Chapter 10- Trouble in Paradise
Chapter 10- Trouble In Paradise
September passed into October. Life at Hogwarts fell into an easy routine. With Quidditch season just around the corner, Hermione was treating Quidditch injuries. She was treating colds and flu on top of that as the weather grew colder. As for her relationship with Severus; things were going fine. They had even begun working on a potion to help cure victims of the Cruciatus Curse, like Neville’s parents. Of course the potion was still in the theory phase.
“So, according to our calculations we should be able to start starting the base for this potion by December right?” Hermione questioned.
“That’s right. Of course we’re probably a year or longer from having a potion that’s ready for testing,” Severus nodded as he pulled her into his arms.
Hermione sighed peacefully as she leaned into his arms. It was Friday night, all the students were in their dorms and the castle was quiet. The firelight from Severus’ fireplace caught the diamond and sapphire tennis bracelet that Severus had given her for her birthday.
“Who’s watching the hospital wing tonight?” He asked.
“Pomona. She decided I needed a night with my man uninterrupted,” She giggled.
“I like that idea,” He shifted Hermione so he could lay her on the sofa.
Their lips met in a heated kiss. Hermione’s arms slid around his neck. Severus managed to pull his wand out and caused their clothes to melt away. Severus smiled as Hermione pushed him back. His smile faded and groaned as she climbed onto him.
“Mmm, you’re ready for me I see,” Severus sighed holding her hips as she lowered herself slowly onto his erection.
“It’s been nearly a week since we had any time together,” Hermione moaned as she felt him fill her completely.
Severus let his eyes close as he leaned against the arms of the sofa. Slowly she began to ride him. As she moved, Severus held onto her letting her take the lead.
“That’s it Hermione. Yes. Ride me,” He growled.
“Merlin Severus. You feel so good,” She gasped as he began rocking his hips.
She leaned down and fiercely pressed her lips to his. Severus sat up, wrapping his arms tightly around her. He eased her on her back. She eagerly wrapped her legs around his waist as he began thrusting harder and faster.
“Yesss. Oh Severus,”
“Hermione…so good,”
Severus began sucking at her neck, shifting slightly so that he penetrated her even deeper. Hermione cried out in pleasure as her nails dug into his back. Hermione arched her body into his. “You’re so deep Severus. Ohhh more. Please,”
“Over the back of the sofa. On your knees,” Severus ordered as he pulled out of her.
Hermione got to her knees and leaned over the back of the sofa. Severus tilted her head back and kissed her tenderly. Instantly he felt her relax in his arms as he moved behind her. She gasped into the kiss as he slowly entered her again.
“You feel me? Slowly sliding my hard cock into you. Filling you completely,” He whispered in her ear. He thrust slow and firm, smiling as he felt her tremble. “Yes you do feel me. Don’t you Hermione?”
“Severusss…ooohhh,” she moaned. She definitely felt him, she always felt him.
Severus molded his body to hers. With each thrust, he went deeper and deeper. His hands slid down her arms where their fingers laced together. He softly and sensually kissed her neck. For Hermione, she felt like she and Severus were one body and soul. She had no idea where she ended and he began. Never had she felt like this with a lover.
“You’ve got me so wet Severus,”
“I can feel that. Ooohhh. Clutch my dick baby,”
Severus began thrusting harder and faster. He released her hand and slid his left hand around her waist. She cried out when she felt him start rubbing her clit.
“Yes! Yes! Finger my clit Severus!” She cried, her hips thrusting back against him.
“That’s it honey. You’re ready to come aren’t you? So am I,” He hissed, rubbing her clit faster as he thrust harder.
A few moments later both came…hard. Their screams echoing throughout the room. Both were shaking and gasping. Slowly they sank back onto the sofa.
“How do you feel?” He chuckled.
“Relaxed and tired,” She sighed.
“Come on, let’s go to bed my love,” He said. Severus gathered her into his arms and headed for the bedroom.

October passed on. November was Harold in by cold winds and cold temperatures. With Quidditch season in full swing and the fifth and seventh years feeling the strain from preparing for the N.E.W.T’s and O.W.L’s, Hermione was getting little sleep and becoming stressed.
The only time she and Severus really had with each other was at meals and discussing their potion. Despite the little time together, they made that time count. It was a Saturday afternoon in mid November when things turned ugly for Hermione and Severus.
“Hi,” Severus greeted as he entered her office.
“Hi. Man I’m exhausted,” Hermione sighed as she turned her chair to face him.
“I can imagine. What are you doing for the Christmas holidays?” he asked as he moved behind her and started massaging her shoulders.
