Chapter 11

The two dark-haired men looked at each other over the now sleeping blond. Harry motioned for Severus to grab the blanket at the foot of the bed. The Gryffindor grabbed his end. As they pulled it up over Draco, they made sure to bunch it up so it would make him think they were still there.

Severus and Harry eased off the bed. Being a Potions Master, Severus was curious to the potions Draco was taking. He started picking them up and looking at Poppy’s notes. When both eyebrows rose he looked at Harry. The former Gryffindor called for Lola. The house-elf popped in quietly and looked at the blond sleeping. Without a word, she moved to sit on the end of the bed to watch over Draco. She turned and nodded to the two wizards. They turned and walked out of the room quietly.

The frowning wizards entered the room Harry always called his ‘War Room’. It was where they did their planning over the past years – the final war and the years they spent looking for Draco. Harry opened a warded drawer and pulled out several files. Severus walked over to the cherry cabinet, opened the doors and removed two brandy snifters and a decanter. He carried everything back to the desk and poured for them.

Harry ignored the lessons Draco had taught him on alcohol appreciation. In one long swallow his glass was emptied. As he felt the burn in his throat, he noticed Severus had done the same. It seems they were attuned to each other again for a purpose.

Harry sat in his chair at the planning table as Severus took the seat across from him. The former Gryffindor drummed his fingers on the files. It was apparent he was thinking deeply. Severus didn’t have to try legilimency on him to know his thoughts before he spoke.

“Harry, you know who did this or have a good idea. I think we should solicit Pansy Parkinson Weasley’s help to make sure. We both know enough glamours to use that she will never recognize either of us. I’m not above applying any technique we need to if it gets us the information. Slytherin unity and pride be damned, she’s crossed the line too many times and she hurt Draco.”

The dark-haired Slytherin took another deep drink of his refilled brandy snifter. Harry tilted his head to the side as he contemplated Severus’ words. He, too, would use anything necessary, but as much as he wanted information, he wanted revenge. Pure, unadulterated revenge. The messier, the better. Severus Snape could feel this radiating from his former student and for the first time since Voldemort’s demise, the Potions Master was actually concerned. It wasn’t concern for his safety, but for the younger men. What would the revenge do to them?

“Harry, I’m going to risk your wrath. I feel your need for revenge. I also know that abused, gentle soul upstairs in bed. He wants revenge too. You both deserve to have it, but not at the cost to your relationship. Let me set it up so you have the revenge, but not let it touch you too. I’ll still need your help and skills finding this scum.”

Harry sat still, contemplating Severus’ words. Harry knew the older man was right; it just wouldn’t be the same. Maybe just seeing final justice would be enough for them. That, and time.

“Severus, this is what I’ve found so far. From what Draco has told me, ‘Uncle Jerome’ is the man the Ministry and the Aurors have been searching for for years. I want to bring him in. If he is limping or carried in, missing pieces here or there, I don’t care. Draco and I don’t need the reward but I’ll convince him to take it. Half will be put away in trust for the children; the other half will go to you. If we are lucky, we’ll be able to find his files that will lead to “the Master and the Butcher”. It will also give us back our children with any luck.”

Severus looked at Harry again while thinking back on Draco’s information. Children?

“Harry, are you telling me you would accept the other children that easily? What about the family or families they are being raised with? What if they aren’t even alive anymore?”

The young brunet shook his head.

“Severus, I want my Jocelyn back come hell, high water or Dark Magic. I will accept the others because they are my Dragon’s. If he wants them with us, if they are alive, nothing will stop me from bringing our children home. You have known that all I ever wanted was a family. We had one and it was taken from us. By the will of the Goddess, we’ll have our family back.”

The Potions Master looked at his friend, the former student, the war buddy, his enigma. He saw the lonely, scared, wide-eyed boy. He saw the confused, hurt teenager. He saw the battle hardened man. He saw the love besotted young man, he saw the tormented husband. He saw the man in front of him determined to face another battle where he would win again. Severus Snape would stand with him; there was no doubt in his mind.

Harry sighed. “We have to get to Pansy first. We have to make sure this ‘Uncle Jerome’ is the man we are thinking of. We also have to get the ship’s location from her. We’ll have to have some kind of bait and I say we use Pansy for it.”

Severus held up a hand. Harry stopped and raised an eyebrow.

“I’ve heard rumours of a domestic disturbance at the Weasley household, an exploding gazebo and the like. Why don’t you fill me in on that?”

The Slytherin in the Gryffindor came smirking out. Severus answered with his own smirk as Harry told what he’d done so far to Ron. By the end of the tail, Severus Snape was collapsing in laughter while tears of mirth tracked down his face. He was finally able to get himself under control.

“Harry you should have been in my house. Think of all the other skills you could have developed.”

The young man looked at his former Professor. “Severus, stop and think about that again. You know some of the things I got into in school. Try to imagine me under Slytherin tutelage.”

Severus cleared his throat before answering. “Yes, but you wouldn’t have lost house points and we would have had the House Cup and the Quidditch Cup both.”

Harry rolled his eyes. He needed to get them back to the original subject. He wanted this taken care of fast.

“Severus, we need to get Pansy and we don’t know where she is. What can we do to find her?”

The Slytherin looked at the brunet.

”Give me two hours and meet me in the basement of the Shrieking Shack. Come alone and make sure you have several glamours on. We’ll have the information we need before midnight and whatever you do, don’t’ use our names. Disguise your voice also. Be there.”

With that final statement, Severus stood and took his leave. Harry replaced the files in the drawer and replaced the wards. A critical eye said the house-elves would see to the rest. He started up the stairs to join Draco in a much needed rest.
