Chapter 6 - THE MISSING CHAPTER
~SORRY SORRY SORRY - I didn't know it was missing, but here it is... So sorry~
John was quite upset that neither of them had contacted them after the attack. "You two should know that we would prefer to hear about it from one of you, rather than from Molly Weasley!" Draco and Hermione both sat looking self-consciously down at their feet as John continued yelling at them.
John and Katie had been waiting for them when they came home from their cake-frenzy and had asked if they had forgotten something. Draco had tried to wave it off as nothing, a minor detail that he didn't want to bother them with. "A MINOR DETAIL! You could have been killed!" Katie had shrieked making Draco blush, smile uneasily and try with a "Sorry, next time I will…"
“NEXT TIME!" John had screamed making both Hermione and Draco jump. Draco stuttered it was not what he meant. John had barked that if wasn't for the fact that they were considered adults he would have put them over his lap for a good hard spanking. "Go upstairs and don't dare to show your faces down here before we call you down, understood!" Hermione nodded and they both shot up the stairs and into their separate rooms.
Katie went over, picked up the bags and with a smirk asked if John wanted some pasties, seeing that there were two bags of the finest French ones left on their floor. "It seems the young ones at least come bearing cake." John raised an eyebrow wondering what the hell his wife was going on about, and laughed as she turned around licking whipped cream off of her index finger with a dirty grin. Their little get away had been amazing and the slow burning embers had risen to full flame. "Come here, Kitten!" John growled with a warm glow in his eyes. "And do remember the pastries!" Guffawing like school kids, they headed for the master bedroom.
Draco was sitting on the floor, leaning up against the wall next to the Chester drawers. He sat there staring into space consumed with guilt for making John and Katie mad. He hadn't felt this miserable since his fight with Lucius. With a hard laugh he started to wonder when he had begun calling him Lucius and not father, it had to be about the same time he had started to feel more than friendship for Hermione… 'Mi... Hitting his head against the wall, he yelled at himself for allowing her to get in trouble for his stupidity. Staring into space again, he counted the days till he was cleared and a free man again… Whispering out loud for himself, he counted, "We have June… That leaves June, July, August, September, October and…"
"November… Six months left and you'll be a free man…" Hermione slowly walked in and sat down next to him. "Its weird how time takes off when you're not looking." She smiled a sad smile and sighed as she leaned back against the wall. They sat there staring into space for a long time, then Hermione did something daring; she leaned into Draco holding her breath scared he would push her away. But when he put his arm around her shoulders she exhaled as silently as possible and really cuddled up to him, her heart beating so hard you could see it as her blouse rose and fell on beat with her heart. She noticed, as she placed her hand on his chest, that her heart wasn't the only one doing double time and her lips curled into a smile.
Draco couldn't move, he dared not… This wasn't happening, if he moved he would wake up and 'Mi wouldn't be there… He did not dare… But when a small sleepy yawn made Hermione snuggle even closer he slowly slipped down on his back, realizing it was happening. As he relaxed, he couldn't help his eyelids from getting heavier and soon they were sleeping, holding each other tight till Hermione rolled round with her back to Draco, who followed, embracing her gently in his sleep.
They had called on the young ones, but hadn't received an answer so Katie and John walked upstairs to see if something was wrong. Now they stood grinning at the sight of the two former foes, sleeping like puppies, entwined in each other's arms. "It's almost a sin to wake them," Katie whispered, leaning against her husband who cuddled her and whispered they better or dinner would get cold. "Why they lay on the floor have me puzzled… But they look comfortable." John grinned, kissed his wife on the back of her neck, and let her go.
Katie gently patted Draco on the arm. "My dear...? Dinner is ready… Time to wake up." Draco's eyelids fluttered and a small yawn indicated at he was waking. "Wh… What? What time is it?" He then stopped moving, realizing that Hermione was still snuggled up beside him and his eyes shot open. "Mrs. Granger, it isn't what…." Katie grinned and whispered she knew that, but she wouldn't mind if it had been. Hermione began stirring at the sound of their voices and Draco gently moved his arm from her stomach, hoping to do some damage control, as he really didn't want to jeopardize their friendship by moving too fast! Katie smiled, squeezed his hand and left to let them figure this one out.