“I have already spoken to Albus about leaving for those two weeks. Why?” She moaned as she felt the tension starting to leave her shoulders and neck.
“Well, I got tickets to the Quidditch match in Italy and I thought…” He never got to finish his sentence.
Hermione jerked away and jumped to her feet spinning to face him. “Quidditch. Quidditch! You want to take me to a Quidditch match!”
“Hermione let me…” He tried to interject. She cut him off again.
“I don’t believe this! Severus I detest Quidditch! Yes I went to the World Cup my fourth year but only because my friends were going! You know this!” She exclaimed.
“Calm down honey. Can I please explain?” He pleaded as he tried to get her calm.
“Know what, just…just leave Severus. Now,” She demanded.
“Honey let’s talk about this,”
Get out!”
With a heavy sigh Severus turned and left the room. He just wished she would let him explain. ‘Well, she has been stressed and hasn’t got much sleep lately. Hopefully she’ll calm down by dinner. Then I can explain everything to her,’ He thought.
******************************************************************************
Unfortunately at dinner, Hermione was still upset with Severus. In fact she didn’t even sit next to him, but sat beside Filius. The staff and students noticed right away that something was wrong.
“Severus what happened?” Minerva asked.
“I asked what she was doing for Christmas. When she told me she was leaving for the holidays I felt my surprise would be perfect. Lucius got me tickets to the Quidditch match in Italy,” Severus took a sip of his red wine and a calming breath. “Along with the tickets, Lucius gave me the keys to his villa not far from the match. The tickets were just to get through the security. Before I could tell her that, Hermione blew up at me and kicked me out,”
“Severus, Hermione is feeling stressed. Not to mention she hasn’t been sleeping well. Plus you know she hates Quidditch. The way you went about telling her wasn’t ideal,” Minerva said gently.
“How did you know she wasn’t sleeping well?” He questioned.
“My boy, she and I have tea every afternoon. She confides in me. Look, give her a few days to calm down then go and explain the real reason for the tickets,” She answered.
“Alright. I just hope she’ll let me explain,” He nodded with a sad look toward Hermione.
******************************************************************************
The next few days were hell for Severus. He hated the fact that Hermione wasn’t even speaking to him. His heart ached at seeing her at meals or in the corridors, but she wouldn’t even acknowledge him. On Wednesday afternoon he made his way to the hospital wing after his last class. He entered to find her treating a third year for what looked like a bite from a skewart.
“Hermione can we talk?” He asked.
“I’m a little busy right now Professor Snape,” She said pointedly.
‘Ouch,’ he thought. “Please, we need to fix this.
Hermione gave him a glare before finishing applying the burn salve. After magically dressing the young boy in a gown and pulling the curtain around his bed, she led Severus from the bed to her office.
“There’s nothing to fix. How could you even think I would even have fun in Italy,” She stated.
“Hermione, just let me explain,” He replied, beginning to grow frustrated himself. “The tickets were just a…”
“Just a what? An excuse to let out your masculine hormones? I know you like Quidditch, but I don’t!” She yelled.
“What the hell is your problem? I keep trying to tell you what I really wanted to tell you about the tickets, but you keep cutting me off. Why are you being such a bitch?” He demanded with a sneer.
“So now I’m a bitch huh? Fine. At least I know how you really feel about me before we got too serious. Leave Severus,” She hissed.
“Fine. It’s over between us. Good bye Hermione,” He growled. Severus spun on his heel and headed for the door.
“Don’t forget this!” She called out.
Severus turned just as something shinny came hurtling at him. He cried out as the diamond and sapphire bracelet cut his forehead and fell to the floor. Severus bent down and picked up the piece of jewelry then looked at his ex-lover. Both were glaring daggers at each other. With a final glare he turned on his heel and stormed from the office.
Hermione moved to the office door and slammed it closed. Severus left the wing slamming the doors behind him so hard the glass shattered. The poor third year lay in his cot trembling. He held the blanket up to his chin, still trying to process what he had just heard.
******************************************************************************
Albus and Minerva were heading for a walk when they spotted Severus. “Oh my goodness! Severus what happened?” Minerva gasped when she saw the gash on his forehead.
“Why don’t you ask that bitch you call a protégé,” Severus growled as he tossed the bracelet at her. Minerva caught the gift that she had helped him pick out. She looked worried over at Albus. His face mirrored her.
“Oh Albus. What are we going to?” She sighed.
“Let’s stay out of this. At least for a now. Perhaps they can work it out for themselves,” He answered as he stared after his Potions Master. In his heart he sincerely hoped Hermione and Severus could fix this.
