Rebirth of Merlin

(Author's Note: While the new Snape family vacations in Paris, Wizarding Britian gets a shock. And James Potter's new wife is in for a new suprize.)

Rita Sketter, a reporter for Daily for over twelve years was looking for a new story. One that would shock the wizarding public. She didn't care if it was all true or just gossip. Just as long as it sold and she made money.

That's right Rita was out for number one, many could say she was Slytherin even if they didn't know she never went to Hogwarts. No she was American born and bread. She came to Britian just after graduating from Salem Academy, with a want to prove her worth to her parents. Her being the fifth child and third daughter of her family. She would always be the baby and knew that she had to fend for herself if she was ever going to make it in the world.

So here she was sitting at her desk trying to figure out her next story when a raven flew toward her holding what looked like a large package. When she released the bird of it's burden she watched as said bird flew right back out.

Looking down, she enlarged her package, then made sure there were no spells upon it before opening. As she was going through the contents her eyes widened and a small smile formed upon her face. She couldn't believe her luck, if what she was seeing was all true as it appeared to be then Wizarding Britian was in for a scandle.

Pulling her magical typewriter close she began to outline her next story. Front Page here she comes. Only stopping for brief periods to check her spelling and her papers inside the package.

{Potter Manor}

James Potter sneezed as he looked up at his new wife, Katrina. He was glad that Lilly left and his marriage was over. Hopefully this time he could have a peaceful marriage and the perfect wife to help raise his famous son and heir. He knew she wanted a child of her own and maybe in a couple more years she would have her wish. But right now he was content with the way things were now.

Katrina watched her new husband out of the corner of her eye. She did love him some, but was it enough to last in a marriage. She didn't know, however she was determined to stay with him. For he had a good standing since he was from a old pureblood family. With her being muggle-born it was hard to move up in Wizarding Britian and now that she was there she was determined to stay even if it meant raising another woman's son.

Oh she knew that Lilly was a pureblood of an old family. But what she didn't understand was why James wanted her out. Also why the other boy wasn't here with his brother. But for now she would just play the perfect trophy wife and raise the boy-who-lived Jamie Potter. Little did she know that her world was going to be rocked in a way she couldn't have even begun to anticipate.

It had been a long week for one Rita Sketter, but now she had the story that she wanted and was ready to hand it in to the editor of the Prophet she just hoped he would print what she had. Because she had all the documentation and had given it to the man with her story.

Edward Litton, editor of the Daily Prophet sat stunned at what one of his reporters had uncovered. He couldn't believe what he was reading. And he wouldn't have if the proof wasn't staring him in the face. Oh he knew this was going to blow some people out of the water. But for the life of him, he felt as if this story was just begging to be printed. Pureblood's were all the same at least he thought, that most of them had small skeleton's in their closets but this. Well this was a big one, and he wondered briefly if the Potter's really were as Golden as they had always been portrayed. With a long sigh he rose from his desk and went to the print room, this story was going to hit the front page for the next day. And he would watch as a once proud Pureblood family crumbled. He still wasn't sure how he felt about that, he knew James Potter's parents well, or so he thought.

PUREBLOOD POTTER'S NOT SO GOLDEN!! MARRIAGE CONTRACT FORGED!!!! WHAT A SCANDLE!!!

AT THE BEGINNING OF THE WEEK I, RITA SKETTER WAS MINDING MY OWN BUSINESS WHEN A PACKAGE WAS DELEVERED TO ME. WELL BEING THE GREAT REPORTER I AM. I COULDN'T LET THIS GO WITHOUT INVESTIGATION. AND IMAGINE WHAT I FOUND DEAR READERS, BUT A SCANDLE!!! YOU YOURSELVES WILL HAVE TO DECIDE IF IT'S BIG OR SMALL. I'M ONLY GOING TO GIVE YOU THE FACTS.

MANY OF YOU MAY NOT BE AWARE BUT RIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS HOLS, LILLY POTTER NEE STEWART(ADOPTED EVANS) MARRIAGE CONTRACT TO JAMES POTTER WAS CONSIDERED VOID. AND WITH THAT SHE LEFT TAKING HER SON LUCAS EVAN WITH HER. NO ONE KNEW WHY SHE WOULD TAKE ONE CHILD BUT NOT THE OTHER. WELL MY DEAR READERS YOU WILL. FOR I'M GOING TO TELL YOU, LUCAS EVAN WASN'T A POTTER AT ALL BUT A SNAPE. THAT'S RIGHT FOLKS A SNAPE.

MOST KNOW THAT LILLY STEWART AT THAT TIME POTTER WAS ONE OF THE WOMEN KIDNAPPED AND SUPPOSABLEY RAPED AT THE HANDS OF DEATH EATERS. WELL WE ALL KNOW THAT CAN'T BE RIGHT. FOR WE ALL KNOW LORD SNAPE WAS NOT ONE OF THOSE MEN. SO HOW DID SHE WIND UP PREGNANT WITH LORD SNAPE'S CHILD. WELL HERE'S THE ANSWER FROM LILLY STEWART HERSELF.