Draco had turned as much as he could, lying almost on his back, this way it wouldn't look as weird to Hermione. When she whispered his name, asking if he was awake, he was tempted to fake sleep, but whispered back that he had just awoken. His eyes followed her as she sat up; his arm was numb, but he didn't mind. When she turned and looked at him with a smile, he felt a sucking sensation in his stomach, like if he had just used a portkey, and smiled back a little unsure; very un-Malfoyish. All of a sudden he felt so vulnerable, wanting her to return his emotions, but not daring to ask for it; afraid she would run away or worse laugh at him. "Man, this feels stupid!" he thought. He felt like an insecure virgin and when she reach down to help him up and it left them face to face, he had a hard time not grabbing her and pull her in for a kiss. "Better get down for dinner" he said in a husky voice.
Hermione felt a rush of emotions not wanting this private moment to end, wanting to expand it to something more. Slightly dizzy she said that she had felt so safe sleeping in his arms and it was nice. "It felt right, almost like we were family or… something," she whispered looking down at her hand so close to his, but not touching. All she had to do was move her fingers slightly and they would be touching his. Her heart was beating fast, but she hesitated too long; he stepped back and grinned at her. "Family… Cousins almost… Right?" he said as he turned to the door. "Well, come on then Cuz!" Hermione smiled, but felt a knot form in her stomach; it wasn't what she had meant.
She followed him downstairs now feeling light-headed for a much different reason. Had she blown it? Had her stupid comment ruined any chance for…? She bumped into Draco's back as he had stopped at the last step. She looked around him and saw why he had stopped. Lucius Malfoy stood on the doorstep talking to John Granger in a very animated way.
"He is MY son… I demand to get to see him! Move over Granger!" Lucius hissed trying to push by John but with no luck. John Granger said in a very calm and cold voice that he didn't recall a notice of his visit and therefore would not let him in. "Does the Wizengamot even know you are here?!" John growled, making Lucius duck as if John had made a swing at him. Draco leaned up against the wall breathing very shallowly, making Hermione worried about him passing out. His fists were rapidly opening and closing, as he tried to control his longing to give back the beating Lucius so generously had given him in the cell. When Lucius called out his name, Draco let out a small cry of anger and pain.
"Was that you, son? Draco… My boy… Please!" Lucius begged and fought even harder to get pass John. Hermione placed her hand on Draco's shoulder and jumped as he screamed for Lucius to get out. "You're not my father! Remember!" he hissed in a voice to full of pain and Hermione's eyes filled with tears. It seemed that his words had a paralyzing effect on Lucius, as the tall slender blonde stepped back looking mortified and whispering something too low to hear. Straightening up with a determined look in his eyes Lucius looked at John. "Please tell him, he will always be my son… MY door will always be open… And… And I'm sorry." With this, he turned away and didn't look back as John closed the door.
Draco slid down to the floor, trembling as if he was cold and when Hermione knelt down and put her hands on his cheeks, a bitter tear left his eye against his will. Hermione kept his eyes focused on hers and in a soft gentle voice said that she was sorry that he had to be confronted with Lucius without being prepared and that she would contact the Wizengamot to make sure it didn't happen again. Without a word, Draco drove his fingers into her hair and pulled her down into a passionate kiss that lasted only a few seconds. Then he gently pushed her away and stood up, walked to the kitchen and left her sitting dumbstruck on the last stair. Turning her head and looking confused, her dad chuckled, "So Twinkles... Hungry?" She nodded holding her fingers to her lips then stuttered, "He… he… kissed…me!" This made John grin, walk up to his daughter and pull her to her feet, asking if that was such a bad thing, which made a still flabbergasted Hermione, shake her head in slow-motion.
She walked in to the kitchen and sat down, not daring to meet Draco's eyes. She very slowly reached for the rice and meatball dish and almost dropped the fried onions when Draco's hand took it from hers, making Katie giggle and shake her head, asking if the bowl was slippery. The two older Grangers hadn't seen anything more funny than this awkward dinner. Hermione hadn't lifted her eyes from her plate all through dinner; Draco had sat with his eyes fixed on Hermione for most of the time, smiling in a puzzled way, shocked, but not angry by his own actions. When John announced dinner to be over and asked them to clear the table and do the dishes while he and Katie went for a walk, Hermione sent her father a panicky look. He had a hard time keeping a straight face as he took Katie's hand and led her out of the kitchen.
Draco began clearing the table in complete silence, as Hermione just sat staring at the door. Taking a deep breath, she turned around to look at the table again, debating with herself if it would be better to run for it. She pushed her chair back, walked over to the sink and started soaking the dishes. "So… The silent-treatment?" Draco's voice sounded just behind her, making her drop the plate she was holding. "I did something wrong, I take it?" he whispered so close to her ear she felt his breath on her cheek. She felt her body trembling, but didn't dare speak, move or even breath; she wanted this so bad it scared her senseless. "Then I apologize… It wasn't my plan to kiss you there… A short circuit of my brain… So let's forget about it." His voice was so warm and affectionate it made her skin tingle in a very thrilling way and it felt almost painful as he stepped away, to dry the dishes on the other side of the sink.
