Chapter eleven
Dumbledore scratched his chin, letting all that Draco had told him settle in. Harry and Ron were shocked to hear such a story. Like Hermione would want to kiss him? They thought.
“Sounds like a trigger of some sort…” Dumbledore said after a long shunned silence.
“What?” Draco asked.
“Passion…wanting or maybe even the feeling of love for another. If that’s the case, it’s obviously Mr. Malfoy here.” Dumbledore explained, standing up and beginning to pace.
“Love?” all three boys choked out at the same time.
“I know one thing…we can’t let Hermione roam the halls of Hogwarts the way she is. Many students lives are at stake…and given the current situation – the reversal of her heritage – we must do something.” Dumbledore said, pointedly looking at Draco.
“Why are you looking at me?” he asked nervously.
“If my theory is correct, then you are the one to prevent her…from killing. And, if I’m right, you and Miss Granger must go to Malfoy Manor immediately.” Dumbledore added, sitting back down.
“I don’t know how my father will…cope with that.” Draco muttered.
“Why is that?” Harry asked.
“He has a certain…you know…” Draco inclined his head slightly.
“Huh?” he whispered, not quite catching on.
“A certain, loathing for her. And my mother…well, mother won’t care because she left him.” He explained.
“Because she’s not pureblood?” Harry asked, as Ron leaned over.
“Because she is a pureblood. The thing is…” Draco’s voice trailed off as Dumbledore spoke.
“Go. Harry, Ron…stay here. Mr. Malfoy, she will not harm you because she is to protect your family…now leave now. You may send owls for Harry and Ron to me and I shall pass them on. Tell Hermione not to send anything as the owls are being harshly intercepted because if she finds you sending owls to me, she’ll most likely come back here.” Dumbledore explained.
“She can’t stay with us forever…or can she?” Draco asked with a slight smirk.
“None of that Mr. Malfoy. And yes, she will come and go as she pleases. She’s like a Death Eater: she won’t be easy to stop but she will still keep on killing…there’s no time to waste! Go now Mr. Malfoy before she does something she will regret later!” Dumbledore actually yelled.]
“Alright!” Draco yelled back, storming out of the office. “Stupid old cad…” he muttered angrily, slamming the door behind him.

Draco poked his head around the corner, “Hermione?” He whispered, nervously.
No answer.
He finally emerged from behind the wall and slowly paced down the hall, looking left and right, behind and in front for the once soft and quiet brunette witch. He sighed heavily. This is getting annoying… he thought desperately.
“HERMIONE! GET YOU SKINNY LITTLE RUMP OUT HERE NOW!” he screamed at the top of his lungs.
His voice echoed through the halls and hit Hermione like a brick to the head. She spun around and ran towards his voice. Dodging scared students as she ran down the corridors, searching for him. She turned a sharp right and ran right into him, both toppling over and hitting the ground.
“Oh, Hermione! We, uh, i…follow me!” Draco stammered, pulling her to her feet and pulling her to the nearest classroom. Thank gods! He thought, Flitwick’s office. He dragged her over to the fireplace, grabbed a handful of Floo Powder, holding her close and yelling, “Malfoy Manor!”
They disappeared in a gulf of green flames.

Draco and Hermione fell out of the huge fireplace in his living room. He looked around, “Father?” he called.
“How stupid…stay here!” he growled, sitting he Ron the couch.
He trotted off to his fathers study where he knocked softly, but sternly. A muffled sound came from the other side of the door; it opened. There stood Lucius Malfoy, looking down at his son.
“Draco, what are you doing home?” he asked curiously.
“Father, Dumbledore sent me home…” Draco began.
“What have you done this time?” Lucius growled.
“Nothing…but, maybe you should come with me.” Draco suggested.
“Is it of most importance?” he drawled, tiredly.
“Yes, very much so…” Draco replied.
