When Worlds Collide
Summery: Hermione is being targeted by an evil that hasn’t set foot on earth in over a thousand years. Now, she must be protected. What happens when she and her protector fall in love? R/R
Chapter 10
Albus sat at his desk and listened as Severus, Hermione, and Anakin told their stories of what happened. Once they had finished, Albus cleared his throat then spoke.
“I think we should use Veritaserum and see what we can find out. From both of them.” Albus said.
“Veritaserum?” Anakin asked.
“It’s a potion that makes whoever drinks it, tell the truth. No matter how hard they fight or how strong their will is.” Severus answered.
Anakin nodded. Severus flooed back to his chambers and returned a few minutes later with a bottle of the potion. The first one they interrogated was Darth Maul. Severus placed three drops on the Sith’s tongue and waited for the potion to work. A minute later Hermione removed the stunning spell and allowed him to speak.
“What is Darth Sideious planning?” Hermione demanded.
“He’s…planning to…kill the girl.” Maul stuttered as he tried to fight the potion.
“When is he and Voldemort planning the final attack?” Severus questioned.
“The Wizard said…something…about May.” Maul hissed.
“How many are in the army?” Anakin asked.
“There are…5,000.” The Sith said.
“This is bad. The Light is out numbered.” Hermione said as she faced Anakin and Severus.
“What do we do with him now?” Severus asked.
“Master Skywalker?” Albus said facing Anakin.
“He needs to die. We can’t let him live. If we do, he will just find some way to return to Palpatine or Palpatine will come after him.” Anakin answered.
Hermione nodded. Anakin pulled out his light saber and decapitated Darth Maul. Severus and Hermione didn’t look away, while Albus turned his head. They then turned their attentions to Lucius, whose eyes were wide in fear.
“Your turn.” Severus said.
Severus gave Lucius the potion. A few seconds later the interrogation began. Lucius told them the same thing Darth Maul had, except he gave more details of how Voldemort planned to launch the attack against Hogwarts. Voldemort planned to storm the gates as well as use some of the students who had joined to get some of the Death Eaters into the castle as well.
“Okay, what do we do with him? Turn him over to the Ministry or kill him out right?” Hermione asked.
“I think we should kill him. If we turn him over to the Ministry, Voldemort will just get him out like he did before. That or let him rot. If Voldemort doesn’t get him out of Azkaban, Lucius will just sweet talk his way out.” Severus sighed.
“I agree with Severus.” Albus sighed.
Hermione and Anakin nodded. Severus withdrew his wand and with a muttered spell. Lucius slumped in the chair dead. Hermione then used her wand and got rid of the bodies by incinerating them.
“I must go and send word of this to the Council.” Anakin said.
“I’ll go with you.” Hermione replied.
“No Hermione. You remain here. I’m not going to run the risk of something happening to you. There could be others out there just waiting for you.” Anakin said.
“Anakin is right Hermione. I’ll escort you to Gryffindor Tower. Wait there with Draco and Harry.” Severus added.
Hermione sighed and nodded. She knew they were right. Anakin left the office and hurried to his ship. Severus and Hermione made their way back to Gryffindor Tower. As they walked, Severus began speaking.
“I know you probably don’t want to hear this, but what are you going to do when Anakin is called back to Coruacant?” Severus asked.
“I…I haven’t thought of that. Anakin mentioned something about me going back with him. He said there were plenty of things there that I could do and least we would be together.” She sighed.
“I guess you could do that. What about your friends though?” He questioned.
“I…I don’t know. I just don’t know what to do. All I do know is that I love him and I can’t live without him Severus. That’s what makes this situation so hard.” She answered sadly.
Severus reached over and placed his hand on her shoulder. He had no idea how to help her or Anakin with this. All he could think of was sitting back and watching as events unfolded around them, hoping things would work out in the end.
“Well, this is where I leave you. Stay here until Anakin comes back. I’m going to search for more Death Eaters Voldemort might have sent after you two. Or me for that matter.” Severus instructed.
Hermione entered. She said the password and entered the Common Room. Severus turned and began his search of the castle. In the Common Room, Hermione quickly filled Harry and Draco in on what had happened.

“Disturbing this is. What is to be done of the apprentice?” Master Yoda asked.
“I felt it best that he be killed. If we had left him alive he would have either escaped, or Palpatine would have come for him.” Anakin answered.
“Correct you are in your feelings. What is Albus planning?” Yoda questioned.
“I don’t know Master. He hasn’t said yet. I’m hoping to find out soon.” Anakin said.
“In two months myself and Obi-Wan will join you on earth and help the Order of the Phoenix and it’s allies plan for the upcoming battle.” Mace Windu replied.
“Yes Master.” Anakin nodded.
“In the mean time, protect Hermione Granger at all costs Anakin. We cannot lose her.” Mace ordered.
“I understand Master. I will protect her with my life if I have to.” Anakin vowed.
The council nodded. Anakin ended the transmission. He was certain, judging by the looks Obi-Wan was giving him, that his old friend and mentor had an idea that something was going on between himself and Hermione.
“I only hope we can keep up pretenses when Master Windu and Obi-Wan arrive.” Anakin sighed.
He turned and exited the ship, making a beeline straight for Gryffindor Tower and to get Hermione.

“This is bad.” Harry said.
“At least you guys are safe. I wouldn’t have been able to handle it if anything had happened to you or Severus. You guys, Harry and Ron are my family.” Draco added.
“Draco, don’t worry. Everything will be fine. Right now Anakin is sending word to Coruacant and the Council.” Hermione said as she placed her hand on his arm.
“What do you think they will do?” Harry asked.
“I don’t know.” Hermione answered with a heavy sigh.
Just then Anakin entered the Common Room. He then filled them in on what the Council advised. Harry and Draco caught the worried look in both Hermione and Anakin’s eyes at the mention of Mace and Obi-Wan coming to earth.
“Well, for now all we can do is wait and hope Voldemort and that other dude, don’t pull anything like they did tonight.” Draco said.
“Yeah right. This is Voldemort we’re talking about. He’s not exactly know for fighting fair.” Harry countered.
“Neither is Palpatine.” Anakin added.
“Well, we will see you guys in the morning. Merry Christmas you two.” Hermione said as she got to her feet.
She hugged the boys and her and Anakin left the room. Harry and Draco shared as worried look as they curled up in each other’s arms in front of the fire. Hoping that everything would be all right.