"It's alright… I'm as much to blame as I didn't stop you…" Hermione rolled her eyes at the sound of her own voice; once again, she said the complete wrong thing. With a sigh, she tried again.
"What I meant was that I didn't mind… I meant… Ohhh Bugger… I just can't seem to say anything right today!" She slammed the brush down in the dirty dishwater, showering herself as well as Draco with a small shriek. Turning slowly, bubbles in her hair, hands held up in a desperate I-cant-do-anything-right way, she finally met his eyes and had to smile as he was clearly fighting the urge to break out in laughter. "You look pretty all dressed in bubbles!" he grinned. She stuck her tongue out at him and grinned herself. "So… Friends?" He took her hand and caressed the top of it with his thumb, looking at her with his head slightly bent and a crooked smile on his lips.
Hermione smiled back and walked over so they stood inches apart. "Friends," she whispered. With her heart beating, so fast, she feared it would burst right out of her chest; she stood on her toes and gave him a soft gentle kiss with closed eyes. She sighed as he wrapped his arms around her and embraced her as he returned her kiss. It felt so different from kissing Ron.
Kissing Draco she felt dizzy, happy, excited and a ton of other emotions at the same time. And when he broke the kiss she felt a kind of loss. She whimpered in disappointment, making Draco grin and ask if she kissed all her friends like that, for if she did he regretted not making her friend-list before now! She blushed and giggled, hiding her head in his shoulder. They stood embracing each other and thought of how the world would react on this rather unlikely turn of events. "Better do those dishes," Draco whispered into her hair. She sighed and agreed, pushing herself out of his arms with regret clearly showing in her eyes.
They quickly got the chore done and as Draco held the door for her their eyes met and Hermione blushed again. "Want to watch some telly?" she asked, feeling somewhat nervous as to where they went from here. She was relieved when he nodded and almost ran to the settee, settling on the furthest end, as she grasped the remote in motion. Draco had to fight the snicker building up inside of him; she acted like it was forbidden fruit or she had never been alone with a guy before. It pleased him immensely to see the normally collected Hermione jumpy and giddy by his simple presence. He settled down at the other end watching her rather that the telly.
"You are beautiful all blushing and unfocused like that," he whispered and traced a line up her leg with his foot, a wicked smile on his face. He couldn't help it… He found her coyness an aphrodisiac and the memory of the kiss still clear in his mind… He wanted more! Plus, the more nervous she became, the more he wanted her in his arms. She clearly wasn't thinking about the exciting news blinking on the telly, her eyes were half-closed, her mouth half-open. "Come," he whispered in a husky voice and reached out for her. He felt a thrill of victory as she gave in and snuggled up to him, her head on his shoulder, her finger drawing shapes on his chest. He closed his eyes and just enjoyed the feeling of her warm body so close to his, and soon he felt the familiar stirring in his lower abdomen. "'Mi…" he whispered and lifted her head with his free hand, a slight moan escaping him as she shifted to reach his lips.
She straddled him and deepened the kiss, making him almost lose it. It actually made him, DRACO MALFOY, whimper with lust. "What the bloody hell is she doing to me!" he thought as he wrapped his fingers around her long wavy hair, losing all sense of time and place. "It has to because it has been so long," his mind tried to find a reason for his reactions to something as simple as a kiss. He turned them around, so they lay as equals, weaving their legs together; This gave her the opportunity to run her fingers over his body and when she pull up his shirt and traced a finger over his back, his hips shot forth and he moaned, closing his eyes and biting down on his lower lip. Pulling her close and hiding his head in the crook of her neck he murmured that she was driving him nuts and they had better slow down, or he wouldn't be able to!
Panting they broke apart and just in time, as they heard Katie's voice from the other side of the front door. Hermione sent him one more longing look then she sat down on the fare end of the settee again, pretending to watch a really interesting documentary about the life of the earthworm. As the door opened, they both looked up and greeted the Grangers. "Done already… You two make a good team." John smiled and asked Hermione if there were anything good on the telly. Hermione raised her shoulders and smiling said she had no idea that the earthworm had 5 pairs of hearts, but didn't quite know if she had the need to know. Katie raised her eyebrow and looked from the slightly redden face of Draco to her daughter's lightly swollen lips. "Guess there isn't much to do on a night like this, then?" she said in a very calculating voice.
