Old Faces

Harry was cold and he couldn't understand why. He rolled on to his back and tried to look up at the ceiling. Fuzziness. He groped around and found his glasses next to him. He put them on and sat up, his head pounding. He looked around. He was on a bed in a dark room, the window was open and the world beyond it showed the ocean. He reached over to the table beside the bed and turned on the lamp that was sitting there. The room was lightly decorated and Avril lay on a bed against the opposite wall, unconscious. There was blood on the pillow underneeth her head. Harry crossed the room to her and tried to shake her awake. He went to the door and tried to open it. Locked.

"What the hell happened? Where are we?" Avril said groggily from the bed. Harry returned to her as she sat up with a groan. "Ouch. My head."

He sat down on the bed. "I have no idea what happened or where we are. All I know is that I have just had the weirdest dream of my life."

"Don't tell me, God was in it."

"Yeah. He came in and said that all religions were right, all the Gods exist."

"They just didn't let us in on it. They've got a bet going on to see which religion's gonna be killed first." She interjected. He looked at her quizzically. "I had the same dream. Must be like a twin telepathy thing. Don't you remember it happened the night we met?"

"Oh yeah. He said Catholics are first...."

"Then Christians"

"Then Jews"

"Then Hindus"

"And then Muslims. What the hell happened to us because that was some freaky dream." Harry said looking around. "Draco and Ron and Remus must be frantic by now."

"Oh my God! Ron! We were supposed to be doing that whole dinner thing the night before our birthday remember? You and Drey were going to go to a restaurant, then to a hotel for the night, Remus was going to stay with George? Please tell me you didn't forget."

"No it's just that we are sitting in a room which is locked, our wands are missing, we have no idea where we are or who took us. Unless you mastered the art of spells without words then I don't see how you are going to make dinner with Ron. We don't even know how long we've been here."

She looked around the room and froze with her eyes on the door. "Someone's coming."

"How can you hear that?"

They both rose to their feet as the door was unlocked. Harry nearly died of shock as their kiddnapper was revealed.

"There must be something else, something we haven't thought of! Please don't give up!" Draco cried as the head of the Aurour's, a man called Longbottom, sat down defeatedly.

"I'm not giving up Draco. We all want to find Harry and Avril but at the moment we are all out of ideas. We have no leads, no possible way of finding them. Just give us a chance. They have been missing for three days. If they were dead their bodies would have been found. From the looks of you though I would say that Harry's in pain."

"What makes you say that?"

"Draco, I swear if I didn't know better I would take an oath before Death Eaters to strike me down that you didn't go to Hogwarts. When a couple love each other as much as you and Harry or Avril and Ron then they don't just make love, they bond. You and Harry are bonded, bound to each other. If something had happened to him then you would know."

"What if something does happen to him? It already feels like I'm missing half of myself. I feel like...I feel like I'm...."

"Alone?"

"Yeah. I love him, Neville."

"I know you do. And you will get the chance to tell him that yourself when we get them back."

"Why did you do this? Didn't you think that maybe sending an owl would have been easier? Or maybe turning up on the doorstep?" Harry yelled angrily at the mans retreating back. The man moved to the fridge and took out some ice to put in an ice pack. He put that and some asprin in front of Avril, who was sitting at the table.

"Do you really think that you would have believed an owl that was supposedly sent by me? Do you really think that you would have believed it was me if I had just turned up on the doorstep? Come on Harry! Use your brain!"

"So how are we supposed to tell if it's you or not? You could just be using a Polyjuice potion." Avril interjected as Harry held the ice pack to the back of her head as she swallowed the asprin.

"We have been arguing about my identity for over an hour. The potion would have worn off by now. You still don't believe me do you?"

"Nope."

"Not in the slightest."

"Alright, if I tell you something about each of you then will you believe me? If I tell you something that no one else would know?"

"Alright, but it has to be something that you ONLY would know." Harry stipulated.

"Harry, your collarbone is extremelly sensitive. Lily had trouble getting you to wear babygrows when you were a newborn because they rubbed against your collarbone. And Avril, you have a birthmark in the shape of a star behind your right ear. Now do you believe me?"

"Yeah." Harry said, suddenly at a loss for words.

"What about Uncle Remus?" Avril said, suddenly angry. "He misses you so much! And, what, you're just going to forget about him?"

"Of course not, I just...."

"What?" Harry asked.

"I miss him too. And I just wanted to know that I could be near him again without hurting him."

"And?" Avril asked.

"I think I can do that now my mere existence isn't under question." The man joked.

"Then why are we sitting in a house in the middle of nowhere?" Avril asked with a smile.

The early hours of the morning dawned on the tired inhabitants of the Leaky Cauldron. Ron paced around the room relentlessly. Draco studied maps and charts on magical disturbances convinced they were missing something. Neville and the rest of the Missing Magical Persons Squad drank cup upon cup of coffee as they exchanged information and theories with Remus.

The door burst open and Draco launched himself at the black haired emerald eyed man standing in the doorway. He hugged Harry tightly and then studied his features. "Are you ok? Are you hurt? Did they do anything to you? Did they feed you? What did they do?" He grilled as the whole room awoke and Ron found his way into Avril's arms.

"I'm fine. No, I'm not hurt. Nothing was done to me, yes I was fed, they did nothing. I love it when you're worried, you look so cute." Harry said. Tears started to trail down Draco's face. Harry wiped them away and then attached himself gently to Draco's lips. Draco leaned in to Harry and kissed him deeply, his tongue licking at his lips. Harry's lips opened and his tongue darted into Harry's mouth as his fingers tangled in messy black locks. They broke away and Harry looked around the room.

"Hi Neville."

"You know Harry if you wanted some time to yourself then all you had to do was say." Neville jokes with his friend.

Remus stepped forward and embraced his niece and nephew. He did a quick check on their physical appearence and then wondered what had happened. His wonderings were cut to an end when their kiddnapper walked through the door.

"Hello Remus."

"Sirius...."
