After his amazing morning of “his favorite number” he had to head off to work. It was nice fall day, not too shabby for living in London where most of the time it was a little dreary. But he was happy. He hadn’t been with a woman that had made him so ecstatic. He had had his fill of one night stands, but he knew he was still gorgeous. He thankfully was not a prick anymore from his young school days, but he still had his charming-smartass ways. Which he knew that is what Hermione liked about him, it made her laugh.
He got into his office after passing clearance and started to read the newspaper. Nothing new except for death, terrorism, war, you know, the basics. Draco sighed as he put down the paper.
‘Every paper just full of the same god-damn bad news.’

Hermione had headed to work as well, admiring the day. She had decided to pick up a coffee and a newspaper. When she got to her desk at the gallery, she too sat down to read the newspaper. She decided to look at more of the entertainment section though, because she rarely did, and because the news had been too depressing to read, she would save it for the end of the day, maybe.

One of Draco’s co-workers came in to talk to him about a new funding project the government was considering taking on. They both laughed about who was going to be considered as the head of the project. But of course, his co-worker left and he was by himself, finishing his work.
Noon came though and he saw one of his club buddies, and approached him asking if he didn’t mind having lunch with him. As they walked together, they decided to stop at the water cooler to meet up with some more of the guys. They were about to head to lunch when Draco said.
“Shit guys, I left a file in my office that I’m supposed to give to Linda later.”
“No problem, we’ll save a seat for you then.”
“Thanks guys.”
As Draco entered his office, he felt as though something were off…
‘Something doesn’t feel………’

Hermione was on the phone when she suddenly felt the ground shake. She thought she heard an explosion, but it must have been a mistake.
“May I call you back later?”
Hermione hung up the phone and paused for a second with her hand still down on the phone.
“Hermione, please come up here quick!” Ingrid called.
Hermione raced up the stairs as fast as she could in her heels. She got to the top and saw Ingrid staring at her small television.
“THIS IS JOHN NOVEM REPORTING NEAR PARLIAMENT, THERE HAS BEEN A MASSIVE EXPLOSION THAT WE BELIEVED MAY HAVE BEEN A TERRORIST BOMBING”
Hermione stared in disbelief; that was all she needed to hear.
“Ingrid, I have to go!”
Hermione quickly dashed down the stairs with Ingrid calling after her.
“You might not make it anywhere near the Parliament building!”
“I know! But I have to try!”
She walked outside and people seemed to all be walking towards the same direction. She called for a taxi and the man told her he couldn’t make it to the Parliament building, most of the roads had been blockaded.
“Well take me far as you can, I know someone who was in that building.”
They made to the first blockade. She slammed the door and threw the driver his money. The gallery was only about a mile and ½ away from Parliament, but it could still be a long walk. The driver only made it a little bit over a mile before the blockade came into view. So Hermione crossed the blockade and started running towards Parliament.

She came into view of the building, the police were yelling for her to stop, but all she could see up ahead were ambulance cars, she was hoping that Draco was not in one of them.
She almost got to one of the ambulance cars when a police officer saw her and stopped her.
“I’m sorry Miss, but you cannot cross this line.”
Hermione never really liked to cry in public, but she was angry and hurt, and she just wanted to know if Draco would be ok.
“PLEASE SIR! ONE OF THE BEST MEN I’VE EVER KNOWN IS IN THERE! I HAVE TO SEE HIM! I HAVE TO!”
She broke down crying. The noises of the cars, people, it was all too much for her. Seeing the damage that was done to the building, she just needed to know that he was ok, that everything was going to be ok.
“Miss, you can go to the nearby hospital, all the people they are taking from the building are being taken to the nearby hospitals. I hope you find the man you’re looking for.”
And with that, she started to walk to the nearest hospital she could think of.