Draco smirked and turned his eyes to the telly. "No… Not much… Think I'll go up and read a book or something… If that's okay with you all." He stretched and made to rise, sending a smile to Hermione with an "are you coming, too?" look. She said she had some letters to write, so she would be in her room if they needed her. It sounded so fake that it was of no use. She broke out in giggles and just ran up stairs followed by a grinning Draco with John's voice telling them "NO SEX IN MY HOUSE!" and Katie's chuckling as she shook her head. "Oh, John… They are official grownups…" Then she frowned and yelled up the stair, "AT LEAST BE CAREFULL!" making Hermione scream "MOOOM!" and slam the door behind them as they stumbled into Hermione's bedroom.
"Maybe we better… ummm… see if Hendersons is open for a late night snack?" John grimaced and Katie nodded, grabbing her jacket and saying she could use a strong cup of coffee and a piece of lemon pie.
Draco pushed Hermione up against the closed door, put a hand on each side of her head and in a hushed and warm voice said he wouldn't sleep with her, it was too soon. However, that didn't mean he didn't want her and he would make a point of showing her that fact. He gently let their lips meet and then kissed a path to her earlobe and down her neck. As he started to pull her shirt up, she willingly lifted her arms and widened her eyes as he closed one hand over her wrist, keeping her arms pinned to the door above her head. The passionate look in his eyes made her relax; he didn't wish to hurt her, he wanted to satisfy her in every way possible. She felt a quiver of anticipation as he very, oh so very, slowly let his lips nip at her neck again and then let the fingers on the hand that held her, run a line down her arm. "You are so beautiful," he whispered as he let his eyes take in her soft female form, making Hermione blush. She knew she wasn't as pretty as many other girls. Her knowledge was her asset, so to hear someone as unlikely as Draco Malfoy praise her looks, made her self-conscious.
He softly weaved their fingers together and slowly began walking backwards over to the bed, keeping eye contact all the way. "Nervous, 'Mi?" he asked as his legs touch the bed. By the way, she broke eye contact he knew. "You set the pace… I'm in no hurry." he whispered and fell onto the bed with a smile. He turned on his side, making room for her next to him. "It's silly… I know… This is not the first time I've been alone with someone… But…" She sat down next to him and sighed. "I just never thought of you in that way before… It seems so surreal!" She closed her eyes as he ran a finger up her arm.
"I know… It's bizarre… I never thought of us as more than opponents, enemies even." Draco said in a low voice, rolling onto his back and smiling as she lay down next to him, starring up to the ceiling. "Where do we go from here?" she whispered and turned her head to face him.
He raised his shoulders and said they better take it slow and see what fate had in store for them. She leaned close and kissed him gently, only to deepen the kiss at his response. He moaned and she felt him quiver as she straddled him, she really didn't want to take it slow. And as he ran his fingers over her naked back, she ground her pelvis down and felt him rise to meet her. She sat up and slowly undid the first button his shirt, not looking him in the eyes. "'Mi… You know how this looks to a guy, right… So be sure!" Draco wasn't sure why the fuck he cared if she was really ready, it had been so long since he had been with a girl, why should he care…
"You love her, stupid… That's why!" a small voice inside him whispered. She undid the last button and started tracing kisses over his torso, across his scar and up to his mouth. She kissed him with such hunger, but he felt sure he couldn't enjoy this if there were any doubt in her that this was right. "'Mi… Please… Be sure you know what you are doing!" She raised her eyes and met his, whispering in a voice filled with desire, "I need this… I want this… I want you!" The last bit of Draco's self-control evaporated as fast as dew in the morning sun.
His fingers unsnapped her bra with skill and he lifted his lips to take one erect nipple in his mouth, biting gently and was pleased to hear a whimper. How he wanted her, to make her scream out his name in ecstasy, to make her beg for more, to give her pleasure beyond anything anyone had ever given her. He rolled them around, settling between her legs, running a finger slowly down from her lips, over her chin, down between her breasts and circled her navel as his eyes followed the motion. "How do you expect me to be a gentleman, when you are so fucking hot?!" he groaned and looked anguished up at her, as his finger slid below her panty line. She smiled and arched up against him. Rising to his knees, he unbuttoned her pants, slowly zipped them open and drew them down as she raised her hips to help him.
He grinned quietly as he saw her panties. "So… You support the Holyheads?" She rolled her eyes and blushed. "Not the sexiest pants… I know!" Draco grinned and said he had a pair of boxers with the Falmouth Falcons logo on them, so she shouldn't think more of it. He followed the embroidered bird claw with his finger caressing her mound making her giggle and bit down on her lower lip. Then with a determined look, she sat up and began undoing his trousers. Draco smiled and nipped at the bare of her neck, letting her fumble with the buttons, turned on by her eagerness. "Arhhh I can't… Bloody stupid button," she hissed. Draco grinned again and asked if she needed a hand. She nodded, looking mad at the button. Draco stood up from the bed and slowly undid the button, letting the trousers fall to the ground.
