Late Nights in the Common Room

All during practice James could not get Lily off his mind, and found himself drifting off into a day dream, and Sirius would keep sending the Quaffle his way to pull him back into reality.

“Alright let’s pack it in,” James called to the team. It was five fifteen, but the practice had gone pretty well, well the parts that he paid attention to.

He opted to shower in the locker room, instead of walking into the common room, and Lily see him all sweaty and dirty. He had missed dinner, but he was used to that, Sirius normally went down into the kitchens and grabbed food for later, since he hated House Elves, they never did anything to him, but they were just creepy.

Lily had been sitting in their private common room studying for the potions test on Monday. She looked at the notes she received from Severus and sighed. She admitted she was a bit sad about the loss of their friendship, but she reasoned with herself that he never really liked her anyways.

Sighing, she closed her potions book, and picked up a love story that she had been trying to get through, but with all her school work she was not far along.

James ran into the castle, checking his watch as he went. He was earlier then expected, but he could not wait to see Lily.

Once outside the Head Girl and Boy common room, he fixed his semi-dry hair as best as he could, before saying the password and walking in.

There was Lily, a nose in a book as always, and he walked over to her. He knew she had heard him come in, and she was rushing to finish the paragraph.

“No need to rush,” James said sitting down next to her on the couch.

Lily finished the paragraph, marked her page, and set the book on the floor with her potions book.

“How was practice?” She asked him with a smile.

“Same old,” he replied grabbing her hand and pulling her a bit closer to him.

“How was...whatever you did?” James said laughing a bit, as he put and arm around her shoulder.

“Um, it was good. I ran into Severus,” she said casually staring at her hands.

“What did he say?” James asked a bit on the edge, just the mention of his name upset him, especially after what he had said to Lily.

“We got into an argument is all,” Lily said quietly, not wanting to upset him.

“He asked me to the dance, again, I rejected him, a few names were called and that was the end of it.”

“Sorry love,” James said rubbing her shoulder with his hand.

“It’s alright,” she commented back. It was almost completely dark outside now, and the only light in the room was the fireplace, and a few torches that Lily had lit.

Lily did not really want to talk about it, so she decided to change the subject.

“So what are you going to the dance as?” She asked him lightly, her head resting on his shoulder looking up at him.

“A vampire, of course,” James said with a goofy smile. “I have gone as one every year with Sirius, it is tradition.” He paused and looked at her, she had only been to a few dances, and it was never with a date.

“What are you going as?” he asked. He hoped it wasn’t anything too scandalous, James did not want to have to get into an argument with guys for looking at her.

“Actually,” Lily said with a laugh. “I was going to go as a vampire as well. I guess we are going to be the corny couple that matches.”

James could not help but smile from ear to ear when she mentioned couple. “They will be jealous,” he said with a smirk.

“So what does it look like,” he asked her a bit flirtatiously. James had spent a a few nights imagining Lily in that certain way.

Lily could catch his hint, and just played along, “it comes to about here,” she said indicating a little above where her skirt was. “Red, black, tight.”

James tried not to look to anxious, but he did not contain it well. “I can’t wait,” he said smirking. He had begun to formulate a plan for after the Halloween dance, but he needed Sirius’ input first.

The fire popped loudly causing both of them to jump slightly. The dimness set a calm, and romantic mood, but James wanted to dim it even more, so nonchalantly he reached into his pocket, grabbed his wand, and flicked it so the only light in the room now was the fire.

Lily knew what he was doing, but did not protest. They sat in silence for a little while, and she snuggled up a bit closer to him looking at the fire. Normally she would never be as open, or this forward with anyone, but James was different for some reason. She could feel him looking at her, and after a second, Lily looked up at him, and without a word she kissed him.

James was enjoying his time with Lily, and did not want to do anything to ruin it. He could not help himself but to stare at her. It still shocked him that Lily agreed to go on a date with him, to the dance, and now they were here. He felt her adjust, and met her gaze, kissing her lightly.

Lily’s hand wandered up to his chest as she held into lightly. She had no idea what she was feeling, but she wanted to go for it. Worse came to worse, it would be awkward, and they would just go to bed.

He had no problem with this, and his hands grabbed at her back with a bit of hunger. James had wanted this badly since the minute he saw her, and now that he could, it was hard for him to contain his want.

She began to tug backwards on his shirt, as she adjusted her body leaning backwards toward the couch. Lily could feel desire arise between her legs, but she knew it would not go that far, at least not tonight.

Without hesitation, James leaned down on her, moving his body so he would not hurt her. He was going to let Lily decide what would be best, and not push anything on her. Blood had begun to run south, and he tried to ignore the inevitable, because he did not know how she would react, and frankly, it was embarrassing.

Gently, he bit her bottom lip, pulling it out slightly before letting go once again. His hands were roaming up and down her sides fueled by desire.

Lily opened her mouth for him, and felt that he was just as aroused as she was. Her body wanted it, but it was too soon. She was still a virgin, and it needed to be the opportune time, with the right person, though she felt that James was definitely the right person.

James explored her mouth, the moved the kiss down her chin, then to the crook of her neck. His hands were on her back now, and he held her as gentle as possible. Once she turned her head to the side to give him more room, he bit it very gently, before licking the same spot. He wanted to leave a mark, for everyone to know that even if it was unofficial, she was his.

Lily moaned when he bit her neck, and she pushed her body up against his, her hands had slid up under his shirt unintentionally, and her nails dug in. James had stirred something in her that was new, but she loved it.

James groaned feeling her nails on him as he began to work on his mark. He had given up on trying to hide his arousal, and instead pushed down on her hips wanting some sort of friction. He pulled away from the mark, satisfied with it before moving back to kiss her lips.

Matching his move, Lily pushed her hips back into his. She could see her skirt had ridden up a bit, but she was too absorbed in what she was doing to fix it.

“Lils,” James said when he pulled back from the kiss. His hand slipped down her mid thigh, running his nails down her leg. He moved himself a bit more in between her legs, and grinded his hips into hers. He had to constantly fight back the urge to keeps his hands on her sides and back, because he did not want to do anything either of them would regret..

Lily’s breath caught when his nails scratched her leg lightly, then when his prick brushed her center, she instinctively pushed up to him, giving off a throaty moan. Even when she took care of this herself she never reached a high like this.

Just this slight touch and movement, and James could feel himself close, and he was unsure why. Normally it would take him a while to even get this far, and only after about fifteen minutes he was close to coming.

After a second he pulled back to look at her. She was gorgeous, a bright flush had covered her chest from the collarbone, and from where he could see, the top of her tank top. She was panting slightly, and he could feel her heart beat.

She just looked up at him, smiling a bit. Lily could not believe what had just happened, but she would not change it. Her hands felt limp at her sides as her breath began to come back down normal. “Everything okay?” Lily asked him panting a bit.

“Of course love,” James said smiling down at her, pushing his hair off his forehead. His body rejected him stopping, but he was glad he did. There was no need for rushing.

They both adjusted to sit up, Lily could feel her core wanting to be touched to finish the job, but it soon subsided, and she just curled up next to James.

James and Lily sat and talked most of the night away, and around eleven they said goodnight and went their separate ways. Once in bed, James could not help but finish off what he had started before falling asleep.

On the other hand Severus could not get to sleep, he tossed and turned in his sleep, jealously ever present. Lily was on his mind, as well as how much he actually wanted to kill Potter. He had felt it before but never like this.

Severus set and alarm for five thirty. Lily always went for a run on Sunday morning, as well as certain days during the week. He had seen her when he awoke early in the morning and slipped down to the kitchens. He needed to talk to her, and she needed to listen this time, no matter what it took.
