a letter from snape

The days passed and normal life seemed to return to the borrow. Eileen had found her place in the house helping Molly cook and clean. Remus and Tonks had said that they would have loved to have Eileen at their place but as they only had a small one bedroom place it would have been hard.

Ginny's morning sickness seemed to be getting worse and worse with each day. She started sleeping in until noon just because of how sick she got. Someone was always right next to her. Days when Ginny felt bad for making Harry sit inside Eileen would take his place.

At first the Weasley children and Harry hadn't been ok with sharing their living space with Eileen but quickly they realized she was a good person. After nearly two weeks things seems to calm right down. It was at the two week mark that things started to heat up again.

Ginny had just crawled out of bed and it was already nearing one o'clock in the afternoon. She glanced at the window to see everyone was outside playing. She noticed even Eileen sat outside reading. Eileen didn't seem to go outside a lot but seemed to like it when she forced herself to go outside.

The pregnant redhead crawled out of bed and walked down stairs to the kitchen. Her mother was in the kitchen already fixing her something to eat.

“How do you feel baby?” she asked looking up from cooking.

“Only a little sick,” Ginny said sitting down at the table.

When she sat down she noticed that there was a mid-size package sitting on the kitchen table.

“What is this?” she asked looking at the package.

“It's for you,” Molly explained sliding some vegetable soup in front of Ginny. “I couldn't figure out who it was from.”

Ginny pushed her soup away and tore open the package. There were two envelopes inside and small velvet bag. She looked at the envelopes and saw one was for her and the other was from Eileen. Ginny picked up the envelope that was addressed to her and tore it open.

Molly had forgotten her cooking and was watching Ginny. She had been curious to see what was in the package but she knew it wouldn't be right to open. Ginny pulled a thick piece of parchment out of the envelope and started to read.

Dear Ginny,

I know I have caused you great pain and that nothing I can say or do can change that. I've heard rumors that you have become with child. It was terrible that the child was conceived in the manner it was. I don't know what overcame me that night. I don't know why I did and said the things I did that night. Hell, I don't know why I do and say the things I do everyday. I just looked at you and I had to have you. I knew what I was doing was wrong when I did it. I didn't mean it when I said I wouldn't care if you got pregnant. If I didn't get killed when I get caught or thrown in Azkaban I'll take full responsibility for the child. It'll be hard to send money to you while I'm on the run but I'll do what I can. I've sent a bag with thirty galleons in it. I hope that helps. If you don't want any support then just write me back and tell me. I'll understand if you don't want any contact with me. If I am ever a free man for anytime in my life again I would like to spend time with the kid. I understand fully if you refuse me that. At the very least I would like photos. It's terrible that I might not get to see my only child grow up. I must fly but I'll try and write again soon.

Yours truly
Severus Snape

P.S
I always liked the name Richard.

Ginny folded up the letter and looked up at her mother.

“What is it?” Molly asked.

“It was from Snape,” She said handing the letter to her mother.

Ginny focused on eating her soup as her mother read the letter. For some reason she couldn't look at her mother as she read it. Most of the soup was gone by the time the letter had been set back down.

“Ginny I...” Molly said bitting on her lip. “I think Snape has every right to at least see pictures of his child but...but that's your choice.”

“I don't really know what I want right now,” Ginny said bitting back tears.

“You don't have to make your mind up about anything right now,” her mother said rubbing her back. “You have plenty of time to decide on what you want for this kid.”

Ginny cuddled against her mother and cried silently. Whenever she thought her life was coming back together it would fall apart right in front of her eyes. Neither one of them noticed Eileen walking back into the room. She sat down at the kitchen table and just watched them.

After a few minutes Molly noticed she was there. Ginny had finally gotten her crying under control. She got the letter for Eileen out of the box and handed it to her. Eileen didn't bother to ask who it was from before opening it and reading it.

The youngest Weasley took the bag of gold and walked back upstairs to her room. She pushed open the door and flopped down on the bed. The bag gave a loud jingle as it slipped from her hand and fell onto the floor.

She just lay there with her face in the sheets trying to sort things out of in her head. Snape wanted to help in the raising of his kid. Her mother thought she should at least send him pictures. Snape might have raped her but it was still his child. What would Harry say if he knew she was thinking about letting Snape near the baby?

Ginny was allowed aloud a few minutes of quite before there was knock at the door.

“Who is it?” She groaned.

“It's Harry,” he said. “Can I talk to you?”

“Sure,” she said sitting up. “The door is open.”

The door opened and Harry stepped inside wearing a very concerned look.

“You're mother told me about the letter you go,” Harry said walking over to the bed and sitting down. “Are you ok?”

“I'm fine,” Ginny said looking away from hair. “I was just a little shocked is all.”

There was a long pause during which Ginny could feel that Harry wanted to ask her something but she couldn't tell what it was.

“I...I just wanted to make sure you weren't going to let Snape near the kid,” Harry said when he saw Ginny knew he wanted to say something.

“I'm thinking about letting him to see the baby,” Ginny confessed.

There wasn't any point in hiding it from Harry. It was best to find out what he thought about it now before she really made up her about it.

“What?” Harry gasp his mouth dropping open. “He raped you and you are thinking about letting him near your baby.”

“It's his kid,” Ginny stated. “He might have raped me but it's still his baby and he has every right to see his baby. It's not just my baby. It's his baby as well.”

“He got you pregnant,” the boy who lived said. “I'm going to raise this kid. So I should have just as much say in this.”

“Snape wants to take responsibility for this!” Ginny yelled. “He already sent money so I know he meant what he said.”

“I can't believe you bought that,” Harry yelled getting up from the bed. “He's just doing this to lure you in.”

“Lure me into what?” the red head asked. “What is there to lure me into?”

“He wants you,” he said. “He thinks he can trap you if he offers to help with the kid. Snape thinks you'll buy his crap and end up with him.”

“It's not like he asked me to marry him Harry,” Ginny said getting up from the bed and staring at her boyfriend.

“It's only a matter of time before he does,” he said, “and judging by how your acting now I bet you'll say yes.”

Ginny couldn't take anymore. She ran past him, down the steps, and out the back door. Harry was calling for her to come back but she wasn't listening. She just kept on running.