Hermione felt brave and sent him a naughty smile "And the rest," she whispered and bit down on her lower lip as he did as he was told, leaving him standing before her as naked as the day he was born. The years of being a seeker had made his body firm and sculpted, the only flaw on his otherwise alluring body was the light scar running from his left collarbone to his right hipbone.
"Can't believe that Harry actually used an unfamiliar curse on you," Hermione whispered as she rose to sit on her knees. She gently kissed the path of the scar as Draco stroke her hair. "Hell, if he hadn't… I might have killed him…" he murmured. As she kissed his hipbone, he was very aware that if she just moved a little to the left… He groaned and threw his head back as she actually DID move to the left and he felt her mouth’s wetness surround him. As she slowly moved her head back and forth, he grabbed a hold of her shoulders, fighting the urge to thrust forward.
"'Mi… stop…mmm… stop or this will end… fuck… If you want any fun… better stop…" Draco was about to lose his mind, thinking that there were apparently some things you could learn from a book, but was kind of relieved when she let him go and smirked up at him, licking her lips. Draco closed his eyes, shaking his head. "Guess you know a little about this after all, eh!" He grinned and then pushed her back onto the bed, sliding between her legs and holding her hands above her head. Then, lying on top of her, he ran his finger down her sides and lowered his lips as to kiss her, but stopped with a grin just inches before their lips touched. Each time she tried to kiss him, he pulled his head back, until she gave a cry of frustration. Then he kissed her with such passion she moaned and pressed her hips against him, which resulted in his manhood pressing against her panty line and clouded by passion he was just about to thrust in to her, when she moved her hips back onto the mattress.
"Pro… protection?" she panted and he snapped back to reality. "Good timing!" he murmured and he rolled down next to her. "Guess we can't use magical protection… and don't have Muggle protection… Sorry…" Hermione whispered. Draco smiled, this was just too ironic, wanting to, but being unable, only because he has to live like a Muggle. "Guess Muggle guys must suffer extreme sexual frustration," he thought to himself as he put his arm under his head. "Then I better satisfy you in another way," he said. He turned on his side to look at her and was taken aback by the glow in her eyes. She turned towards him and they just laid there losing all sense of time, till he pulled her in for a kiss, from there it just came naturally. Soon his hands wandered over her sun-touched body and down her belly. He slipped a finger under her panties and pulled them down, just enough to touch her sacred place. Still kissing her, he began massaging her clit slowly in small circles, making her gasp and deepen the kiss. The more aroused she got, the wilder the kiss became and the harder it became for Draco to keep his cool.
Sliding first one, then quickly followed with a second, finger into her wetness, he moaned as she moaned and moved his lips to her neck instead, whispering how wonderful she looked and how he wanted to please her in every way. She began raising her hips to meet his fingers and begged him to go faster, saying she wanted to feel him inside of her. His mind went blank and his body just obeyed her pleads. Throwing his head back with a cry of absolute pleasure, he entered her.
All thoughts of protection gone, only her beauty, her whimpers, and her wetness surrounding his manhood mattered. Picking up pace he closed his eyes, leaning on one elbow and breathing in small gulps. As she buried her nails in his back and cried out her orgasm, he felt the familiar tingling in his body. He grinded his teeth as the climax soared throughout his body, letting out a roar as he thrust into her one last time and then collapsed, panting and quivering, dizzy and high in the afterglow. In a barely audible voice he whispered, "I love you, Hermione Granger," but drifted off to sleep before he heard her whisper back the same magical words.
It was first when they awoke in the dark room they realized that however wonderful their little vertical dance had been, it could bring about a lot of trouble. "Umm, 'Mi… I think you better… You know talk to a Mediwitch… I don't really think a baby is a good thing right now… Do you?" Draco whispered out in to the dark room. When Hermione didn't answer he got worried. "Do you?!" When she only answered with a sigh, he slowly began to panic. He really didn't picture himself as a father… Maybe when he was older, but most certainly not now and definitely not when their status as a couple was only one day old!
"No… It wouldn't be the best thing right now… In fact it would be insane… But it would be one pretty and smart child." He could hear her smiling at the thought, and as he pictured a little brown-haired girl with light grey eyes, his lips curl into a smile. "She would, wouldn't she!" he grinned. "Maybe someday," he whispered and drew the beautiful brunette close to him.