SO THERE YOU HAVE IT FOLKS, THE REAL REASON WHY LUCAS EVAN WAS BORN A SNAPE. HOWEVER THAT IS NOT WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR. I FOR ONE AM GLAD THAT LILLY STEWART HAD ONE NIGHT WITH THE MAN SHE LOVED. FOR ACCORDING TO THE PAPERS I RECEIVED JAMES POTTER AND HIS PARENT'S MADE A FAKE CONTRACT TO STEAL LILLY STEWART FROM LORD SEVERUS SNAPE. AND UNFORTUNETLY SUCCEEDED UNTIL THE DEPARTMENT IN THE MINISTRY FOUND EVIDENCE THAT A CONTRACTED WAS MADE BY LILLY STEWART'S BIOLOGICAL PARENTS TO THE HEIR OF SNAPE BEFORE THEY WERE KILLED AND LILLY ADOPTED BY THE EVAN'S.

WE ALL KNOW THAT SINCE MARCH OF LAST YEAR JAMES POTTER HAD TAKEN TO BRING HIS HEIR, JAMIE POTTER EVERYWHERE AND THAT LILLY AND LUCAS WERE NOWHERE TO BE FOUND. AND THAT LORD POTTER WAS SEEING OTHER WOMEN, WHILE STILL IN A MARRIAGE. DID HE KNOW THAT THE CONTRACT WAS VOID FROM THE BEGINNING YOU'RE ALL PROBABLY WONDERING, WELL HE HAD TOO MY DEAR READERS. AS I'M SURE ALL YOU PUREBLOODS AND PROBABLY SOME OF YOU HALF-BLOODS WOULD KNOW THAT FOR FACT.

MY DEAR READERS YOU'RE ASKING YOURSELF WHY AND HOW THAT LITTLE LUCAS COULD BE BORN WELL I'LL TELL YOU. A CHILD CAN BE CONCEIVED WHILE THE MOTHER IS ALREADY PREGNANT IF THE MOTHER HAS INTIMATE RELATIONS WITH HER SOUL MATE. AND ONLY THEN!!!!

SO THERE YOU HAVE IT MY DEAR READERS IT'S UP TO YOU TO DETERMINE IF YOU FEEL THE POTTER'S ARE STILL AS GOLDEN AS THEY HAVE LED EVERYONE TO BELIEVE. AND I ASK YOU DEAR READERS TO LOOK INWARD AND SEE WHAT YOU FEEL. I FOR ONE HOPE THAT LILLY STEWART WAS ABLE TO PATCH THINGS UP WITH LORD SEVERUS SNAPE SO THAT LITTLE LUCAS CAN HAVE A FAMILY THAT HE DESERVES.

When the Prophet was delivered to the public. Many of the readers were shocked at what was printed but three. Some of the readers went about their business, while other's in the High Society went searching it see if the Prophet had printed the truth. And when they found it was, that would began the decline of the Potter name. Not many would really cared that Jamie Potter was the boy-who-lived. Only the scandle that screamed across the paper would be on the fore front of many minds for some time to come.

Albus Dumbledore sat in his office reading the front page of the Prophet with a sly smirk. He knew that if he sent the evidence to Rita, that she would print the story after verifying the truth. Finally he felt that he had done Severus and Lilly a good dead. Knowing that Severus Snape would not have retaliated in this way. But that didn't mean that he, Albus wouldn't. And it helped that Severus's new wife was all for it. Even if it hurt her name with alittle scandle. However Albus didn't feel that Lilly would get much negative attention since it was shown that they were soul-mate's and her first marriage was fake.

Lord Lucius Malfoy had just sat down at his desk in the study when the Daily Prophet landed before him. As he opened the paper he had to gasp at the front page. And as he read the contents his eyes widened ever so slightly. When he was finished he dropped the paper and headed for the Ministry. He had to find out if it was true and then when Severus returned from his sabatical, he would confront him. Little did Lucius know, was that Severus already knew and Lilly was already his wife.

James Potter was still in bed when the Prophet was delivered to his home. However his new wife Katrina wasn't. She was sitting at the table feeding Jamie when the paper was dropped beside her. Not thinking anything about it she continued until Jamie was fed and changed before she opened the paper.

As Katrina opened the Prophet and read the first line. She couldn't help but gasp as the paper fell from her hands. Getting her wits about her, she carefully held the paper and read the contents. By the time she was done she was livid. She now knew why James Potter wanted Lilly out and why Lucas went as well.

She would wait until her 'Husband' came down and then she would confront him. Katrina was just now wondering what would become of them, now that the truth had come out. Oh she knew many people looked at her with disbelief that she would marry James just after his divorce. But seeing as James and Lilly were never really married, which meant there was no divorce and James Potter had lied to her from the beginning. Now she just had to figure out how she was going to face this, especially now that just this morning she had discovered she was pregnant with his child.
