Prompt: Prompt 24; Scowl
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-Scowl-
Despite the scowl that seemed to be permanently plastered on Logan's strong face, five year old Harry Potter couldn't feel safer. The man had saved him from a forest in Canada where he had woken up after he had been able to eat dinner with his Aunt, Uncle, and cousin in the hotel when they arrived to start their vacation. He had eaten and then started to feel really tired and had fallen asleep rather quickly after that, only to wake up the next morning to Logan standing over him.
"Logan are we there yet?" Harry asked, pressing his nose against the slightly dirty window of the truck they were driving in.
Giving a soft growl, the scowl on Logan's face seemed to get bigger before he said, "No not yet...didn't you promise you wouldn't ask that again only five minutes ago?"
"I don't remember." Harry said, giving him an innocent look.
Snorting, Logan turned to face him and asked, "Well what will help you remember not to ask me that again until we actually get to the motel?"
"Maybe a nice big ice cream with sprinkles and lots and lots of cherries." Harry said with a slight bounce.
Grinning a little, Logan said, "So if I promise to get you a big ice cream you promise not to ask that again?"
"Yup I promise."
"Alright, you don't ask that and when we get to the motel I'll go and get you that ice cream...I'll even let you eat it before we have dinner."
Eagerly nodding, Harry bounced in his seat peering out into the night trying to see if he could see their motel for the night. A few minutes later, he asked, "So are we there yet so I can have my ice cream for not asking?"
Chuckling, Logan reached out and rubbed Harry's messy head of hair and said, "Almost kid. We've only got about five more minutes."
Nodding, Harry settled back into his seat with the slightly faded brown teddy bear Logan had given him on his birthday.
Logan was the best and Harry was glad that he always seemed to scowl because it was such a scary scowl that it kept the bad people that would want to hurt them. For the first time, Harry felt safe and, even if they were constantly moving around, he finally felt like he had a home.
