Snape swooped cloak billowing. "This is NEVER taught lightly."
"It is one of the more intense Darker Arts, few ever do it and retain their sanity or perspective.”
Dark eyes stared unblinking into green. Never breaking the stare Snape crossed the space between them and clasped Harrys’ chin in his hand.
“I can no longer spy so you better have broad shoulders and pay attention." Snape spat
"You have much to learn.”
“Because of your link to Voldemort you should also be able to enter and manipulate his dreams, giving us a psychological advantage” stated Nocturnus.
By days end Severus and he were both convinced and relieved that Harry was more than ‘just Harry’.
